  1. Have you seen the prices on autotrader ( what they sell for may be a different matter ) but certainly on the up.
  2. He has probably got a set of expensive coil over adjustable shocks on that he doesn't want going rusty.
  3. Well done & how much may we ask. Big grin all over face me thinks. So much car & luxury for the money.
  4. At £1500 with the problems its a fair price to be honest. I wouldn't buy it but for a comfy banger that has some life left in it someone will.
  5. My last but one bike was an BMW 1150 gs I loved the handling & the lord it riding position but the seat was the most uncomftable thing I have ever sat on 1 .5 hours & you want to get off also the finish & build quality was shocking. If you are thinking on them lines a Honda transalp may be a better alternative.
  6. All I know is I was treated more than fairly in regards to compensation for the errors made on my conversion & everything was sorted properly. The owner of profess is honest ( in my experience) & will do the right thing. I am not party to all the facts so better to ask the member who didn't get his conversion done as it was a Di engine how things are going as he will know more about it than me. not wishing to appear rude.
  7. I believe he received his deposit back & the costs are in the process of being resolved .
  8. Hi all just got back from a weekend in Wales, To see my Mum & have my 10,000 mile service at profess. A few changes have gone on since I was down there last. Andrjez (Andrew) the boss has let Hew go who tried his best but really wasn't most efficient. Andrew or Carole ( newly appointed ) will be taking bookings & dealing with customers from now on. I spent a fair while chatting with Andrew about the business, As always he was very informative , open & honest, The Chesterfield branch is now fully open with one of his top technicians at the helm & Carole in the office. It looks like they will be soon going into a very big premises there. My service was done by Andrew 2 filters were changed & the settings tweaked. I noticed the difference immediately I drove off, Before I couldn't tell the difference between petrol & gas. Now it runs like silk on gas the throttle response is better & its super smooth. Fuel consumption was 207 miles for £26 A roads not Motorway ( had enough of them in the UK I just get wound up by the idiots who cant drive on them) So all in all things are well at Profess & the work is still at a high neat standard.
  9. Hi back from Wales Hew has gone as well as Leon. I had a long discussion with Andrez (Anndrew) He has appointed a new member of staff to deal with the office side of things if he isn't available to answer the phone. Chesterfield is up & running with a top installer present & it looks like its going to expand in the not too distant future. The quality of the work I saw this weekend was up to their usual high standards & with Hew gone (nice bloke but not really cut out for the office role) there should be no more mix ups. PS You couldn't wish to meet a more honest bloke than Andrez.
  10. You pay to become a member of the UKLPG register & can be thrown out by having a number of complaints (this is where it falls apart) its on number of complaints not percentage. So if you are a big installer say doing 1000 conversions a year or a back street outfit doing 25. Lets say the limit is 5 complaints do the maths on percentage of problem conversions. A lot of complaints may not be down to a bad conversion aswell . You may have weak leads or a weak coil & they could go down due to being converted resulting in a complaint. Its like my job I work under the RTITB banner or ALMI both organisations do the same thing but they are not law it just shows that I am competent at my job so when I issue a license the person trained has been '' trained by a competent person'' ( which is the only requirement Under the health & safety at work act.) As for BA & Profess they are both good installers in my experience I had no problems with the install BA done in 60k & 5 years & the install by Profess is very neat & once sorted out hasn't missed a beat in 10K so far so good. It is thanks to forums like this that we are able to make informed decisions & keeps installers on their toes the wonders of the inter web hey.
  11. Hi prins is one of the top systems but only as good as the installer. Probably cost you around £2200 for a prins system on a 430. AC stag 300 premium is as good at around £1400 from profess in South Wales or Chesterfield.
  12. OOPS, Ok my pennys worth the install is not the neatest (mine from Battersea autogas wan't either). They have one guy on 1 car I believe so 4 days including the manifold removal & replacement would be about right. When you take it in for its 1000 mile set up it should run better & use less fuel . I think a Y piece with 2 equal length of pipe to the injector rails instead of a T piece would have been better. I am not sure if it makes much difference. I didn't have any problems with the conversion I had done there in the 5 years I had my last ls400. I would take it back for its 1000 mile set up & query the solenoid & pipes, They are very approachable at Battersea autogas & I am sure they will address your concerns. I am at Profess on Saturday If they have time I will get Andrew ( Anjay ) to look at your pics & see what he thinks (shame Leon has gone) I cant promise anything because Saturday is a very busy day down there.
  13. Profess on my ls 400 it is very secure & vented the adaptor doesn't cause any problems (I might get a spare one in case I drop it & damage the thread or loose it).
  14. That is correct they do light up green they take a while to warm up, Normally the mark4s don't have problems with the heated seats. Check the block connectors under the seat ( You have probably done this though)
  15. No I'm a truck driving instructor amongst other things. I ride an old honda cbr600 myself now which I find comfy enough & fast enough. Done a 2 week 2800 mile trip on it this summer (Pyrenees & Alps) & it didn't miss a beat not bad for an £800 hack. Having been a motorcycle dealer I am a big honda fan as they are the most reliable in my opinion. Neil is right about the vtec vfr 800 needing to be revd to make it fly, which makes it a really nice smooth docile ride before the vtec kicks in so makes it a really nice all round bike & easy to ride. I have owned personally about 120 bikes scince I was 16 & a Honda vfr750 was the one I owned the longest as It was just a joy to ride & own as it did everything well. Your best bet is to try a few of the suggestions out & see what you get on with best.
  16. Probably not as aerodynamic as an ls 400 (lower drag coefficient than a Porsche 911).
