  1. True, but now I know where else I might look if I want to switch brands :)
  2. Fair shout. VED will be £350 for the IS250 Auto. That's just 96p a day
  3. I paid £894.08 inc. VAT for a similar deal on a new IS250 in May for the 10k to 50k services inclusive. That's £178.82 a pop.
  4. My current average, over 2500 miles, is 34.4 mpg in my IS250. The best I've seen is 41 on a motorway trip at 80 with cruise. I swapped a 220 to get a 250 and I'm delighted.
  5. In the end that's what did it for me with my 220. Although my economy figures aren't as bad as yours Harv, I did feel as though I was being robbed with every mile driven. I've swapped the 220 for a 250 and I'm delighted at the economy of the 2.5 V6 engine. I averaged 40.7 on the journey from Kent to the Midlands yesterday - absolutely fantastic, in my opinion, for a car with less than 1500 miles on the clock, and much the same as I eventually got out of the 220 (with 24,000 on the clock).
  6. That used to bug me too. There is a setting in the phone menu, which, from memory, gives the option for full screen or icon. Choose Icon and when a call comes in you just get the familiar black bar at the top of the screen saying incoming call along with the ringing sound. Press the button on the wheel to answer as per usual. When you're on the call you just get discrete bleeps when there's a new manoeuvre instruction.
  7. I've had my 250 for 10 days and I've covered 740 miles or so. The overall average is showing 34.7 MPG which isn't bad for a V6 in my opinion. It's fantastic when you realise I'm talking about a brand new car here. I am absolutely delighted with the car and I'm really pleased I swapped the 220.
  8. I've just done a return trip to Newcastle (460 miles) and achieved a tank average of 37.9 (the car only has 600 miles on the clock) at a clock indicated 80 MPH (roughly 75 I think). I'm so pleased I dumped the diesel.
  9. I actually picked it up today. I'll post pics at some point (while it's still new and shiny) :)
  10. Can't agree with that! If the light is off by default when the system is 'on' there is nothing to remind you that your baby is at risk of death in the event of an accident. The force behind the deployment of the bag is considerable - I speak from the experience of having one hit me in the chest, I was bruised for weeks.
  11. I've just returned from Lexus Wolves where I've done a deal to change my 220d SE-L for a 250 SE-L. I like the 220 and I appreciate that I've one of the 'lucky' ones with no trouble at all except for fuel economy. In the end it was the economy that was annoying me, almost to the point of resentment. I should get the 250 next Saturday :)
  12. I have the Dunlops on my 220. 22,000 covered so far and I have a good 5 - 6 mm of wear left on each tyre. I'm expecting 30,000+ miles and I'll replace them with the same when the time comes.
  13. As others have said, post codes do change (I used to live in GU13 and it became GU52) but that doesn't mean the old post code location won't work. Just as I remember the old and new post codes for an address I lived at 8 years ago I'm sure others do too. So for post code navigation give out the old and new codes. I suppose the most accurate way is to navigate to Latitude and Longitude co-ordinates (which the Lexus system can do) but how many of us know our location in that context?
  14. I've given up trying to drive my 220 carefully. Blatted up the MI / A1M to Newcastle the other day didn't use 6th at all (well, hardly at all) achieved 38mpg and had fun. By the way, 38 is actually an improvement on the figures I normally get.
  15. Mine had a 20k service at Lexus Wolverhampton on Tuesday. The total (after LOC discount @ 15%) came to £246.56, which I'm happy with.
  16. Mine is going in for a 20K service at Wolverhampton on Tuesday. I didn't ask for a quote, which may have been a mistake, because I just assumed that there'd be a standard charge. I'll report back on what happens.
  17. I've had one too. First class recorded delivery* too. You'd have thought LGB would have a database to tell them what accessories they sold the car with. *I thought I'd been caught speeding or something as I had to go the the SO to pick it up. :)
  18. Economy and 5th injector issue - no special trip to the dealer though as it was dealt with at 10K service time.
