  1. Jamboo... don't be silly now He's right Tango. I had a 250 yesterday while my 220 was in for a 5th injector change and ECU re-map. The 220 is definitely quicker.
  2. At Wolverhampton Steve? They were quite keen to do a deal on my IS220 a few weeks ago. Just couldn't get the payments down to the level I wanted though. I had a 250SE for a few hours yesterday. The auto V6 definitely seems the way to go. I'll give it a few months before trying a PX again.
  3. Si -did you get Gold discount? Mine cost £155 - if you didn't ask 'em, ask! PS - what MPG are you getting? Mine is now hitting mid 40's on a run at whatever speed :o 12900 miles completed since new... PPS - you know how I whinge about the servcing costs, well our little Nissan cost £193 for it's first service (OUCH) - and that's fixed prices by Nissan...can you believe it? I told them my Lex was cheaper and they laughed....b :tsktsk: ds Sometimes I just don't have the sense I was born with. I completely forgot to ask about the Gold discount. I'll see if I can sort it out on Tuesday when I take the car back to them. The MPG stabilised at 36 average over roughly 9000 miles. The garage reset the clock during the service and it's now saying 28 average. I'd rather have a Lexus than a Nissan (although I do like the 350Z TBH) It seems my LOC Gold discount had already been applied. Ho Hum. The car had the 5th injector replaced yesterday and an ECU re-map, I'm looking forward to seeing what effect the changes will have on economy. I like the fact that the car gets cleaned when it goes in to the dealers, I don't like the fact that the cleaner seems to have used a dirty rag to do the job. I mentioned it though and have been promised a free valet whenever I'd like to take the car back. Another issue though - my security wheel nuts have gone rusty. It looks terrible. Is anybody else having the same issue?
  4. Welcome to the club Al :) Congratulations on your purchase. The other IS250 Auto owners are, almost without exception I think, delighted with their cars. I'm sure you will be too. So... Has it got Multi-Media? What colour is it? Post some pics when you get it. We seem to like pics here.

  6. My 220 had it's 10K service yesterday - £176.28 I'd reported (as I'm sure we all have) the poor fuel economy and was told my 5th injector was clogged and it needed an ECU re-map. It's going back on Tuesday to get it done.
  7. Thanks Max. I've just been speaking to Lexus Wolverhampton to arrange a 10K service for next week and mentioned the problem. I'll reiterate when they pick up the car. Thanks for the advice though.
  8. Yes I think so. I hear it's a bit of a bother getting the key hole cover back on though. Don't go putting ideas into his head! I am grateful though. It was a very good call.
  9. You're a bloody genius! I vaguely remembered there was something. Well done that man. I'll buy you a pint if I ever get to meet you.
  10. That's what the RAC said. It'll be interference just roll it down the road and it should be ok. Now, bear in mind it's on my drive which, handily, is reasonably sloped. I jumped in the car and started to roll it backwards towards the road where I'll need to use a bit of right hand lock to get onto the road. First problem is that the brakes don't work with the engine off (well, not very well anyway), and more importantly I can't steer the bloody thing because the steering lock is on because it can't (or won't) see the key. I've given up on that idea.
  11. Hmmm! Just parked up at home and pressed the button on the door handle to lock the car, but nothing happened. Silly me, I thought, I must have left the key in the boot. But no! It was in my pocket. Oh well I'll just press the button on the key then - still nothing. Got back into the car and pressed the start button and was told the key hasn't been detected. OK, I thought, maybe the battery died, so I went and got the spare... still nothing. I'm still able to open the boot though using the exterior release (but can't when the key is elsewhere). So, dear fellow LOC members, has anybody come across this behaviour before? Do I call the RAC? Will it just fix itself? Very odd methinks!
  12. He's just reversing out! . . . . . He needs to take the car back to the dealer then to get his reversing lights fixed
  13. Mine is a Wolverhampton car. Reading Happyman's post made me wonder whether they routinely sort out the known problems. I'm 8 months and 8100 miles into my ownership and, so far, it's still perfect.
  14. They said that about Cruise controlwhen the XJ had it as standard in 1981...and then A/C, and even Satnav... It won't be long!! It'll be everywhere, then you'll be able to trust the missus with the car! 2007 minus 1981 = 26, added to my advancing years. I wonder, perhaps they will be standard spec. on mobility vehicles by then. Nice thought - Not! I'll be in my 70's :(
  15. You can't. Well, not unless you take the unit apart and rewire some stuff.
