  1. They should fit as I think the 18" alloys for the IS are exactly the same size and fitment as those GS alloys. Hopefully one of the IS owners with 18" alloys can confirm :)
  2. I'd check all the fuses before getting too worried - if it was the ECU would the engine even start?
  3. Yep it was basically a menu map for the galaxy ace off the orange site. Having had a number of android phones they all have that option, so it seems like Vodafone have disabled it for some reason. In any case glad it's all sorted now :)
  4. Hi Steve, yep my phone is different, on mine that option is called "USB Utilities" so different again! Got this off a quick google search, seems yours doesn't have the same menus as in this document either: LINK Sounds like whichever network you're on has disabled that option to choose how the phone responds to a USB connection which is odd, but perhaps simplifies things.......
  5. Glad you got it sorted! Going back to the earlier point though, in the wireless and networks menu, do you not have an option called "USB settings"? In there you should be able to specify how the phone reacts when it is connected to USB - the choices are Samsung Kies, Media Player, Mass Storage or Ask on connection. I think your phone was on "ask on connection" which is why you got the USB logo in the notifications bar - which as you've found means you have to drag down the notifications screen and select it to choose which method of connection you want. As an example if you switch it to "mass storage" then anytime you connect the phone it will automatically switch to mass storage mode. Either way happy it's fixed, hope you can get on with enjoying the phone now! :)
  6. That is lovely mate, quite a fan of those 6s (the new ones are hideous though!) Which engine do you have in it?
  7. Hi there, welcome to LOC! :) Just to get you started, first of all the IS200 Sport was never available as an auto, only the S and SE came with an auto option, the Sport was manual only. Engine-wise they are all identical, all 2ltr straight 6 with 153bhp. However as the manual is a 6 speed and the auto a 4 speed the manual is quite a bit faster - the manual does 60 in 9.something while the auto takes 11.2 to 60 (although I do agree it feels faster than the numbers might suggest) The PWR button simply makes the throttle a bit more sensitive, and makes the gearbox change up later and change down more eagerly, basically just makes it more responsive - unfortunately makes no difference to power whatsoever. Nice that you seem in good spirits but sorry to hear that you've lost a leg, glad you're enjoying the new car.
  8. In actual fact it's not vehicle based, either the car side can be set up to auto answer, or the phone can be set up to auto answer. When the car is set to auto answer, all it is effectively doing is telling the phone to answer via bluetooth. If the phone does it on its own, then it's the same end result. Doesn't matter which way round it is - give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised :)
  9. A quick google search uncovered this: You can activate automatic answer from Menu > Settings > Phone > Accessories > Headset > Automatic answer Let me know if it works! :)
  10. It's not really a safety feature though is it? Isn't there an answer button on the steering wheel? What kind of phone do you have? On my Galaxy S2 I can set it up so that it auto answers when connected to a headset and doesn't at other times, so it's possible you might be able to set your phone up to do this if the car doesn't support it.
  11. This appears to be the manual for the 2011 IS-F and no sign of an auto answer feature, could it have been removed with the newer navigation system? LINK
  12. Which version of Android is the Ace running? If you look in settings, then "about phone", scroll down and the version should be somewhere in the form of 2.x.x. Also when you go into settings, and then "wireless and network", what options do you have for USB, and what's in those when you select them?
  13. That's good news, hopefully it's just sticky or something, even if it needs replacement can't see it being too expensive to fix :)
  14. Did your focus have the rubber pads on the pedals? I've swapped out the rubber pedals for metal ones in my IS (similar to those in that CT) and haven't had any problems with grip on the pedals, the rubber pads offer just as much grip as the completely rubber ones I used to have. Have to agree about the suspension, I thought the handling was good for a car of that type and power, if anything needed improvement it was the compliance of the ride rather than handling (and somehow I can't see sports suspension fixing that!)
  15. I like the fact they haven't gone over the top with that, because it obviously isn't a very fast car. Will be interesting to see whether the different suspension makes it better or worse, given that the car is already criticised for being too hard. Would have liked to have seen some sports seats though, and perhaps different alloys rather than just the standard ones darkened. Is it my eyes, or does anyone else not see a flat-bottomed steering wheel?
  16. Not really sure if it's possible, but I know the parts are incredibly expensive so not really sure it would be worth it unless you know a way to get them cheap? In any case I didn't even know the RX had adaptive cruise as an option?
  17. I think the drivers are part of the Kies install so you'll probably need it on there, but I don't actually ever use Kies, just use it as a mass storage device and drag and drop stuff on or sync music with winamp. Check on the Samsung website as to whether you have been provided with the latest version of Kies, if not download the latest one and try that. LINK Btw, you don't need USB debugging, that's for when you want to do more advanced tinkering with the software Forgive me if I'm asking a silly question, but when you plug in and switch to mass storage, do you get the screen with the android and the "connect to PC" button at the bottom of the screen? In any case I really think this is a driver issue, I had almost exactly the same problem with my last phone (a galaxy S) and needed to get the latest Kies off the Samsung website before it worked.
  18. Is the GS like the IS in that the auto lights switch off when you open the door? If they're switching off and then back on again, it's probably a headlight problem. If they're not switching off at all, then it probably is the door switch.
  19. That sounds like the drivers haven't installed properly - I'd try uninstalling and installing again as a starting point. Even if the Kies connect doesn't work (Kies is a horrible piece of software that I generally avoid, and luckily with android you really don't need to plug in), the mass storage should work no problems (that's the only way I ever connect my phone, to transfer music or videos)
  20. Saw an almost identical event a few years ago, was waiting at a roundabout to pull out, see this impreza coming round from the right looking like its drifting, guy who obviously couldn't drive over corrected snapping the car in the opposite direction head on into the metal railings lining the roundabout. Also made me chuckle
  21. Yep they are, I've been using android for over 3 years now and think I've only actually paid for 2 apps. Which handset are you thinking of going for? Can highly recommend the galaxy s2 if your budget stretches to it :)
  22. Everything you need is in the Android market - link will be on phone already, click it, search for whatever you want and download away! Very similar in concept to the Apple app store, except the majority of apps are free :)
  23. Oddly the cars without nav have a mute button, while cars with nav don't have a mute button. Having said that though, our Merc has a mute button but I barely use it - switching the system on and off is just as quick and that has a bigger easier to find button!
  24. Yep they're much better than the standard HIDs I had before - if I can straighten them up it'll be even better :)
  25. They're all heated (unless the windscreen has been replaced with one without the heater) but as above only the bottom where the wipers are. What do you mean by the "sensor" on the mirror, IS200 doesn't have autodimming mirrors (except the LE) unless it's been fitted afterwards?
