  1. Success!! Denso DOX-0238 solved the problem. So I can recommend Worldcarparts.co.uk of Lincolnshire. Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Lexus No 89465-50130 Denso OEM 234-4630 or DOX-0238 Hope this helps somebody Ray
  2. Thanks for replying ROYT. Could not find any references to DOX Denso numbers on clublexus. The Denso carton I have is marked as made in Europe mybe the numbers are different in the US! Thanks anyway. What I really need is a list showing Lexus (Toyota) part numbers and the Denso DOX equivalent. Type DOX-238 into Google, some info there.. Tried google - thanks - but no specific info there. So fitted the part today - seems OK but will need to give the car a few cold starts to be sure - fingers crossed. Will post the results - Thanks ROYT for your kind assistance Ray

  5. The engine light came on in my 2002 LS430. So I plugged in a scanner and came up with the code PO155 - 02 Sensor heating circuit malfunction (Bank 2 sensor 1) i.e Drivers side front Oxygen sensor. I then looked up a table that some kind person had put on this forum which showed a Lexus/Toyota part number of 89465-50130. I contacted the local Lexus dealer and was quoted a price of £214.84 excluding VAT. The table also quoted a Denso equivalent 234-4630. After much searching I found a company called World car parts in Lincoln who quoted me £82.02 including delivery. They seemed very efficient and the part arrived by UPS yesterday. My problem is that the only number on the Denso box is DOX-0238 so I am concerned that I have the right part. I have searched high and low for this number on the web but no joy. Could anyone please tell me if this part will fit before I start work Best Wishes Ray
  6. The Sat Nav disc is in a box in the right hand side of the boot. You will need to undo a couple of screws and lift the unit to enable you to press the eject button and get the disc out. The cheapest way to buy a new disc is via the internet using www.lexus-mapupdates.eu. If you key in the numbers of the old disc it will give you details of updates and a price.I bought a new disc from here and it was delivered in a couple of days - considerably cheaper than using the dealer network.
  7. The Engine light in my LS430 is on. I have used a scanner which comes up with the code P0155 - Sensor heater circuit malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1) I think this is pre cat (front) on the drivers side. I would appreciate it if someone can confirm if I have got the right location so as I can be sure to buy the correct replacement. Incidentally the car seems to run perfectly and recently passed the MOT with the light on. Any help will be appreciated Ray
  8. If a garage calls itself a specialist in a particular make then surely they should be willing and able to do more than standard servicing. My LS430 and my mates LS400 are serviced by Breckland Autos in Attleborough. No fancy premises but do the job and specalise in electronics. Ring 01953 455845 and ask for Glynn Morgan who should be able to tell you what services they can provide. Prices were slightly less than Roys.
  9. I took my 2002 LS430 to the Lexus "specialist" you mention in Norwich for a full service. When I went to collect it I noticed on starting the car the VSC warning light and engine light was on. They told me it was because I needed a CO2 sensor and they would order one and contact me to arrange fitting. This explanation did not seem quite right to me so I took the car to another garage (recommended by a friend with an LS400) They thought that someone has plugged in the wrong diagnostics tool and confused the electronics. They turned off the warning lights with their equipment and I had no further problems. Incidentally Roys never did ring me back. Maybe I got them on a bad day but they won't be touching my car again!!
  10. The workshop manual states the following - This circuit opens and closes the Intake Air Control valve (AICV) in response to the engine load in order to increase the intake efficiency (ACIS Acoustic control induction system) When the engine speed is 4700rpm or more and the throttle valve opening is 60 degrees or more the the VSC is off, so the IAVC is open. All the other times the ECM turns the VSC ON and closes AIVC. It seems this code could be triggered by a short circuit in the harness, a faulty valve (AICV) or a faulty ECU. Other more qualified members may be able to advise you what to do in this case - but personally if the engine light is not flashing and the car is running OK I would do nothing for a while and see how things develop. Regards Ray
  11. My 2002 LS430 has electric folding mirrors which can be set to auto so that they retract and open when the car is started or they can be manually retracted for parking in tight spots. I am pretty certain they are a standard fitment
