  1. A little late but just got my copy, pretty good article!
  2. For those who want auto wipers, consider this piece of kit. RainTracker
  3. This is oddly not the first time I heard of this, I think Lazyboy reported the same problem a while back. You two should compare wireless router brand and maybe frequency channel, might be able to find a common cause.
  4. Top Gear is turning into a motoring entertainment program then an actual motoring program, which I think is pretty good for what it is. Fortunately there is always Fifth Gear for the proper stuff, ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh Vikki
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't only Sport models have LSD?
  6. I used Archenemy for a lip roll and I can recommend the service, WIM is using the same guy for the work done down south.
  7. Received an email from pascha, looks like the venue has changed. http://www.nuembrecht.com/ From Google Translate:
  8. While the figures are defo not right, but do the lines of the graphs mean that in general that doesn't appear to be problems (ie slipping belt) other then a lower then expected performance across the board, thus most likely cause is lost of boost?
  9. All information is available from the hotel website, use an online translator if necessary (like me I don't know any German). In this page there is the long/lang info. http://winterscheider-muehle.de/ge/anfahrt-anreise.html
  10. Is there an effective way of measuring boost along the pipework? The hoses have been checked and tightened, but as I'm had done some damage to the intercooler before (by a speed bump), not sure if there might be some undetected leakage from it. I'm guessing measuring the boost from before and after the intercooler should be able to determine that?
  11. I did ask if they were wheel or flywheel figures, I was told it was flywheel, and I was told there is about 20-30bhp from tranmission lost, so I'm told the wheel figures would be minus that. Doesn't seem right as that would mean the car is back to nearly the default 153bhp? So either I'm totally misunderstanding it, or there is some disconnect between the tester and me. The fuel reading was read from a seperate box, the sensor was plugged to the first lambda sensor before the precat. Due to limitations of the rather ancient equipment/software they use, it's not plotted on the graph. The FCD setting recommendation is more based on the fueling level rather then bhp/torque figures, as you commented hardly a huge difference.
  12. For those wondering which FCD setting is ideal, I have gone out and dynoed my car on different settings, hope you find these useful. Engine mods: TTE compressor Prolex uprated intercooler K&N panel filter HKS FCD For reference: Rolling road conducted at Northampton Motorsport. Ran in fifth gear. Bhp figures are at flywheel. Machine is a Sunramp (described by owner as old/ancient, but more accurate than Dyno Dynamics.). FCD settings from 9 to 12. Fueling situation, running a little lean through the range, but top end is good, although at half throttle it's then running a little too rich, so overall fuelling isn't ideal. Not sure if this is specific to my car (a duff?). So in summary if you are using an FCD, use setting 10 or 11, the original recommendation of 8 or 9 heading towards too lean. Any questions? Feel free to ask but can't say if I know the answers to any of them. I have some questions though for those out there who knows more then I do. Do these figures mean I have a sick or normal car? I have to admit I'm an absolute dud when it's comes to anything technical. The TTE claimed 200bhp figure? Is it at the engine/flywheel/somewhere? BHP Torque
  13. Check the IS wheel size guide. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...p?showtopic=637
  14. Unless you bought your car "as is", most used car dealerships would offer some sort of warranty wouldn't they? I got my leaky water pump replaced for free under a 6 month warranty. Surely the prop/crankshaft/diff that might be busted aren't classified as "consumables".
  15. If memory serves me right, you only got your IS about a month ago. My deepest sympathies
  16. Congrats on becoming a grandfather
  17. Yes I do have the Janspeed, it is a cat back rather then just the backbox. Sound-wise it's pretty quiet until you really push it, and the tip is hardly any bigger then OEM. So if you like me want to be really discreet go for it, otherwise something else is more suitable.
  18. Is it the one you mentioned at the Midlands meet? Is it a done deal? If so, I'm riding shotgun :P
  19. For those planning to head down the M1, you may want to consider taking a detour from J11 to avoid the roadworks (50mph limit with SPECS cameras), set a travel via waypoint for the village "Dagnall". Some nice winding B roads and good scenery to make it an enjoyable drive compared to the mudane motorways, and most likely take only an extra 15 mins (less if you end up in a jam on the M1 in comparison). I will try to join the convoy, as I'm only 2 junctions down at J15.
  20. What I don't understand is, Reality TV as a whole is regarded as 1 of the top 5 most hated things on TV (if I remember correctly from reading on the net), yet there are still tons of them. There are some good exceptions like The Apprentice, but far outweights by crap like BB, Peter & Katie, etc.
  21. I'm with Adrain Flux and they didn't have a problem with I declared mine a Cat 1, which is standard (and is better then Cat 2).
