  1. It's only £8 each plus postage from a ebay UK seller - davkel66, I bought 6 for £52 including postage. I did read somewhere on the forum though that some got them from eBay US for around £30-£40 total, think the seller is creativeperformance or something close.
  2. Just out of curosity as I used to drive one, is it the old shape or new shape Focus? Both the ST170 and the new ST can match IS200 speedwise, and particularly on the old ST170 hard to tell the difference lookwise other then the badge at the back.
  3. In the same boat you are need 8N8, how feasible is it to respray them to different colour, and at what potential cost? Chris.S you got the part number for this? When I tried describing it to the parts dept at Lexus Leicester, they thought I was from outer space
  4. Pampered my car today, started off with a major service at Lexus Leicester this morning (and treated myself to the gym next door while waiting), got my clear LS430 indicators, mudflaps and Oasis blue 8N8 touch up paint, then feft Leicester for a visit to STS Watford for a geometry adjustment in the afternoon. On my way back I noticed a real improvement in handling on the M1, no more floaty feeling at speeds, and inspire a lot more confidence on the road, the way an IS200 should! Pretty sure I'm preaching to the choir here, but if you haven't done a geometry adjustment yet then get it done by Tony ASAP, you won't regret it!
  5. I have this, a Griffon Smartdeck. http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/smartdeck/ It's at a sticker price shock of £20 on the net, but the reviews have been very favourable, and you can control your ipod with the radio buttons, which is handy if your ipod is not in easy reach.
  6. For piece of mind without the hole in your pocket, try AutoAid only £32: http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/ Covers the person not the car, great if you have multiple vehicles, free cover for spouse/partner, onward transportation included, home breakdown recovery (limited to £45 max), and did I mention it's only £32. All you got to do is pay up front and claim back later, anyway as you said you don't expect to break down in your Lex do you? I have a policy, flat battery in my old Focus after a 3 week holiday, cost me £45 to have someone come jump it, that itself paid for my whole year's policy! For other cheap and more conventional breakdown cover, try these options! http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/v...094823518,14076, Otherwise Gold members have discount with a major recovery service, check it out.
  7. Let us know how you get on with these new tyres, as I will need new tyres soon too, and I wouldn't paying a little bit more if they are really good.
  8. Anyone got pics of how these new washer jets look like? I have an 02 plate and my jets are 3 holes each, are these the new or old washer jets?
  9. Which stores stock them? Found them at etyres.com, at £106 a pop fitted they aren't cheap, when you consider Goodyear Eagle F1s are only £96 each from the same site, I thought Toyo is suppose to be a cheaper option to the more established brands!
  10. £606 is very good, and I would have taken it for my IS as the 60K service alone costs around £650 for the dealership that offered me this deal, but looking back £1100 means the 50K and 70K service would have cost me £225 each (more if I have my 60K done at Hanley for £450ish), not such a great deal then.
  11. Looks settled then, dealer thanks but no thanks, and thanks to those who commented.
  12. I have been offered the following service plan by a dealer, 3 services for just about £1K, details below. £1102.37 total £320.39 deposit £41.XX monthly payments X19 APR 0% Is this a bargain or rip-off?
  13. I hope you didn't find my previous message offensive in anyway, as I didn't mean that at all. Just that I'm already coming on the 5th, I won't be attending on the 3rd. I hope that clears it up.
  14. If I only knew a meet is scheduled for the 3rd! When I called to book an appointment earlier this week I was told you would be on holiday for the whole week, so I booked my car in for Monday the 5th instead!
  15. I'm planning to purchase a Quanan 2040 system for my IS200, but per recommended by a website that I might need a relay to protect the bulb failure monitoring system. http://parking-e.co.uk/accessories.asp Search for "relay", so do I need one? Can anyone recommend other reputable stores I can get a set of this parking system? What is a good place to mount the display? I have seen pics of it in the ashtray and places along the centre console, but read somewhere a recommended place is on the b pillar above the passenger belt. Does anyone have pics of how that looks like?
  16. Will you be doing a brake upgrade kit with your dicsc and TOM's pads and not mintex ones?
  17. I might need to adjust mine abit, since the makers claim it shouldn't be a problem either.
  18. I would advise clip on ones which can be easier to remove if you change your mind later, and they fit to the inside to the channel where the windows go which makes it much sleeker. Check them out here http://www.climairuk.com/climair/home.php Yes they are heck more expensive then the ones on ebay, but I got them on mine front and rear and I think they are great, mind though the auto window close feature on your driver door would think it's a jam and bounce back open, so just close the window without using the auto feature. I will try to provide a pic of the deflectors later. And since you are a Gold Member, think you can get a discount from gbdrivers.com for the front and rear sets.
  19. Is inner edge balding an instant MOT failure? If I bring my car to service and the dealer spots it, am I allowed to drive away and have the tyre replaced elsewhere, or are they legal obligated to replace it?
  20. Does anyone know if the inner tyre wear is a MOT failure or not? Or if the dealer spotted it are you allowed to drive off and have the tyre replaced elsewhere (in case if they are under any legal obligation to have you fix it before leaving)? How much is a full geometry check and adjustment at STS Stapleton with wheelsinmotion? Do you have to book in advance or just show up?
  21. Lexus Hanley quotes the following price for IS200 and IS300 http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=30702 If your nearest dealer quotes something way above the listed price, just tell them that you got a quote elsewhere. I got originally quoted £415 from 1 of the dealers near me, and after I said the price Lexus Hanley was doing, they lowered it to £300!
  22. Having done some research on HID conversion kits and came across several articles like this saying how bad and dangerous it is: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bu...onversions.html Can anyone clarify if the issues raised are not concerns for the IS200s?
  23. B)--> QUOTE(T7RY B @ Feb 11 2007, 09:08 AM) ← First of all. Welcome to LOC. Nice choice of motor. Having the tracker fitted is always a plus point. Regarding prices there are a couple of guys on here who have trackers fitted and I am sure they will be along to advise. Enjoy your car and LOC Terry Which tracker is best? Tracker, Trackstar or mTrack?
  24. Have you been using your winter tyres throughout the winter? If so may you share your experience of them (dry/wet performance, road noise, etc.), and whether you think there is a definte advantage over summer tyres?
  25. From what I have read on the net, this for example: http://www.tyres-online.co.uk/techinfo/winter.asp Our typical (summer) tyres aren't very suitable to temp under 7 celcius, so winter tyres can/should be used from around November to March? I think some winter tyres have properties of all-season tyres so they can also cope with warm spells during this period. Countries like Holland have similar weather to us but the % of people using winter tyres is much higher than the UK, and I believe that this may be one of the reasons why they cope much better in bad weather (ice, snow) then we do. I'm sure someone will correct me.
