  1. Apologies if posted already - mods please lock/remove of so... https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-uk-statement-on-vehicle-theft/
  2. I've used this before on cars. etc. Works wonders. Not sure about Lexus stopping using grease on the door straps as have seen it recently on new and used cars at a number of dealerships... WD40 White Lithium Grease
  3. There's quite a few sellers on likes of Aliexpress that seem to do the trick - anyone tried?? I was after the same solution for the UX... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005180866978.html?pdp_npi=3%40dis!USD!US %2442.94!US %2442.94!!!!!%40211b813f17057803967015706e9540!12000031996728534!im!! Seems really silly to skip on such a thing...
  4. I was at Lexus Swindon on Saturday and the chap said it had indeed been reserved on certain conditions...
  5. Just to close out the topic...so was about to order the mat. Turns out the car does indeed have a subwoofer so made the ordering a little tricky. In the end went with the OEM one from Lexus. Not perfect for the use case but had to get something sharpish. A special big thank you to Barry @Navnan2 for all the advice and help
  6. I came across the below posting from ColinB...but just been on the shops website (https://www.bootsliners.co.uk/LEXUS-UX-BOOT-LINER.html) but they are offering a "200" and "250" option. Confused as the UK only ever had the 250h. I thought perhaps they could be referring to models with/without the subwoofer?? My new car is from March 2020 without the Mark Levinson... Anyway, can anyone please shed any light if it's just the 250h version I need to oder from them? Or perhaps recommend any others? Cheers.
  7. Cheers Daniele. Nice insight. Have saved them for future reference and comparison
  8. Cheers Don. Thankfully my Dad has had the pain/pleasure of using similar in his 2011 RX wrt the whole trackpad experience. I do miss the touchscreen in my gen 2 RX but I guess since then so much more tech/functions have needed to be added that things have had to be crammed in.
  9. Excellent! Much appreciated for putting together Colin. Very useful. Shame they don't do more RFT versions of all-seasons 😞
  10. Thanks for the info James. Good point as I had noticed that the electric variety did seem cheaper and I couldn't understand why. Their use-case though may be an issue due to the sub 200 mile range here. Will have a chat though. That Reflex company also sounds like a decent option. Will deffo save that in my favourites.
  11. Morning. So my folks had a scare just before Christmas. T-boned at a junction (see pics) on the way back after collecting my 9 year old lad. THANKFULLY all OK 🙏 Lad took bit of a bruising though from the impact/airbags going off as he was sat in the rear left and typical kid likely to have been leaning on the door. Anyway, their RX did its job and protected everyone Currently waiting for it to be assessed but really can't see this amount of damage being buffed out... SO...on the look out for a replacement. Dad wants to stick to Lexus (great) but this time get something smaller. New RX and NX remain too big so was looking at a (used) UX. Been to see a few and have a couple shortlisted - criteria being full leather (at a push the F Sport suede/leather split), nav (preferably the big screen variety), parking sensors front and rear and needs to be sub £20k (and still don't know what the insurance payout will be). Everything else is a bonus. However, wanted to get your views on a few things please so reaching out to my forum brethren... Anyone please have a PDF brochure/spec sheets from when it was launched? Likely looking at 2019/20/21 model cars. Run flats - HATED these on the 5 series I had but I guess a necessity these days. Have had all-seasons fitted on cars but can only find some Conti's in the 225/50/18 sizing for the UX. Anyone had any luck with other brands (currently run Goodyear 4 Seasons and Michelin CrossClimates). Interior wear - in the cars seen so far it doesn't seem to matter whether it's done sub 20k miles or above 70K, the wear on the gear selector and steering seems excessive (super shiny/worn leather). How have you folk generally been holding up with the interior trim? Keep hearing about the canbus attacks on the RX, ES and NX. Presuming the UX is also affected?? Cheers, Noman
  12. I had mine done by the dealer in the end - tied it up with a service so it reduced the overall cost. One thing to note is that I was told the car needs to be "on" during the process, possibly for a few hours. So this automatically stopped me doing the DIY route. Worth a check.
  13. Had the exact same advisories on the fronts and then the rears this year when the RX went into Lexus. THANKFULLY both times covered under warranty (which unfortunately has now finished). It annoyed me massively that they don't replace the rubber parts and you have to replace the WHOLE part. They have this approach on a number of other things that affect other models too (I remember my GS300 also suffering). As the cars get older it's this kind of thing that will effectively write them off. Appreciate all parts have a finite life but these things are consumables IMO.
  14. Exhaust wise, go to this chap: https://www.tonybanks.co.uk/ OK, so they're in Leeds but they really are fab, know their stuff and will be a fraction of the cost. I used them and so have quite a few forum members
  15. Sorry to hear this. When I had my GS (08 GS300 SE-L) mine too had issues with brake pipe corrosion, heat shield and the subframe... Brake pipes - a little tricky but an indy could sort same with the heat shield. However, the subframe - mine was ultimately terminal as well. Any repairs would only see another year or so before needing total replacement, along with suspension mounts. And that's assuming you can find someone to essentially drop the back end of the car. So had to get rid. Such a shame as the rest of the car looked fresh as a daisy. SO annoying many Japan origin cars suffer from so much rot. My current car (Honda Accord MK8 2008) is also heading that way 😞 So unless you can get super reasonable folk to do a large amount of work it's bad news from my experience. I was very lucky mine was still within a MOT period but if yours has a failed MOT things become particularly bothersome. Advice would be to call a few mechanics that do welding and see if they can do something to just get the MOT ticket...and then get rid.
  16. Yep. That's the button. Super rare option - along with the pano roof on sport models I must have only seen either 2 or 3 times. Retro upgrade i'm presuming would be many thousands - parts + coding/calibration might make it not really a viable option.
  17. Only just picking up this news. Many condolences to John's family. Always very helpful and encouraging. Loved his banter. He will be really missed...
  18. Deffo keep an eye on them. Lexus on the 450h don't just replace the rubber...they do the whole part at considerable expense. Check the following out when it happened to me:
  19. Original quote for me was also around the £160 mark. However, see if you can get it done when you're getting the service sorted and/or other work and you're likely to get a further discount like I did
  20. Turns on the heater elements where the wipers come to a rest. Idea is that you turn it on and it defrosts the wipers (a little) to avoid you ripping your wipers when they're frozen solid...
  21. Sounds like they could well be replacing a great many things as that's what the guide book says. As suggested take it to a reputable exhaust fabricator type place. I used Tony Banks in Leeds so likely not practical for you London way but i'm sure there will be plenty around you. Cheers.
  22. Like others the extended warranty gave me peace of mind and kind of fixed-costs for the coming year or so. JUST by chance I had put in for an extension to the warranty on the RX about a month ago - two years to run from this October. So for the time being I'm OK. However, going forward it looks like long term ownership could be affected particularly for folk like me who keep their cars for a good while. It just seems that Lexus are going down the same road as many others and seeing car ownership as more of a lease/rental thing - i.e. "it's a monthly cost' like phones, etc. While I'm sure it works for lots of folk it doesn't for me.
  23. That's easy - the Cayenne by a long way 😉 The general handling, ride, brakes, etc. were so much better than the RX (even when compared to the latest IMO). However, my 2nd gen RX (300, 04 plate, SE-L) was the winner if you just want to waft along (and it still puts many to shame)! One bonus I also found were the residuals with the Porsche. Would recommend driving both air sprung and non-air riding Cayenne's along with cars with/without PASM (their suspension management system). I found, for my driving at least, I preferred cars without air.
