  1. I'll try it... I have comprehensive stats for 95Ron fuel in terms of MPG, costs, mileage..... So next week i'll fill up with the expensive stuff.... couple of questions though.. I've heard that it takes a couple of tanks before the differences take effect? Would i need an ECU reset? Also, which one shall I use? i have an Esso near by home, and a tesco up where I work.... any real differences?
  2. haha :D I used to work in IT support, i had one chap in a client meeting ring the helpdesk, asking for help about the projector..... He was being all flash and confident as he kinda has to be infront of the clients sat round this flash meeting board room style table.... So I walk all the way down, knock on the door, and he says.... "ahh here is IT, the projector isnt working... we really need to start our meeting.." So I take a look it... and press a button..... it sparks up "oh its working now, what did you do.... " he says, loud enough to have everyone else stop what they are doing and listen in waiting for an answer from me.... so I paused, looked at him and said... "i pressed the on button"....... and his face was a picture, the room starts to laugh and chuckle... his confidence just flew out the window.. bless him! but anyway nice post! :)
  3. All great and well that it seems to be serviced now, but how about its history? Has it been serviced good and well in the past? if yes, 168k is not a problem Good luck :)
  4. hahahha, i agree, when he fell off the ladder... brilliant.... i love the little pause, where you think he might have made it... but no!
  5. I thought that might be the case, before I made this post. So I checked my windscreen, and it still has the Lexus Logo on the lower left side. Does that mean I can assume my screen has not been changed? Where is the said control box Stav, ill try and find it and check its state.
  6. I do like your work P.Lindblom, always very prepared and concise! Good job! :)
  7. Hello all, I was inside my house last night, walking up to my room, when I was passing a window in the house that over looks my driveway and spotted in the corner of my eye a bright flash... I took a closer look and found that my car was flashing its headlights, there was no routine in the flashes it was just random and at times flickering. I went outside, unlocked the car, started it up, put the lights on, and set the lights stalk to "off" instead of leaving it on "auto". it seemed to fix the "problem", but I'm unsure. Anyone suffered from this, or have any idea what might cause it? Any help welcome! Thanks Signing out, a confused Vyker
  8. Is that the TRD lip? I thought they were alot more pricey.... @ £120 from a dealer, thats not bad! Who knows, i might even go for it.
  9. Whoops, i logged in and forgot to check back to it....
  10. What i think really needs to be asked is, what was the IS first to do.... The competition in 1999 was this... Now looking at that, the IS was the first to have the light clusters behind perspex plastic, where the lights are actually a design rather then a bulb behind smoked plastic. it was also the first to give standard 17" alloys, first with standard closing wing mirrors, and folding sat nav screen. I think back in 1999, people were mad to go into a Audi showroom to pick up that Audi over the IS!
  11. Dan, I'm in the same boat as you mate..... Id like a new setup like tHomBleached's, which by the way, is very cool. But then I worked out what i would need, and it's proving too pricey. Fargo's Satnav bypass unit £55 AutoLeads Facia, £20 Wozza style facia mod gear £20 Amp bypass lead £25 New HU, £180 [i'm keen on the Parrott RK8200] so thats a total of £300... alot of money!
  12. Just been through the last couple of pages... Glad you all had fun, and the pics are great. Nice find of those professional pics! very cool :)
  13. just get a pre-2002 E-Class, same thing only built better!
  14. The result of leaving my belt after 95k. Hope it goes well mate!
  15. here you go, this is what was changed in the facelift of 7/2001 http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-...e/m_in_0002.pdf also, http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-05 this link, is the CD that you can buy of eBay, had i known it was online, i probably wouldn't have bought mine [thanks to Tony Montana for finding it]
  16. Well, i do both heavy city driving and long motorway runs, so i guess i can fit into both categories. Mine is a manual. I thought about the sticking caliper aswell, from all the posts we often come across about it on here, but I thought id slowly whittle out all the potential possibilities. Just had a few chats with some people at work here, and they are saying they have gotten 30 odd thousand miles out of a set of brakes. So maybe its not my brakes.
  17. Hello all, How long, generally, do brake pads last? I had mine fitted 17k miles ago, but I'm noticing now that I get judder and steering shakes under heavy braking, in some extreme case where there is uneven surfaces the steering would shoot to the left and require heavy correction. Am I looking at a new set or have I got other issues? Any help, as ever, would be great. Thanks
