  1. The £60 a time for a Lexus dealer normally includes tyre storage in that price. If you just want them swapped over then my dealer charged £15
  2. Looks amazing! Glad gone to such a good home
  3. Very poor indeed - they covered them on my old RX on extended warranty - bet you they have slipped that clause in because the wheels are a constant source of warranty claims! Apologies for not getting it sorted in the 3 year warranty part - I truly hadn't noticed it at all!
  4. Hi Jaroslav, The 19" staggered wheels are standard fit on an ISF, not sure it they would go straight on a IS250 - I would imagine so but you'd need to check at a Lexus dealer. That said the 19" alloys are forged and very expensive - I did see a set once on Ebay for £1k, think 4-5k at dealers. I only have the tyres for sale. Pic of wheels
  5. No they are just under 3mm so have about 1-1.5mm left before illegal but loss of performance of a tyre is well above the legal minimum so I generally consider under 3mm is time to replace. (AA says drop in performance from 3mm should replace at least at 2mm http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/safety/tyre-life-and-age.html) Enquired with Lexus UK and they said anything above legal so would advise anyone buying just to check them all very carefully because as far as Lexus is concerned if it passes an MOT it's fine. Just to add, they haven't done anything wrong and it's all legal, just one of those things where I generally buy my cars direct from Lexus dealerships thinking you get far more piece of mind but over last few purchases reckon there is no difference to any other dealer and they just want the cars sold as profitably as possible. Also noticed they don't even give a full 12 months MOT - if car already has one then again that is all good. All minor things but I know other dealerships that always put 12 months MOT on and make sure tyres etc are good enough you have at least a fair few months on them.
  6. Hi All, As you probably saw my ISF has gone to a good home with another LOC member Alan. Alan didn't want the winter tyres as has another car for winter use. That said I have a set of very lightly used winter tyres: Item: Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 255/35 R19 96V XL (Wi) Quantity: 2 Item: Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 225/40 R19 93V XL (Wi) Quantity: 2 They are currently being stored at Lexus Sidcup, purchased in November last year and have only done about 500-750 miles. Looking for £500 Many thanks, Matt
  7. Sorry yep it was the RT I looked at: http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?s_p=Dunlop-Sport-Maxx-RT-215_45-R17-91Y-XL-with-rim-protection-_MFS_&details=Ordern&typ=R-235174&cart_id=38501403.110.18356&ranzahl=4&Breite=215&Quer=45&Felge=17&Load=87&Speed=W&weiter=0&Ang_pro_Seite=10&sort_by=Lable_3sound&Transport=P&dsco=110&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&search_tool=vnpsearch Look very good tyres, just wondering if better to sacrifice some performance overall for the all season ones, don't fancy buying another set for winter and want something that will still work fairly well with a bit of snow on the ground..... Hmm decisions decision :)
  8. Thanks for the detailed answer! Yep very confusing system - when it came out thought it should be dry grip, wet grip, rolling resistance, and db categories. I liked the look of the Dunlop Sport Maxx but also strongly thinking of All Season as can't be bothered having two sets. Got any experience with these? http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=2810690.110.7042&sowigan=GAN&Breite=215&Quer=45&Felge=17&Speed=&Load=87&kategorie=&ranzahl=4&tyre_for=&x_tyre_for=&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&search_tool=vnpsearch&Label=E-C-68-1&details=Ordern&typ=R-167800
  9. It's not 2 weeks old just that I only bought it 2 weeks ago :)
  10. I have never understood tyre choices in the UK, cannot see any reason why all cars in this country shouldn't have All Season tyres as standard, we must be the most appropriate place for them! Our summers are never overly wonderful, it can be rainy and crap at any point in the year, the winters can be snowy but invariably are not that bad for that long.
  11. 2 week old pre cert car already heading to needing new front tyres (should have checked the car far more thoroughly - for some reason I tend to trust Lexus dealers but not sure why, think might actually start getting an AA car check even from main dealer) Anyway ignoring the reason - what would people suggest tyre wise? Stick with the OEM or is there a better choice?
  12. If I ever head up that way I might just have to take you up on that :) No probs, so much paperwork sorting with cars! Amusingly been to McDonalds drive through in the CT and the girl commented on what a nice car I had - felt like saying, you should have seen the previous one ;) Enjoy the car!
  13. Congratulations! Beautiful car and miss it lots already ;( Always nice knowing that when you sell a nice car it is going to someone who will love it and look after it though!
  14. Defiantly is. Pretty sure ratios are different in manual as well. Gives the driver far better throttle control and more access to instant grunt. It can't alter the ratios but the big difference is full lock up from 2nd gear upwards in manual mode. When you are in normal drive the gearbox acts as any normal torque convertor so you lose some power (but it makes it much nicer for traffic and normal driving than a dual clutch)
  15. Very sorry all but it looks like I won't be there, long story short but I was contacted some time back through LOC about possibly selling my car - things were still up in the air about when it would occur right up until yesterday, sadly (for me) the new owner is picking up the car this morning after a very long drive. They know about the meet so you never know, my car might still make an appearance if they decide to stop off on the way back? If the timings work out right I'll still try and pop along as i'm heading past at some point as going to Lexus Woodford to pick up a new car - nothing along ISF leagues, a CT. Thought it would make a good run around especially while saving for an RCF ;) If don't get to see you all hope you have a great meet - looks like good weather as well - shame, would have made a lovely last memory with my car.
  16. Found the USB MP3 system terrible in the Lexus - infotainment really is one of their weakest points. In the end just started streaming music from phone via bluetooth, much better :)
  17. Agree with what you're saying but it is important to remember when Lexus launched with the LS it was the best luxury car in the world, it demolished the german offerings etc, this was achieved by Lexus setting out to build the best car in the class from scratch. If they want to do it they could, if they want to be the best then they need to put the effort in, I think they have turned a new page tbh - the roll out of new models over the next few years is impressive and I am very much looking forwards to hearing about the RCF but they need the move the game along to stay leaders in the hybrid field.
  18. This is a good example of where they are loosing ground, new S Class Merc just released a plug in: http://www5.mercedes-benz.com/en/vehicles/passenger-cars/the-s-500-plug-in-hybrid-s-class/?csref=_sm:in_gbls500hybrid_twr_kw32_pc Tiny running costs (ignoring the massive depreciation of course lol ) no longer is the LS the hybrid king - I love Lexus and really hope they move with the times on these for the next gen, they missed it with NX and IS but if the new CT, GS and RX launch without plugin then I think they will rapidly loose ground. They are in a great position to capitalise of the shift against diesel with talk of increasing road tax and congestion charge, they just need to make it.
  19. I think there is confusion between adding plug in capability to a hybrid like the prius plug in and pure electric / range extenders. Adding plug in capabilities to a Lexus Hybrid would offer little down side if they can keep the additional battery / tech required to under £5k If you use the car for short journeys (think 10-20 miles) you can just use the car as electric never needing to use petrol. Anything over that then the engine just kicks in and the car operates exactly as before. The only difference is the batteries have more capacity and you can charge them externally rather than only by the engine / brake regen.
  20. I'm surprised Lexus hasn't moved onto this already - it still amazes me even the next gen like the NX aren't being launched with plug in capability. How much of a Lexus uptake increase would there have been if all of the model range was £0 road tax with £5,000 government incentive?
  21. Finally! Annoyed the hell out of me with the whole 'diesel' is greener than petrol because is produces less CO2 - humans produce CO2, it's the particulates and NOx that destroy your lungs...
  22. I'm still in, meeting in the multi storey same place as last time? (still gutted I was parked 50ft away from you lot last time and didn't know)
  23. Saw this vid on Pistonheads, was shocked to see not 1 but 2 ISF's in the clips, also looks like the C63 is struggling to keep pace with them round the ring ;)
  24. It's a deadlocking function, has been the same on Toyota / Lexus cars for many many years. First press locks the doors and alarms, second press activates deadlocks - with deadlocks the doors cannot be opened from the inside so even if someone breaks a window they cannot open the door to get in. The satellite switch to the right hand side of the wheel is where you can find the option to turn off internal sensor should you want to leave animal or child in car but lock the door, it re-enables itself the next time.
