  1. Sounds good, I should be there 👍 (16th) missis and little one in tow :)
  2. Had a lifetime on previous ISF, it lasts for as long as you own the car, think it was £99 per year or £299 lifetime I believe so if you plan to keep more than 3 years you will be better of with lifetime. It's not transferrable but I think they give you discount on moving to a new car though.
  3. Click the switch you use to select which side mirror you want to alter that is what turns the mirrors dropping when selecting reverse. For the warning, have had 2 different actions depening on how old the car is, my RX you had to accept before displayed but then it was always on the satnav anyway so just pressed it when started the car, the ISF shows the message but auto times out after a few secs anyway (think the change was about 2010)
  4. I actually got insurance cheaper than my car tax this year......never though I would be saying that lol (Admiral)
  5. Not sure but it would have made a big difference to the ISF, believe even as far as the auto box stays in torque converter rather than locking up from 2nd onwards. Would be interesting to see same race with them both fully prepped :)
  6. Welcome! Something must have been odd with the original Lexus Edgeware road one if it was a 2008 blue as blue wasn't launched till 2010. For your satnav they made a big change in 2010 as well for HDD but other than that just the 2 models.
  7. You are def better off putting coilovers on, lot of discussion and details on the best ones to fit on the American Club Lexus forums. Have owned both and even though there is improvement the adjustable ones will give you a better ride still.
  8. Was never available on the ISF even 2011 with DRL, still the same button.
  9. The white, red and blue look amazing, also saw an atomic silver and that actually looked like liquid metal, beautiful. Still undecided about Orange, would have to see in real life i reckon :)
  10. Can't commit yet but will keep my eyes on the thread :)
  11. I saw this video on the BMW site, almost had to register an account to comment but couldn't be bothered. I would really have liked to see a more accurate race between these two, my main issues being (and a few others have noted in the comments) he hasn't even put the damn car in Sport mode, let alone flicked the thing over to manual. You go out in normal mode and do a run and then do the same in Sport with full manual there is a significant difference. I think they obviously wanted the result they got...
  12. Actually they were 2013 changes, but found this: Exhaust emissions: Vehicle meets the requirements for exhaust emissions, dependent on the age and fuel type of the vehicle. Exhaust system: Secure. Complete. Catalyst missing where one was fitted as standard. Without serious leaks and is not too noisy. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/195074/CONT071791.pdf
  13. I've read a bit about it, in many ways it is a positive thing however it isn't if you happen to like modding your car. They are bringing it in for all the modern electronic components that don't get tested. If your car has ABS but it doesn't work and the lights on in the dash then the car would still pass but after it would fail. The drawback is adding options to your car can now actually make it harder for MOT in the future, TPS for example. http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20130402174401/http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/repository/CHANGES%20TO%20THE%20MOT%20TEST%20EFFECTIVE%20FROM%2020%20MARCH%202013.pdf
  14. I'm so gutted, didn't see the meet notice - I was actually there (the 5th ISF was mine!) was gutted I missed the notice but knowing that I was actually in Bluewater shopping when you lot were having your meet is even worse :(
  15. This is something I will never understand, if all it takes to increase the car performance as suggested above to 450 bhp by wacking on a new intake and exhaust then why would that have not just been done on the development? The new RCF is using a highly developed version of the ISF engine pushing over 450bhp, given how much time and development they spent on that to gain that performance increase then along comes Joe Bloggs and sticks another exhaust and intake on to give it 490..... And I can't believe there was a Bluewater meet and I missed it....totally gutted, my local shopping place as well :(
  16. It's rained quite a bit lately ;) http://www.leeds.gov.uk/news/PublishingImages/Flooding%20in%20Leeds.JPG
  17. Useful links: Guide: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/507501-led-lighting-replacement-guide-w-pics.html Kit: http://www.precisionled.com/lexus-is-led-interior-lights-kits-2006-2013.html
  18. Love the red colour, one of my fav! Car looks gorgeous and can't wait to see some pics!!
  19. The 350 was a better engine than the 300 so if you can get one of those then better, however not sure if they did the 350 before 2006 (cheaper road tax if reg before Mar 2006)
  20. Unfortunately looks like the floods claimed a poor ISF :( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261401542996
  21. It's more temperature related to wear, they will wear faster in hot weather but anything below about 10c and they wear the same as summer.
  22. Well it's been another month and although there hasn't been any snow there has been large amounts of standing water as well as low temps. Have to say I am very impressed, the tyres offer considerably more grip now than a month ago (now they are properly scrubbed in with about 500 miles on them) car feels very surefooted at all times even with large quantities of standing water. Driving conditions that would have normally felt a bit twitchy are dealt with with zero drama. Overall very impressed - although still no snow to report on that side.
  23. I ended up going for a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks, read good things about them on the US forums so hopeful on performance. Had them on about 1 month now, first impressions are that there is quite a bit less grip than the normal tyres (as to be expected when temps are anything above 4/5 degrees) and more tyre noise as well. Time will tell if Winter tyres were worthwhile or not, 2 years ago it was massive snow storms this year so far just massive storms and floods. Will review again if / when we get some snowy weather.
  24. Confirmed, you only need the fob to start the car, if you started it then put the key back in the house the car could still be driven and would continue until stopped.
