  1. If anyone is suffering a creaking / stress noise from the B post when travelling over bumpy surfaces or when undergoing braking, remove the plastic cover from the chrome door anchor point on the B post (use a plastic/wooden lever to prevent paint damage and prise away at each corner) and spray the two securing bolts with either a small amount of penetrating fluid or WD40. The noise is often blamed on the seat belt anchor point or interior decor clips etc etc. Lived with it for months and can't believe how simple the fix was. Hope this helps.
  2. Nov 2005 IS250SE, 8000 miles per annum, Fully Comp, £200 Excess. Myself & Wife, No Claims for 19+years. One SP30 4yrs ago (similar kudos now as an asbo). North Lincs & Garaged. Full protected No Claims for life with More Than. £22.44 / Month. Takes some beating really and is a reputable company. (I hope).
  3. Recently bought IS250 from Lexus Sheffield (Mid Feb) with same beige interior. They informed me the rubber mats had been recalled by Lexus and were unable to get some unless there was some old stock elsewhere. Apparently the reason for the recall was they were found to be moving around on the top of the carpets and causing a problem/danger. Not been able to find rubbers on eBay but was considering the black carpets as they look a bit more forgiving and would go with the black/beige interior. If its any help a full set of C Class (2002 onwards) rubber mats fit very well. I'm using my old ones at present (spruced up of course) and they are doing a manful job.
  4. Thanks for that Ashpilot. That's the sort of info I was after. Ultimately it's not the grip I need but a little more comfort and quietness. I don't expect to get to the C Class levels as the tyres are much bigger. I'm probably expecting too much and as an earlier reply mentioned half the time its our crappy roads that are to blame. On a freshly laid road the potenzas seem fine and have no problems but they and/or the car don't seem very forgiving on rougher roads. Have yet to try a Motorway with a ridged concrete construction but dread the idea. 225/35R19 Eagles, Potenzas or Falkens?
  5. Not a problem as such but just wondering if the F1s would be quieter. Thanks for all the contributions so far.
  6. IS250SE 17" wheels. Having used Goodyear all my driving life (25yrs) because of their generally quiet ride I'm wondering if I should put Eagle F1s on instead of the Bridgestones that came with it (had it for two weeks). Not convinced, at times, the tyres are doing it justice. Had a C Class before and I know the tyres aren't as fat but that was very forgiving on rough surfaces. Would like to hear people's experience advice etc. Thanks.
  7. Does anyone know what the switch/sensor placed in the spare tyre compartment (left side) of IS250SE is? Just below the removable boot tray. Approx 3" long by 0.5" and black with a couple of wires coming from it.
