So last month ,when locking my 2016 rx450 i noticed my drivers mirror was not auto nor manually folding back. Getting back inside i fold that my drivers door rest multifuntional control unit no longer operated my drivers door. However switching over to the passenger side, i was still able to fully control the mirror in tilt and fold. (Surprisingly both mirrors still displayed the orange Blind spot monitoring warning). I had also lost all functions of the 3 memory set buttons. I could manually move the drivers seat in all directions to where i wanted it, but not from memory switches. The drivers mirror offerred no resistance, like it had suffered terminal damage from being snapped fully back going thru automatic car washes. Looking on this forumn i tried all the resets of the seats like fully back, fully forward, up,down etc but made no difference. I even took the full door panel off (easy) and re-pushed together every visible connection, but made no difference. Was even lent a full multi function control unit from a friends rx and still made no difference. So this weekend in the glorious sunshine i crawled underneath my dash to access the narrow rectangular fuseboard. Using a pair of long nose pliers rather than the official supplied Lexus plastic fuse removal cramp (grip failed so quickly) i proceeded to remove every single fuse then refit, pushed home firmly. Upon getting out of my car after finding NO Blown fuses i gave up. Pushed the locking keyfob and both mirrors folded back. Jumped back inside and all controls to mirrors and seat memories were back to as good as new. Dont know what/fuse it actually was, but just wanted to share my experience if may help somebody sometime.

lexus switches 03.pdflexus switch 3.pdflexus switch 02.pdf Hopefully these images will be visible, if not please let me know. 1st thing to say, removing the end panel of the dashboard only requires either a plastic spatula or even the rounded end of a spoons handle. There are no screws , or glues to remove. The panel is simply clipped and held in place by 8 red plastic push in clips. Apart from the pulling out the clips, there is no need to lift the panel up and off anything its just pull away. The rubber door edging can be pushed to the side by your fingers whilst releasing the panel. Start the removal of the panel in the furthest point of this panel at the bottom as this easily starts the popping out of the lugs then just work your way around.Then you can see the switch fallen back in the space. Take 30 seconds to pull the switch out to you so you can view the design fault of 4 little locating lugs that are so easily pushed in backwards. This will also explain that your pushing the unit back into these lug receivers. Then just simply pop the panel back in place whilst pushing the rubber seal back to the side. The whole procedure takes 2 minutes shorter than it takes to type this . Any questions please just ask.

Further update to bank of switches, messing with side/end of dash trim, found it unclipped in 2 mins and then switches simply clip in. Happy to send over 5 pics of easy process if anyone wants them.

Got mine out using two bent pieces of thin tin, but already pushed them back in again. Such a bad design.

Help, Managed for the 1st time in 40 years to put my knee against the lower bank of 4 buttons (just above the small cubby box) on my rhd 450h 66 model year. These are the lower group of 4 buttons but only two used for heated st/wheel and sway warning but now they have fallen back into the dash. Does anyway know if i remove the dash, cubby box or vent above to access these to pop back forwards please?

Hi guys, Apologies if a similar thread has been already answered, I'm on my third Lexus having had a rx300 from new for three years from Lexus Woodford and any problem was fixed instantly with no fuss and a good equivelant courtesy car, then i got a new ls430 from Lexus Hatfield and again nothing was ever a problem regards the warranty ie pitting on wheels, new wheels straight away. I therefore have just purchased a Ls460 07 (30k) from a Lexus dealer in Suffolk area for 30k with very low miles. I chose this as against a s320 or 7 series as i have always enjoyed the guarentee of Lexus backup. However 2 weeks after taking delivery of my ls i was greeted by warning lights saying check vsc, vdgs and cruise control contact dealer.So i returned the vehicle to my Lexus dealer who told me the computer would tell them the fault right away. He rang me later that day to say they had the parts in but just needed approval from Lexus GB to carry out the repair due to the value of the repair. I was then informed that it needed a new steeering ecu assembly and that the cost was £6942 yes £6942. However i have now been told every day for a week that no one at Lexus GB has been around to sign the release form for the repair and so the car is still of the road. In the meantime i have been given (after driving 80 miles return to collect it) a is 250 which was too small and now a gs450 (too plastic for me). My question is, is this scenario a one off and what are my rights at this point, as my dealer has now other similar vehicles for sale and i just want my vehicle back or my agreement (dated 9/3/11) cancelled. Please can anyone advise. Thanks john

hi everyone, just started using the bluetooth setup in my ls430 2005 ( bought yesterday from lexus with just 250 miles on clock ) and after finally getting the phonebook from my 6230i into it one entry at a time was disappointed with the sound output through the speakers, it sounds slightly muffled, i thought i once read of a hack to clean this up however can now not find any link, any advice would be appreicated..................john

ive just spent all day putting my phonebook in my 05 ls430, i had to first borrow a bluetooth 6230i then pair that to the ls, then in info, telephone, settings and phonebook transfer chose the add to phonebook option only, then transfer a individual phonebook entry by bluetooth, it will automatically disconect your current phne bluetooth connection to enable the phonebook entry transfer then when finished will revert back to the phone paired up already, but you must a, have the engine running !!!!!!!!!! b, take your phone menu back to the front screen before attempting the second phonebook entry by adding to the phonebook input not overwrite. this was slow but after two hours of inputs ive now got a full phonebook in my ls........hope this helps and ensure that engine is running.
