  1. Sadly my IS200 has been sold to make way for a Mondeo Estate! I needed something bigger for lugging the kids bikes around in. I am already missing the car (the handling, the stereo, heated seats...!!) Anyway, to the point! I bought some replacement lower control arm poly bushes from Fensport just before I got rid of it and never had them fitted. I have stuck them on ebay for £20 if anyone is interested. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-IS200-Lower-Control-Arm-Poly-Suspension-Bush-Fensport-/141068998253?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20d85e166d Thanks to everyone involved with the forum, it has been a great resource over the last few years.
  2. I changed my number 1 and 2 front lower suspension bushes last year and I have just discovered that the number 1 bushes are already completely shot. I am fairly sure that I got the orientation right but perhaps I did not??? Perhaps they were just poor quality bushes? Does anyone have photos of the number one and two arms with the bush orientation marked? The number two bushes still look fine. I have ordered two poly bushes: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330904397377 A few questions: I am not sure if I can go through the grief of stripping the suspension down again, how much do you think and average garage would charge to fit the bushes for me if I supplied them? The bushes (if the image is correct) do not appear to have a metal outer that gets pressed into the arm. I have never used poly bushes before! Any tips on getting the arms in and out easily? It was a right pain last time!! Thanks in advance.
  3. I took my wife's 307 out yesterday and that does not seem to do it. Could it be because it has a different suspension mechanism?
  4. Hi everyone, I have noticed some odd behavior with my is200. If I drive over a wet drain cover with my left front wheel the Car appears to pull to the left, it is the same on the right side (pulls to the right). I had my upper and lower front bushes changed in August along with the track rod ends and stabiliser links. I had the geometry adjusted after the work was done. Something felt strange so I had the tracking adjusted yesterday and today I noticed the sliding feeling on drain covers. Has anyone else ever noticed the same thing? I wonder if I am being over sensitive because of all of the work I have had done! Thanks in advance.
  5. I have an odd problem on my IS200, the tracking gradually changes over time. The steering wheel always ends up creeping clockwise, if I have the tracking done to centre the wheel after a few weeks the steering wheel starts creeping again. I thought the MOT might pick something up but it did not. I have a creaky bush so I wonder if that is slowly failing and causing the tracking to wander?? I have read several old threads on here about being able to buy the no.2 lower suspension arm bushes without buying the whole arm but I cannot seem to find anywhere who still sells them. I intend to change both lower suspension bushes (both sides) as I think the creaky one may be the no.1 bush and the no.2 looks perished. Does anyone know where to buy the bushes? Has anyone else experienced a creeping steering wheel? Thanks Simon

  7. Thanks for the comments. Lubricating the upper suspension arm bushes seems to have reduced the creak significantly, I will put a bit more on and may hopefully eradicate it.
  8. I have had a creak in my IS200 that is gradually getting louder. It sounds like rubber creaking (to me) I have however changed the lower front ball joint but the noise is still there. It happens when the car starts moving forward, if I brake to a standstill when going slow and going over speed bumps etc. I jacked the car up today and had a look and the noise appears to be coming from the two rubber bushes that are towards the top of the wheel arch. Has anyone else experienced this? How easy are they to change? Thanks in advance.
  9. Brilliant, thanks for the very detailed description! The seal kit turned up this morning so I will give it a go when I get a chance.
  10. Has anybody bought and fitted a calliper refurb kit before? Is it easy to do - any special tools required? Having just put on a new set of discs (mine were shaking like hell under braking) and a new wheel bearing (that was fun!). I notice that one of my callipers are sticking. I think the excess heat probably caused the warped discs and premature bearing failure. In an effort to save money I am looking at the option of refurbishing the calliper. Thanks in advance.
  11. Sounds like a fair deal, should save me a packet on tyres!! I'll give them a call. Thanks for the info.
  12. Looks good, how much does that cost? Any alternatives in the West Country?
  13. Hi everyone, My IS200 eats front tyres (and I do not do that many miles in it). I took it in to the tyre place at the weekend and got them to check the tracking again after they had put on the new tyres and the bloke there reckons that the camber is out on the front. Any ideas if this is adjustable and if so and recommended places in the Bristol area to take the car? Thanks in advance
  14. I was driving back from Bristol City's defeat down the M4 on Saturday and the kids were listening to a cassette. The cassette stopped, the unit beeped, switched to CD and the radio's display showed 'Alarm'. I pressed the tape button again and everything was fine. Anyone else had this?? Cheers
