  1. Thank you for the reply - I will try this out with my trailer board to see if it also does this. Hopefully someone will be along to answer the 'Trailer' Fuse question.
  2. Can those who have a towbar fitted, advise if they had a Lexus-branded one (including electrics) or did you go for another brand? I opted for the Lexus kit - the whole thing (bar and two looms) went in very easily. However, until I hook the van up, I can't be sure if the van socket all works. I have tested what I can with a meter. I have checked the tralier socket with a trailer board and it all works, but there is no audible warning, or additional light on the dash to show the trailer indicators are working. I have found a spare fuse socket in the box under bonnet which says 'Trailer', but there is no fuse. Any ideas? Anyone else with a twin Lexus setup have a fuse in this one?
  3. B)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(T7RY B @ Apr 3 2007, 02:46 PM) ←</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> According to my manual this should be fuse No.41(20 amp)Which is located in the inside of the car 4th row along to the right and 4 rows down (Rear window & outside rear view mirror defogger) Terry Thank you - I will check this out tonight. Do you also know what the 'Trailer' fuse is meant to do? I have installed a Lexus-supplied tow-bar and electrics package (pretty straightforward) but have now spotted this Fuse location (no fuse in it), when looking for the problem with my rear screen. It was not mentioned at all in the install instructions. Lexus do not see fit to put any useful fuse information in the owners guidebook. Is there an online reference anywhere which lists out all of the fuses, their location and their purpose? Or, is there a workshop manual I can get hold of with this information in, amongst other really useful stuff. Thank you again. === Checked the fuse you indicated - it looks intact. The heated mirror on the passenger side heats up OK but not the drivers and the rear screen. Even with the fuse removed, the switch for the rear screen and mirrors on the dash lights up and I can hear a click (probably the relay). I thought the switch would be out with the fuse out - time to think again?
  4. Does anyone know where all the fuses are hidden away and which fuse protects what circuit? I am confused by the owners manual, as they show one location behind the drivers-side pop-out pocket and two in the engine bay. I have found the set inside and one set in the engine bay (by the battery), but cannot see where the other is supposed to be. Also, anyone decoded the cryptic labelling on the fuse covers that is meant to tell you what is what? Some are obvious, but others..... Reason for asking is that I have a rear heated screen and a drivers-side door mirror heater not working Thanks.
  5. I spoke with the servicing guy at the local Lexus dealer to see if they had any reported problems with this - they hadn't. I decided I would buy some new washer pipe and try and sort it myself - cost me all of £1 for 2 meters of pipe. I removed the washer jets - held in by sprung arms on the jet itself, which I manged to push back with a thin screwdriver, through the holes in the strengthening plates. Had a good look at the jets and pipe. I could see that the natural route for the pipe is not through the holes in the underside of the bonnet, as the connections are at 90 degrees to the bonnet surface. I could also see that the pipes were not only squeezed by the bonnet and the seal, but were also doubled over on themselves to get through the holes and onto the jet connections. I removed the pipes and fitted new pieces, routing the pipe on a natural course between the bonnet and its strengthening member, not through the holes. Connected everything up and hey presto! Water streaming in beautiful jets onto the windscreen!!! I inspected the pipes futher and strangely I noticed what looks like paint spray on the pipes. Yikes! Does this mean that the bonnet has been sprayed at some time? I am now suspicious of its history and wonder if a repair has been done to the bonnet -although I can't see any other evidence, apart from the mis-routing of the washer pipework. :o In summary, sorted it by routing new pipework where I think it should have been, between the bonnet and strengthening plates, not through the holes in the stiffeners. :D
  6. Anyone had a problem with their windcreen washers? I have no water coming from the drivers side and very little from the passenger side. Investigation shows the pipes have been crushed almost flat by the seal where the bonnet sits over the bulkhead. Definately getting water to the joint before the crush areas (checked by disconnecting at the joint and testing - plenty of pressure). Seems like a design problem to me. Replacing the crushed part of the pipes will only give a temporary solution. Also seems like it will be difficult to get the washer jets out of their mounting in the bonnet without marking the paintwork. Anyone encountered this and found a solution? Anyone know how to successfully get the washer jets out without marking the bonnet?
