  1. So front and back centre of the lens. Ta Mr Wozza :)
  2. I tried to do that too. Is there a specific way of doing it?
  3. Can someone tell me how to get to the bulb in the roof light. Not the one by the mirror but the one in the centre of the car. I've tried prising it off but don't want to damage the bezel. Does anyone know what the bulb number is for this also, is it a festoon bulb (with a contact at either end)? I have also searched for this on the forum with no results.
  4. I'll just have to wait the customary two years for the PC version no doubt
  5. Google sent me here, I was looking for something regarding remapping the car as a mate of mine had a golf that had been remapped and I was looking for a company to do it.
  6. Ok I've just checked my IS and I suspect the bulb cover has fallen off. It must be in the lamp and maybe you knocked it off whilst fitting the other bulbs. Its a small metal shield that sits over the bulb but is attached to the headlamp. Normally it is sprung to just be held in position by its legs. Check for that mate. cheers for your input. where will this cover now be if its fallen off? in the light housing??? how easy will it be put back on correctly?? It should be in the headlamp. You may have to get the headlamp off to fish it out. Just press the legs in to put it back in position, HOWEVER it must be the right way round. The legs should be offset to ensure you do it right but may not, so check the beam against the wall as you do it. if u mean the reasonable sized chrome looking cone shaped cover that attaches via 2 prongs, then both of these are fully attached. I'm not sure what the problem could be to be honest. No idea how i could get a spacer and still have the bulbds fit correctly in the twist fitment.... What happens when you park up against a wall and shine the light against it can you see the cutoff correctly?
  7. The big problem I have, and why I am reluctant to fit angel eyes is that my headlamp lenses have a sort of yellowy coating on them, I suspect the previous owner of the car lived in Newquay and the salt has attacked the lens hardcoat. If anyone has seen this before and can suggest a way round it I would appreciate it. £127 PER LAMP from the dealer is a bit too much to pay :(
  8. Certainly Wees on my technically superior but more difficult technical solution. Hooray for jury rigging stuff ;) *flounces off in a huff muttering about making headlamps for ten years etc*
  9. Ok I've just ordered that kit from Ebay. I'll let you know how I get on.

  12. John, Is that link for the right type of bulb? It doesn't look right to me I may be wrong tho.
  13. I think I'm gonna go for that John. At £46 I don't think you can go far wrong. Problem is I've now got jobs piling up to do on the Lexus and no time to do them, AND I want to try and make it to the midlands meet this weekend.
  14. Blimey I've learned more about masons reading this than I knew in my entire life up until now. Anyhoo, I'm in Worcester too mate, check yer PM's :)
  15. I haven't seen these on Ebay, can you post a linky ?
  16. Yes this can be totally correct. But should be easily solvable by yourself. The most likely cause of this is that light emitting centre of the HID is not sitting in the same position as the bulb was. This will throw the beam pattern right out. To cure this park the car up against a wall, turn the lights on and unlatch the HID from the headlamp. Then move it around (in and out mainly) until you see a very crisp cut off on the beam. There should be light below 0° and no light above 0° on a horizontal line running right from the centre (*** this is hard to explain), on the left on the beam a crisp cut off should be seen running about 10° up radially. In other words imagine a clock face saying ten to three. the cut off of the light is where the hands would be with all the light being below. Once you have the HID in the right position for that then look at how the HID is sitting in the headlamp and you will need to make a spacer to hold the HID in that position. If none of that works, the only other thing it may be (and I can't confirm this at the moment), is if the headlamp has a metal shield in it (looks like a little bulb cover) that may be missing. Let us know how you get on
  17. I get the impression he thought he was really clever advertising on the internet in the third person. Unfortunately..........no..... not even 2/10 for effort either.
  18. oh i dunno one of them sounds interesting. Sorry, sorry, shouldn't bait ;)
  19. Well we had a little girl called Isla if thats not exciting enough :)
  20. yeah I'm a facebooker too, never tried bebo
  21. Thats what really bugs me about PMR both UK and US versions, they always leave the engine the same. Its the same crappy car underneath all that gloss. I rememebr the guy having it done tho, he was chuffed to bits. Shame he had it nicked really.
  22. the custom built humidity and temperature controlled garage would gradually eat away at your savings through running costs.
  23. I have to say that IMO that does show the lines up beautifully
  24. Basically the hard coating has pretty much gone on my headlights so I need to replace them but I don't really want to pay Lexus prices. Have any of you guys got any that you want to sell and how much would you want for them. ~Then I can mod them to hell and fit them :)
