  1. Ah great shame, a great driver and family man by all accounts. Best wishes go out to his family.
  2. yeah what have you done to the rear lights? Have you converted the fogs into tail lights? Do they still work as fogs too?
  3. Bloody hell. I never even spotted that. Yes you are right it will fail the mot if you remove the reflectors. Damn it I'm really frustrated that the only LED rear clusters you can get are the Taiwanese ones from DEPO as I think they look pretty crap. To be honest I am half tempted to buy some LEDs from Maplins and make them myself. All I would need is a goniometer and calibrated photocell to check if they we legal. oh :(
  4. well seeing as their is no consensus I'm probably gonna go for a midnight blue, rather than a pale blue. Eff it if it ooks rubbish then I can always redo it.
  5. I really fancy a pair of these tail lights and trunk(fog) lights but I don't know whether they are legal in the UK. I Spoke to MMsport and they where more worried about shipping the lead (Pb) to the uk, than their legality. I am quite happy to fit them myself if they can ship me the modules but I am not gonna waste my money if they fail the first MOT i put them through. Also will they even work given that I think the truck lights in the states are twin stops rather than the UK Stop and Fog in the trunk. If anyone has any experience of these please get in touch. mmsportonline
  6. As the title says I am going to find some time in the next 8 years to paint my brake calipers. What, in your opinion, is the best colour for a Plat Ice car? Personally I was edging towards blue (i have the white stickers)
  7. If you are talking about the hedlight lenses then you won't be able to polish them as they have a thin hardcoat that protects the Polycarb from going straw coloured in the sun, the hardcoat also protects the lenses from chipping. Polish this off and they will yellow within a few short months. If you are talking about the fog lamps and they are glass then no problem, polish away. I have recently discovered that the company I used to work for makes the IS200 headlights for Europe so I am seeing if I can buy direct from the company without using an agent. Failing that I'm going to try and get on site and have a root round there scrap bins ;)
  8. I have no idea where you can buy these from as an aftermarket part, but when I worked in the headlight industry the best thing to use to cover the hole is a 'Gore-tex' patch. Basically its a little nylon disc with goretex on the inside, stick it over the hole in your lights and these allow your headlights to breath without getting water in, but allow moist air out. I tried testing them in a variety of environmental test chambers and they work brilliantly. You can also use a labyrinthe design which is found on some lights with a little rubber tube that fits onto a boss on the light and inside you put what looks like plastic moss. Same principle as the goretex. You could probably get these from a breakers yard, in an old japanese car, perhaps an older datsun or nissan.
  9. Best wishes. Its not so bad being knowcked out, after being under the kife myself the biggest problem wa how much I swore when I woke up. Turned the air blue I did :) Good luck
  10. Thanks guys. I haven't downloaded any photos yet but I will do soon. As for the sleepless nights we are very lucky as she is a very chilled baby who goes to sleep at about 11pm wakes up about 3am for a feed then sleeps again until eight. and yes as soon as she can reach teh roof of the lex she will be detailing it for pocket money :) *considers free labour possibilities*
  11. As you may have noticed I have been pretty absent from here for the last few weeks, the reason being that on the 5.14pm on 30th August 2007 my gorgeous daughter Isla Kate Louise Bevan was born! She didn't want to move tho as she put her mum through a 26 hour labour, only to be dragged out by c section. Both are doing really well now and yesterday she went for her first proper ride in the Lex. Of course she screamed her head off until a nice bassy club track came on then she quitened doiwn in appreciation of the lexus' superior sound system. Its a good job baby likes bass :) Life is sweet :)
  12. How do you make a hormone? Don't pay her ;)
  13. A massive apology from me guys. The wife double booked Sunday even though I told her I was gonna go to this, and of course as she is so close to the due date I couldn't leave her at her mates picnic in case anything happened. Annoyed the hell out of me really as I made a point of arranging to be away that day and she just ignored it. I blame it on hormones.
  14. The only problem I will have is Mrs P is due to have the baby on 16th so I don't want to be too far away just in case. Still keen to come to the meet tho (providing the weather clears a bit so I can clean and polish the Lex.)
  15. meh. I used to suffer from migraines years ago and thought it was down to a chilli allergy, so i completely stopped eating the stuff until I found out it was unrelated. Unfortunately now my tolerance is not very good and even my wife can eat hotter chillies than me. I R teh wuss :(
  16. yup I'm on 'Assignment Ada' at the moment, but really enjoyed 'Separate Ways' as it adds a whole new dimension to the game, it seems there is a lot more enemies in Separate Ways as well. Looking forward to playing through again as Leon with some of the unlimited ammo weapons, and I never ever ever play a game twice so that in itself is testament to just what a scorcher it is.
  17. I'd agree with you there brett, there is not a lot of good stuff out. Mario Strikers is ok but not brilliant. Metroid is out at the end of August so that should be good. BTW AJ, I wouldn't worry, if you are in the church in the graveyard you're not even a quarter of the way through by my reckoning. I'm actually tempted to do something I never usually do and play it through again after I've done the Ada missions. I was actually surprised just how good it was, I mean i had heard it was good but it really is a masterclass in game design, even if the amount of ammo is tighter than a ducks towards the end.
  18. i had to be crawly but I gotta say of all the cars I have driven, the IS is closest to perfection. (Mind you my list of cars is pretty crappy tbh)
  19. Just finished this after buying it on release day, and I have to say that it is blinkin' brilliant. In fact, and this is saying a lot for me, I would say it is the best game I have played in the last 5 years. Especially the way that the remote and nunchuk are used. Intuitive and sensitive but suited to sitting on the sofa and not waving your arms about like a fool. Its so cinematic as well that Mrs P was quite happy to sit there and watch me play it, like a very long horror film with a plot thats not to japanese or odd. The first time I went into the village i was genuinely bricking it. Blimming brilliant. Piratepetes score: Graphics 9/10 good even though it is 2 years old. Sound 9/10 excellent spooky music gameplay 10/10 genius with the Wii contols
  20. and each tower had 92 floors 9 + 2 = 11 Spooky eh?
  21. Its amazing what you can some up with using a PC and far too much spare time :)
  22. Well Worcester is in the Midlands and only about 20 mins south of the M42, but if you guys want to change the venue to get the numbers up then thats ok with me. I only suggested it as a change to meeting in Redditch as IMO it is a nicer place, with some nicer pubs.
  23. if its an optical mouse, then get a plain mousemat or a piece of paper and see if it still happens. Mine use to do this at work until i got a plain black mousemat. If its a ball mouse then, CLEAN YOUR BALLS! Its unlikely to be a virus, but to be sre its not the mouse change it and see if it still happens
