  1. That's not actually true, I believe the optimum is 4300K, with light output (in lumens) decreasing as the temperature gets higher. Cheers for the link ekky, but at £50 a set, I think I'll stick with the ones I've got :) Does it really? I may be talking out of my arse because the colour temp ranges I used to deal with where much smaller than quoted here. Where did you see that?
  2. half way to Cornwall, my ....... Its 10 minutes south of the junction to the M5/M42, and its a hell of a lot nicer than Redditch :)
  3. Well there is a nice big Car Park right by the river, with a little promenade and everything. From there we could either convoy somewhere just outta town for food or, and more amusingly, walk up 'The Butts' into the town centre (about 5 mins walk). This is where I was thinking of. And to get there, take junction 6 or 7, and head towards the town centre. Follow the signs for the racecourse and when you get close to it you will see the railway bridge. from J6 the car park is just after the bridge on the right, from j7 its just before the bridge on the left. Alternatively put 'Grand Stand Road' into the sat nav. Only 4 people tho. Perhaps you better make an 'official' midlands meet topic to drum up some more interest
  4. I'm up for it, but for gods sake make it somewhere else than Redditch. Even with Sat Nav redditch is a black hole. We will lose people to the infamous road system. It also has no nice pubs or picturesque car parks, or indeed, anything of value. It is a hateful place. (I've worked here for 5 years) Worcester is much nicer. There is a nice Car Park by the river we could meet up, and its a 5 min walk into town centre for a nice pub lunch (of which there are many).
  5. mischief? Me? tbh I probably won't get time to play it tbh with ickle pirate arriving
  6. thanks rogue, i get a couple of weeks of and may just have enough money to buy a PS3 or some LED lights for teh Lex :)
  7. I'm going back a bit here but i think size is the size of the enclosure of the LED. Measure you current ones to check. They should also be powered fine from the AA batteries in the solar light. (Don't quote me tho, i don't want a bill from you for all those expensive LED's)
  8. i thought this was amazing when i first saw it, certainly takes some dedication :)
  9. Some good news! I accepted a job yesterday, closer to home but less money for the first 6 months until a review. An old company but they have had a new product thats very successful and they do a lot of work with China, which will mean some 10 day visits out there. Mrs P is well happy, she had a little cry :( I just hope she never meets my boss in the street, he's liable to get an earful and a smack from her. Apologies to the mods for swearing too ;)
  10. yeah shame about the bump in the rear bumper I've recently done. However the bump is lessening due to the hot weather. Perhaps I should call the car 'Christine'
  11. I have a OE bottom loading CD player/radio assembly. It was swapped out because the FM radio (or radio in general) didn't work properly. Perhaps we could come to some arrangement ;)
  12. hey up, I'm very close to you, over in Worcester. *waves*
  13. I spoke to the guy, Nick i think his name is and he is saying he cannot supply the modules straight away as he has order backed up, which given my current situation is ok. However he has studiously ignored my request to kinow if the lights are legal in the uk. If he could send my some photometric test results I could tell him whether they were legal or not. Getting a bit nervous about this now, but we'll see what happens. I can't believe there aren't any other suppliers of LED lighting out there tbh.
  14. Excuse me ignorance, but does the strut brace stiffens up the suspension? Is the difference notable?
  15. FYI those headlamp adjusters tend to be on headlamps with 'fish eye' lens technology. Reason being is that the light transmission cut off is on a metal plate behind the fish eye, you can't do it on a static reflector as per the IS200.
  16. anyone know of a thread showing how to get the bumper off. I can't find one.
  17. so the top contender is a hairdryer and something to push it back out whilst hot. Its gonna be the weekend before i can give it a go then. I'll have a search for instruction to take the rear bumper off. If i can make something follow thebumper from the inside it would be better i reckon.
  18. yes erm thanks bazza. I was planning on holding the gun further away so as not to strip the paint *sigh* tbh I don't feel brave enough to give it a go so I might get a dent expert in.
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm still angry about it, I won't go into detail but it is clear that this is an attempt by my boss to get rid of all those who disagree with him regularly. I already have two job interviews lined up this week, so thats all good, but it is safe to say the timing of this isn't perfect at the moment. Thanks for the web links as well. I'll look into it. The hardest thing is having to sit here for the next two weeks fuming about it. ah well. C'est la vie
  20. I was thinking about doing this as I have a hot air gun at home, but its a risky strategem I think. Also can I get my hand up behind the bumper without removing it? On the dent away front I found this guy Contact: Kal Telephone: 07725263417 Covers: Dents. Birmingham & West Midlands Miracle Man Dent Removal Dent Removal In Birmingham & West Midlands Free Estimates Fast & Friendly Service At Your Place Of Work Or Home Prices Starting From Only £15 Per Panel Does anyone have any experience of him? £15 seems cheap to me.
  21. Cheers fella, i'll look into that. Its in the plastic bumper tho so I'm not sure it will work. But i'll have a look anyway. If anyone has any other ideas (or a spare bumper maybe :) ) then let me know.
  22. So just went away for a beautiful weekend camping in Wales, in the process discovering that the boot space in the IS is not as generous as it looks! Anyway went for a pub lunch on Sunday, and whilst trying to reverse park into a space, backed me beauty into a bollard. Now the paint isn't cracked or broken but there is a distinct indentation when viewed from above and a little hillock where the plastic is creased in. The bumper was well dusty when I took the photo so please excuse that. The question is, is there an easy fix for this? can it be repaired or am I looking at a new bumper and paint job for it? What would you guys advise as the best and/or cheapest way to repair it?
