  1. Nice write up. As a ex IS250 owner & now a new ct owner agree with all your points. I also have the Luxury with the addition of the Lexus Sat nav which compared to the old touch screen model is a big step backwards, trying to dial it up by the centre consul is a nightmare. Out of interest the route guidance must have something against Norfolk / Cambs. I cannot get into Wisbech from Peterborough without doing a 3 mile bypass detour no matter what route I put in. As comfort is now top of my agenda I fitted the 16 inch rims which do give you a softer/quieter ride. I would have thought Lexus Cambridge would have been your local. I have used them for quite a few years & overall have no complaints. Nice pic, I chose Artic Pearl/Black leather. At the time I would have liked the smoked hubs but the 2014 model was still on the drawing board & this option wasn't available when ordered. Still with zero road tax & my insurance cut in half can't complain.
  2. Yes. They come up as USB 1 & USB 2 so you can switch as you want. If you are going to use the Micro sticks (so as to close the consul lid with them inside) I would suggest not to go above 16 GB as Lexus system will take a age to load the 32 & 64GBs.
  3. I use the micro Sandisk but made sure I only download tracks on MP3 format. Initial loading in to car takes a minute when refitted but then will immediately fire up to the track being played when turned back on with the browse folder lighting up about 15 secs later.
  4. Auto tilting mirrors are fitted as standard to the Premier. I'm afraid us lowly Luxury owners have to use our fingers.
  5. Also have 2014 Luxury & can only offer advise from own experience. 1. Bad move on Lexus , you are right your I pod is in full view. (A) Possible ideas, purchase long enough lead so I pod can sit in centre consul box. (B) Favourite solution ( see topic "warning usb stick") download music onto micro usb stick (Amazon). Small enough to leave in permanently with lid closed. 2. Side mirrors. You can only tilt up & down by switch on right hand side consul, fold is in same place. No automatic. 3. Keyless lock seems accurate 5 to 7 mtrs, 10 if clear line of sight to car. As far as I know no adjustment you can do. Dealer maybe able to do something but previous threads have warned about cars unlocking from owners pockets although quite far away. Hope the above helps. Enjoy a different way of driving.
  6. Good find. Just what I was looking for. Who said Forums are a waste of time.
  7. No its just a 12 hr clock. Doesn't even read am/pm. Lexus let down.
  8. This last batch (including mine) seems to be fitted with Bridgestone tyres, why they fit what must be the noisiest tyre in existence is beyond me. They are just not suited to British road surface's. My last IS came fitted with them as well, when reshod was needed fitted them with Yoko's, what a difference. Will just have to grin & bear it till the mileage has clocked enough to warrant a change. While on this thread has anyone out there had any dealings with Continental ContiSilent tyres. They have bonded a internal foam layer into the tyre which they claim reduces noise by 50%.
  9. Paul @ Cheshire. As I had on random play never flagged up that all tracks were not available. Just checked & got 255 tracks available. Thanks for info. Now setting up new folder.
  10. I've created a folder, called it "singles" so it doesn't clash with any other file names & so far have dragged over 300 tracks from different albums into the folder. I use MP3 format & so far I can play all in sequence or random settings. I think how many just depends on the memory size of stick. So far the 300 tracks have used less than 1GB so on my 16GB stick will get me to Scotland & back if I had enough CD's to download.
  11. Thanks guys. Now ordered one from Amazon.
  12. I download & play music via a USB stick. No problems, plays great & easy to update. Problem came about where to park stick when not in use & also out of sight. Found that I could lay stick down on USB consul & was slim enough for lid to close. BIG MISTAKE. After one of my trips found sprung lid wouldn't open fully. USB stick had slid across & down hinge gab. Took 1hour & half the centre consul removed to retrieve it. Be warned.
  13. How to keep Tacho on. (2014 model, display button on Steering wheel) 1. Engine on. 2.Scroll though using Display button till "unit setting" shows on the display unit. (below fuel gauge). 3.Depress & hold Display button till new screen shows. 4.Scroll through to "Tachometer". Press & hold. 5.Scroll to "Keep On". Press & hold. 6.Scroll down to "Exit". Press & hold. 7. Tacho should now be showing. Mine stays on now no matter what mode & that includes cruise control. Hope this helps. May be slightly different for earlier model but should be the same basics.
  14. Sorry for spelling in my last post. Meant to be ECO mode. Stupid self spelling computer.
  15. I don't know if anyone else finds that instead of just getting in the car & enjoying the drive half my time is spent watching that stupid gauge & trying to keep it in the echo zone. I prefer the tacho but of course you had to be in the Sport mode to achieve it. Playing around with the display button the other day I found you could switch the Tacho display on permanently. The blue & red displays function as before so you still Know what mode you are in. I know its a personal thing but much prefer it. Surprised how low the revs drop when just cruising.
