Pray silence please for my first ever good idea!

I just had a brilliant idea - why don't the admins and mods make a new section of the forum - as well as the Lounge and General discussions, why not have a section for 'People who used to drive a Lexus but now have something else but still love the forum'

Shame about American cars - I think that Lincoln is very nice looking and I'm sure it's supremely comfortable. They're just made by people who can't build cars - and when they do, they do it badly. I suspect for 'sporty' driving it would be a waste of time though!

You can only really use that as an effective method when you fill the tank up right to the brim yourself - sometime the needle stays on 'F' a little bit long then seems to shoot down quickly. Although it was reading full, it probably wasn't

My Lex has gone this afternoon, I am a little sad I must admit

Well, after 18 months my Lexus has gone. :( Picked up my Volvo this evening - already love it! So smooth, quiet and refined. Strong and punchy diesel engine too - after 9 years of petrol cars I am gonna have to be super careful at petrol stations! Pics to follow.....

That is a monstrosity and looks totally awful . Whoever ruined that GS should be mocked for all eternity. On the up side, the one you're looking it is nice - that is one of the nicest colours I think. Try selling your car privately, but don't expect much more than a part ex value in all honesty - people don't want them. I would buy that GS if I were you. But then if I was you then you'd be me and you'd sell your IS and buy a Volvo lol!

Into my last full day of Lexus ownership. At 3pm tomorrow I'll be taking the final journey to Nottingham. It's a really wierd feeling, I will be a little bit sad when it goes.

I don't think that's a good price for the IS250. A brand new IS250 SE +MM WhatCar target price is £25891. With the added bonus you'd be the first and only owner therefore helping resale values.

this is were people get confused....mot law says both front side lights must be the same colour so if you came in to my work with your lex and had two blue side lights i cant fail it i can only advise and pass.but if you had one blue and one green then i could fail you.(i'm a mot tester) but the police are spoil sports with any blue light showing on your car and will give you a 21 day ticket or poss a fine if your cocky.just asked the wife(shes a trafic officer)depending on the mood of the officer, being seen with a blue interior light is just as bad as having blue sidelight bulbs or flashing blue strobs and you could get done!!! hope this helps. When I took my car for its last MOT - I had some of the sidelight bulbs that look blue but glow much whiter than normal bulbs and the dealer told me they'd failed the car on those as they're illegal and I needed to replace them.

I agree, that email doesn't sound at all like a "little old lady". Sounds like someone who doesn't have English as their native language, but doesn't sound like an older person either. Still sounds a bit odd to me. Great to have such good detective minds on here! :D She is Eastern European (well the name Elga) kinda gives that away I genuinely hope this works for you buddy, I'd love you to prove all the sceptics (myself included) wrong. But until the sale is completed and you have got home with the money, people will not be convinced. I really hope it is genuine though - I love being proved wrong on this kinda thing with my naturally suspicious mind.

Sickening as this is, I've part exed my 2005/05 S auto for £5100. Granted it's the base model, got a few scuffs and has 4 owners but it's nauseating. I've had it for sale privately for £6500 for months - no one wants to know. In the end I'm just glad to get something for it because a lot of garages have said they won't accept it as part exchange.

Ask her to meet you at a local police station for convenience and safety and see what she says. If she's genuine, she won't mind.
