  1. Hello, Does anyone know what the standard suspension geometry setting are for an is200 sport? I've not had my sport long but think the handling for the type of car is great. I've come from an Honda S2000 but had to sell her for a more practical car. The handling for the S2000 at times could be eye opening, it would oversteer at the drop of a hat (it was an original one before they made it all soft and understeery). I got used to it and had so much fun in the wet or dry. The is200 is great but just seems that much less willing play quite so much and I don't think its all because it has less power, I think part of the reason is because its set up much more on the side of safetly so anyone can drive it without getting in too much trouble. I think with a few geometry tweaks, I can get it handling much more sporty and willing to play as the rest of the chassis feels well up to the job. I just need to try and find out the standard geometry setting so I can work out where to go from.. Paul
  2. Hi, I think the front LH channel on my amp has gone pop. I'm really struggling to find one. Has anyone got one laying around after a radio upgrade that they no longer need? Thanks Paul
  3. OK, no worries, if it was a top loader and you didn't want it, I'd of made you an offer for it..
  4. Eeek, so that near on £70 for the seals. think I'll get the complete caliper and save the trouble. thanks for letting me know the costs..
  5. A charcoal canister is what is says, a canister full of charcoal, its connected to the breather system on the fuel tank, I think the charcoal collects some of harfull stuff from the fuel vapor. it gets full after time so cant do what it used to, older cars don't have them and it not something tested on an MOT so its up to you if you want it replaced.....
  6. ouch, for four rubber seals! is that Lexus costs? think I'd rather get a caliper and save the trouble for that cost. I wonder if for that cost it includes the pistons which I don't need. I'm sure someone out there does just the seals I'm after for not much money. hopefully I can find them somewhere.....
  7. they are compact units, I spent ages trying to figure it all out, would of got it working if bits were not missing! what did you do with yours after you tried to fix it? is it a top loader one?
  8. Not yet, I will do if I can't find anything 'better value'
  9. Hi, New to owning an is200 sport, only had it a few days and got the dreaded seized caliper I've freed off and cleaned up the seized piston and its all works fine, only trouble is I need new seals but can't find any anywhere. Seems a shame to now have to get a reconditioned caliper for £100 just because I can't find seals... I'm sure you can get them somewhere as I've heard that front calipers are common to other toyota cars, its just finding somebody who knows where to get them from.... The recon caliper people must fit new ones and are getting them from somewhere... any help would be great. Thanks Paul
  10. Hello, I'm after a non working top leader CD/radio unit off an is200se / sport. there must be a few about due to how easy they break. I've just bought my is200 and the CD's don't load. After hours of fiddling in the garage, I've nearly got it working but due to some suspected parts being missing (found evidence of someone trying to fix it before but making it worse and then just shoveing a pile of bits in the unit and then fitting it back to the car!) I can't get it to pick up the CD's and suck it in even though its trying to. Suspected plasic guides missing. if you have a broken top loader unit you done want, please let me know and we can arrange a price. Thanks Paul
  11. Hello, Picked up my IS200 sport on Friday. lovely car, unfortunately the last owner did not tell me the CD player does not work as it would not load anything (nothing happened when I pressed the load button) Reading on the forum, I see its a very common problem. (seems a very friendly and helpful forum) I took the radio out yesterday and spotted some animal had already been in there and snapped disc one's plastic tray and tried to stick it all back together with what looked like wood glue! I fixed that and at the same time found the a little roller wheel off that should be clicked into another piece so it can sense when the CD is being put in. I then spotted ether end of the CD loading mechanism was not in line, the RHS was further back, I had to lever one of the sliders on one side and get it to jump teeth. I did this untill they were both in the same position and hey presto it fired up the next time round asking for a CD when I pressed the load button. trouble is the mechanism could not suck in the CD and guide it into the correct place. After many house of watching what was going on on the bench powered by a 12v battery, the only conclusion I could come to is there was something missing (not put back on from the animal that had it apart last time) as there are nylon block at the top where you put the CD in to help guide it in. I think there also needs to be something like that at the bottom. I was so close to fixing it and I can't source a replacement unit at the moment. Please has anyone got an old top loader radio lying around that they could take a photo of so I could confirm what's missing on mine (so I could maybe make something that works) the nylon block guide parts can be seen very clearly seen when the black plastic facia part of the radio is unclipped. or if anyone has a non working top loader CD player from their Lexus 200 they don't, I'd be happy to buy it off them so I could use the parts to fix mine. Any help greatly appreciated. Paul
