  1. Hope this link works and you can see what I mean. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150463127614112.459801.613574111&l=94b09147ff
  2. Hello, Can anyone help? Rats have gone into my car and chewed through the high tension cables. Lexus in Isleworth say or think the cables are the same as the spark /plug/ignition cables, but they are not sure! Nevertheless I need to buy new cables ( x 2 cables). Does anyone know where I can buy these from? I have a Lexus GS300 MK II, year 2000 X reg. I have a picture but couldn't see how to attach it. Thanks in advance for any advise.
  3. I had this problem after the idiots at Kwikfit replaced all pads and discs on the front wheels (no doubt cheap parts). Car had no problems before going into Kwikfit, except for brakes wearing low. When ever I turn and braked at the same time I would hear a clunking noise. If I didn't use the brakes while turning, no noise. Decided to replace all pads and discs (all 4 wheels) and so far no clunking noise (I used EBC stuff). I have a GS300, year 2000.
  4. Lexus Twickenham charged £600 for 60K service. And I had more problems with it when they had finished than when it went in. I shall not be going to Lexus again for service. What really baffles me is the Free inspection they provide. Lexus Jemca done one a few months ago and say I need £1500 worth of work done to the car. Then Lexus Twikenham did one when they carried out the service and said I need another £1600 worth of work. What I dont understand if they are supposed to be professional technicians the problem they spotted should all be the same, but they wern't. It was a completely set of different problem!!!!
  5. I had the same problem with my MKII GS300, turned out to be a faulty starter motor!
  6. Hi Had the exact same problem on my MKII GS, after being told it was a low rated battery by one Lexus dealer (I did have the correct battery by the way) and then faulty a boot light switch by another Lexus dealer, turned out it was the starter motor and had to get it replaced. Cost me about £230, I think they just replaced the insides of the motor. Does not give me much confidence in Lexus!!
  7. It was starter motor. Jemca in NW London had it for the whole day, had no idea and totally diagosed it wrong. Took it into Lexus Twickenham, they also diagnosed it wrong saying the boot light switch was bent causing the light to stay on all the time causes the "NEW" heavy duty battery I fitted to go flat. Car didn't start when I went to pick it up, they kept it for another day and finally said it's the starter motor. That has been replaced and the car is as sweet as honey once again! Thanks for all your input.
  8. Hi There I have no idea what the problem could be but I can say I have the exact same problem. I've only noticed when I'm doing motorway driving and seemed to happen everyday but not too often. I assume the car needed a good service. I get similar fuel economy to you, about 300 miles per £50 motorway and about 250 miles in town. Baarish
  9. Thanks guys for your suggestion, I shall try what's mentioned. Needless to say Lexus Twickenham wasn't very helpful unless I coughed up the £123 investigation fee first! I do believe I have posted this in the wrong section! I might re-post!
  10. Hi Guys I have a GS300 Oct 2000 model, Purchased in Dec 06. It's been perfect up to mid April 07. The problem I am having is that if the car is left overnight and I come to switch it on in the morning, once the key is turned to the "START" position, absolutely nothing happens. It's as if the battery is completey dead but the dash board and stereo come on. I take out the key and try again and it starts just fine and will be fine for the whole day. Has been happening every day for last 2 weeks. Today 1/5/07 happened twice. I have changed the battery for a new one (the correct one as advised by a Lexus Technician) but that has had no effect. Anyone have any idea's to why it is doing this? Baarish
  11. Hi I'm after a new key as well for my GS300. I spoke to the Lexus Dealers in Twickenham. They said to me, key costs £150 (but that could vary) 2-3 days to order it from Germany, then I have to come in again to get the key programmed which takes 30 mins. Oh, you also need you key ID tag and log book for car and car key. Baarish
