  1. Hi My Lexus RX300 (petrol) has gone over 100,000 miles and needs a major service with cambelt change. I have given up on the incredible Lexus dealer prices (I don't pay my lawyer those hourly rates!!) and so I am looking for a good non-franchised Toyota/Lexus service in the Glos/Wilts area. Any recommendations? On a related note, I was going to keep the car a bit longer yet. Anything I should be especially careful of now that I am in the 100k+ club? eg; expensive items :-) Thanks Paul
  2. Do you know what you did differently to get it to work? I have just tried it without success :-(
  3. That's a good point. You know what these Lexus dealers are like ;-) Told me they were near the limit on thickness. Skimming wouldn't help that would it. I think I will just go for a full set of new pads, and leave the discs. No problems on changing the discs are there?
  4. My RX300 needs new front discs and pads, and the rear pads are wearing. I was wondering about doing it all myself. Over the years I have changed pads on many of my own BMWs and Mercs - but haven't tried changing discs since my Ford Capri :-) Anyone tried changing the front discs on an RX300? Hard/Difficult? Special tools? I presume the pads are easy - any recommendations? Cheers Paul
  5. Could you send me his details? I need to get this sorted. Thanks I had a Nokia car kit fitted in my 2003 RX by a guy which does them for Lexus Bracknell. I did it direct and saved a bundle. as far as I know, he is the only person who knows how to do this which does not mess the sta nav, it mutes the radio etc and comes through the speakers. So it can be done properly and he has been doing them for years for Lexus.
  6. Anyone sourced a good kit for nokia phones to connect to the Lexus RX300 (04) standard stereo system? In previous cars I have used a kit that connects the phone to the car stereo, automatically mutes and then uses the stereo as the speakers. Anyone tried this with the Lexus? Thanks
