  1. I regularly get 430 - 450 miles per tank with my 2011 SE-Premier. Also noticed that if you fill up pretty much as soon as low fuel light comes on you still have about 10L of fuel left! What I tend to do now is reset the trip B once cruising range gets to zero and the allow 2 x the tank MPG average before filling up (typically another 80 - 100 miles). Yes, I know risky, but have never run out yet! Never filled up with more than 42L of fuel and it is a 45L tank........
  2. is the tyre pressure monitor standard on UK CT's? I have a SE-L Premier but have never noticed anything anywhere on the car about tyre pressures?
  3. Hamann Modifies Range Rover Evoque, Wald International Tweaks Lexus CT 200h - WOT on Motor Trend http://wot.motortren...00h-233051.html Ignore the Evoque, the CT looks GREAT! Well, I think so anyway......
  4. I too am a company car driver, love the tax benefits, must say! In reply to your questions:- 1) One of the key musts I had on my list was an automatic gearbox. Whilst the CVT version in the CT is not a true automatic, I find it fine, whilst a little strange at the same time. Gets a little getting used to the way it revs so high, sounds like the engine is screaming at times. I dread to think what it must sound like to someone outside...........they must think you (or me) have lost the plot 2) I came from a IS220D to the CT so that was a drop from 170bhp. To be honest, I do not notice any difference at all, if anything, the CT is quite potent, especially when in sports mode. I have never had an instance in 12 months of ownership where I felt I was 'down on power' 3) Yes, space is at a premium in the rear and boot space is not the best. However, can fairly easily get 3 kids in the back (11 - 17) and it is not too bad for adults either, passenger / driver may need to adjust their seats forwards a tad but not too much Overall, I am delighted I went to for the CT, whilst it may not be the most powerful / largest car it suits my needs, saves me £100s a year and I do generally love the car, have not had a single issue with it in nearly 12 months of ownership.
  5. I encountered exactly the same thing, took a little while to fathom it out! Also, had a situation where cruise control would not set, thought it was broken but it will not set if you have the engine selector in 'B'............
  6. check you definitely have them fully switched off - have to turn then anti-clockwise until they 'click', light should then go off..... if not then think you have a fault as light should only be on when the bum warmers are on!
  7. Whilst I have never had (or driven) a prius I just do not understand all the negative comments about the CT, I've had mine now for nearly 8 months and simply LOVE the car, would not swap it for anything in my budget. As other people have replied, it defies logic at times just how quick it can be in sports mode and whilst the MPG will never be as good as suggested, I never get less than 52mpg per tank, best has been just over 60mpg on a long motorway run. This is now my 3rd lexus (IS200, IS200D, now CT) and it is by a far way the best ever. The IS200D was a very bad experience but the CT has quickly reminded me exactly why I like Lexus as a brand. I see no reason at all why my next car will not be another CT or whatever hybrid Lexus have out (maybe an IS Hybrid?) I am sure you will love your CT once you get it and will not for a moment regret your choice, I certainly haven't
  8. Found something out last night that whilst only a very minor issue could cause you to come back to a flat battery! I went to the car last night to retrieve a CD for my daughter, opened the PASSENGER door, switched on the power to allow me to extract the CD from the player, switched power off, shut the passenger door and locked the car 10 minutes later daughter asked why my lights were on my car! Looks like if you do the above actions the follow me home lights do not switch off! Like I say, only a minor issue and chances of someone doing this are minimal but all the same better to be aware than come back to a flat battery!
  9. I doubt very much you have a faulty light - mine regularly does not come on until 30 (or less) miles left. Not only that, event when it is on, I reckon I have at least 10L of fuel left in the tank as even if I let the range go to zero I can still only ever get around 35L of fuel in a 45L tank!
  10. Question : Does the CT200h have pressure monitors or not? spec says so but I can't find anything in the manual? Mine is the SE-L Premier........
  11. touch wood, I have not had my dust caps 'lifted' on my CT....must be the local kids have now grown up out of this phase...... Within a few days of my ex-IS they were gone, I got some replacements off ebay and fell into the trap of them becoming welded onto the valves......stuck until the tyres needed changing.........not good!
  12. The quietness is amazing, probably do not quite appreciate it inside the car, let a work colleague drive it once whilst I was outside the car and you then really do appreciate the spookiness of quietness........ loving it!
  13. Well, I tried opening the fuel cap etc, made no difference (assume you have to shove something in there????) But, today coming back from a near 500 mile round trip, got down to zero cruising range and kept going......for another 30 miles and still only managed to get 37L in when I refuelled. MPG for this trip? 57.8mpg and that is without even trying....... Have to say, I totally LOVE this car, cannot understand the people who slate it, I can find no faults what so ever, continually get high 50s MPG, ride is fine, toys superb etc etc after my very bad IS (D) experience this has totally restored my faith in Lexus as a brand
  14. I was under the impression that the fuel tank size on the CT was 45 litres. However, I have never been able to get more than 35 litres in mine, not even when it has been showing the warning light for miles or down to zero cruising range (which it appears to plummit to very quickly once it gets to about 10 / 15 miles to go according to the trip computer) Any ideas / same issue?
  15. Does anyone suffer the same as I'm experiencing? Basically, have a blackberry bold 9700 connected to my Mark L system and when I receive a call there is a 3 second delay before any talking can take place after the call has been answered via the button on the steering wheel (display shows call connected and the connected timer starts going but I cannot hear them and they cannot hear me until 3 secs is reached!). This happens with every received call; out going calls are fine. Cheers
  16. isn't the right one blue and the left one red? If I'm thinking of the same thing this is how it is on mine - right one shines blue when in ECO / Normal mode; left one shines red when in sports mode......
  17. I've covered just over 3,000 miles so far in my CT and am consistently getting 57 - 58mpg per tank of fuel, complete mix of roads / motorways and high use of eco mode on motorways, normal / sport when required. Best I've ever achieved was a 260 mile round trip to / through London, 62mpg. Worst, 50mpg after a 70 mile 'sprint' in sports mode long the M4.......... Certainly haven't changed my driving style - simple LOVE this car, really is a pleasure to drive and the money it is saving me is a real bonus! Highly HIGHLY recommend to all - :P
  18. Would back this topic up - now I have mine I am more than happy, I would say it is one of the best cars I have driven or owned. Very happy with the MPG, far superior to what I was getting on my IS220D and am looking at 100+ miles more per tank (even though the CT is 3/4 size tank than the IS220) haven't had to change my driving style too much to get great mpg, probably not even driving it correctly yet to get the best but am easily getting 56mpg+ on a mixture of town and motorway driving. to me appears to be slightly more room in the back than the IS220d which is another plus point and the seats are extremely pleasant. As for all the toys, goes without saying they are all top notch, ML stereo and Sat Nav really are superb and all very easy to use, love the Remote Touch, great bit of kit. Bad Points? Not really TOO bad BUT........boot is very small but if you don't regularly pack you boot to the hilt its not a problem. Also didn't realise the passenger seat was manually adjusted with no height adjustments, seems strange to me but again not a major problem. The worst thing I'm finding is pedestrians, especially in car parks, walking out in front of you, it really is a problem!
  19. Had mine now for 3 days, not long I know but I'm more than happy with MPG - getting round 56mpg so far, mixture of town and motorway driving. Certainly appears that best economy is around town where I'm finding the MPG just goes up and up Overall, VERY happy, think it is a lovely car!
  20. ordered mine on 16th March, couple of days prior to the events that unfortunately happened, was expecting the worst to be honest. Originally quoted end of August delivery, however mine is coming TOMORROW! Like a kid before Christmas this evening, will not be able to sleep! Above said, think I must have got lucky, maybe exact spec came in for a cancelled order or similar plus did receive a letter from Lexus today advising due to the events in Japan they advised to order for Sept New Reg ASAP and that they would honour list prices / part-exchanges no matter how long a delay in delivery.......
  21. Well, I've ordered my CT200H - SEL-Premier model in white. Appreciate not everyone's cup of tea but I think it is a great looking car, definitely far better in the flesh than on the web etc. Not only that but as a company car it is going to be saving me £s in tax alone, never mind fuel (currently getting 34mpg if I'm lucky in my 220d). Everything else I have looked at comes no where near close to toys included, automatic (sort of) box, tax savings etc etc. Cannot wait for its arrival - subject to the terrible events currently going on in Japan
  22. I had exactly the same a few months ago - pink deposit everywhere in the engine bay, complete loss of 90% of coolant virtually daily. Lexus initially said it was water pump and changed it but when car came back was still suffering loss so they re-examined and it was the gasket.
  23. Update on this - I am :tsktsk: fuming to say the least The gear box - Lexus are saying that it is down to driver negligence and that 1st gear has been forced. TOTAL AND UTTER :tsktsk: to be polite. There has never been a single issue with the gear box, the first I heard was when they told me they had repaired the clutch and now 1st gear could not be selected. If 1st gear had been unable to be used, how the :tsktsk: would I have made so many hill starts on the day the clutch went? Impossible to start the car moving on such a steep incline without 1st gear. They removed the gear box to investigate the initial clutch problem - and from what I can gather without leasing company's authority - and I bet my bottom dollar that is when this problem arose. Shame there is not another Lexus garage in the vacinity as I feel like never setting foot in the place again.
  24. Not been on here for a while, but car is currently in its 2nd week in the garage after clutch completely went. Had been stuck in traffic on a steep incline stop, starting, was NOT riding the clutch just lots of hill starts before it went completely Anyway, clutch obviously gone and been replaced however, they are now saying there is a gear box issue to as 1st gear cannot be selected, parts need to be ordered (subject to authorisation from leasing company) and it will be at least end of month before they arrive. Is this a common problem or just my bad luck? Can't see anything about clutches doing anywhere on this site? Car is just over 2 years old, 65,000 miles
  25. i had a new (09) base model 220d last week whilst mine was in for 60k service to be honest, was not that impressed - could see no improvement over mine at all, if anything appeared worse! Didn't have it long enough to test out the fuel side of things but some comments I'd make........ Yes, the loan had only 2k on the clock but 6th gear just not usable below 80mph (mine quite confortably cruises at just over 70 in 6th) - suppose it could loosen up maybe? Power appeared identical to mine, couldn't spot any difference at all Also, not sure if this is just on the base model or not but I personally thought some of the new mods looked decidedly tacky - the darker colour roof light buttons and the new shape buttons on the drivers door for mirrors / locking. Plus that silver surround on the CD slot - sure it is not but to me looked very plastic indeed. The digital clock also has a different LED colour to it - sure it was actually different to the CD/Radio display, looked very odd to me. And as for the auto-locking..........sure it works just fine (and agree it is a good idea) but could my passenger get out when I dropped him off? Caused a right old jam at the airport.......... Probably me being picky lie I say but much prefer my interior! Have to also add - they had a Messa Red ISF outside when I dropped mine off - thought all my birthdays had come at once but they wouldn't let me borrow it for the day.......stunning car in every sense.......
