    It could be that the parts were taken from a crashed sport model and put onto yours .as for the wheels they are bad for buckling so could have been replaced at a later date anyway .window stickers on mine were peeled of by my kids .if car has mot since mods i would think ok as the only difference is the suspension anyway .and to be honest the sport model is not that bad to drive and the standard springs make it wallow like a barge if you take corners a little to quickly

    would it make much difference as it is not got a turbo ,all the cars i have seen the best results with are turbo

    Not sure about the is but on mine you have to undo the bolts and take the whole light unit out

    The only advice i can give you is buy mine .only kidding (but it is a nice one).Is it a sport model ? .would not worry about dealer servicing as they are very dear ,also cambelt will be cheaper than you quoted if you use a good independent garage .price seems about right for the sport model if not a little exspensive for standard car with those miles .

    clean at moment but have been banned twice .was a lond time ago and has been clean for last 15 years

    i find most other gs owners just look ,i think they are just amazed to see another one .the mk1 is becoming a rare beast especialy in sport version .cant remember the last time i see one and have only remember seeing one in the same colour as mine in the last six years and must admit i did wave and the other driver waved back ..

    Has all this started since you fitted the new discs and pads ,if so could somethuing be loose (regarding the shudder)

    If you were driving you will get 3 points and a fine 60 quid i think .but as you said you had sold it and was longer the keeper .is it forward facing or rear camera

    had two new rear tyres fitted today and managed to snap key for locking wheel nut,spent an hour getting the buggers of .lexus could not help with a spare so brute force took over .also did full service on car oil filters etc .new pads all round tomorrow then of for a weeks holiday in devon .anyone with a mk1 one with the locking nuts with the three studs needs to have a good look at how tight the previous garage has done them up as mine snapped very easy.just glad i was at a garage and not on side of m25 .

    first car was a capri mk1 GT some 23 years ago 20 years ago astra GTE 10 years ago volvo 850 T5R 5 years ago lexus of course

    Tend to use the van(sprinter)all week and lexus eves school run etc ,then the audi TT of a weekend .another baby due in 7 weeks so both are going as TT will not take a baby seat in the back and the lex only has two diagonal belts .not sure what to buy answers on the back of a postcard please

    i am on talk talk and have not had a problem .even customer services were good when mine went down last week .although it states on the desktop icon that it is running at 2.0 mbps is this slow or about right ??

    It is strange that the older lexus models did not seem as unreliable as the newer models ,i have done 50,000 miles in mine and only replaced brake pads ,tyres ,and consumables .apart from the rad i have had no big problems and found the dealers very good apart from high prices and sometimes a snobby attitude towards my older car .perhaps it is the technology that lets them down .

    Got to be the volvo v70 T5R estate for me ,reliable ,fast,safe,comfortable,loads of space for shoipping etc.

    if the only thing you are sure on is the screen in the middle that discounts the GS300 straight away as the mk1 did not have this screen(as far as i know) and with your budget set at 2.5k to 3k i would think the mk2 is a little out of you range .

    to be honest once you start to scrape it of you will know straight away as surface rust will smooth of nicely were as if it has eaten in it will be very pitted ,had this happen on my old renault van (was only three years old) and it snapped the strenghening bar that ran across the seat .if in doubt pop it into a lexus garage (or a paint shop)and ask someone to have a quick look as i am sure they wont charge for advice .
