  3. hi just a quick update on a problem i posted a few weeks ago

ever since changing my alloys 4 months ago i have had a constant problem with a wobble through my steering must have balanced wheels a dozen times, replaced calipers, balljoints but no difference

so then deceiced it must be the alloys so bought another new set but still the same only thing i had not done was replace the tyres that came with the first set of new wheels khumo sports

i then bought 4 new dunlop sports, wheel balanced again but to my disbelief no difference

anyway the other day i was taking a look through ebay and seen for sale aluminum spigot rings sent an email with my sizes posted a few days later fitted them yesterday and to my delight car is perfect no wobble or vibrations all in i think i've spent £1000 trying to sort this but right now i just pleased i can now enjoy driving the car

maybe if anyone else is having the same problems this could be worth a try cost £27 all in

    Item number: 290302478524

Well ive had a wobble under braking.. (not really sure if theres a slight one when driving as its been so long since i had a car without it) and have never found a solution... have changed what was said to be a stuck caliper.. changed discs and pads... changed wheels.. and tyres.. and still the same.. told the bearings are fine so im at a loss... will try these though was hoping you can tell me if your wobble was there all the time or mostly under braking...? what is also strange for me is that when i replace the wheels having had them off... it drives fine for maybe 50-100km... and then the problem comes back... its like something moves or that.. any thoughts??

    Cheers..

  6. no such thing as Yamaha tuned, all that happened was Yamaha helped develop the cylinder head.....

its all very well getting the engine, but you need all the other bits aswell

Ok ok......... im just quoting what the seller said... as stated above if i knew i wouldnt be on here asking...

isnt that why we have forums?? :whistling:

indeed...thats why i corrected you, so we dont have the usual internet phenomenon of "its on the tinterweb so it must be right" :winky:

i want trying to be funny, was just pointing out that the seller knows **** all

    ;) ;) ;)

maybe we can invite him to join the forum.. haha ;)

Ive just heard so much about people not sure whether to buy an IS or an RS and everyone seems to say.. RS.. u get the engine.. hence why im so curious as to why is soo super duper!

or is it just the overall package and ive searched the wrong info??

ive owned both...i prefer the is200

Well thats a good opinion... id say!

    :whistling:

Breakthrough Engine with Advanced Management System.. Toyota France say this was developed/tuned by yamaha... (3S-GE)

Again, DONT jump down my throat, just passing on info that im given and seeing if anyone knows better or can tell me why its wrong!

  9. The one on Prolex includes a Blitz charger.

So he really wanting 4k for Blitz charger then, s/hand to :o you need to find out the price of Blitz charger new :whistling:

Says the charger is 4k new.. but not searched it... im just curious about it all....

Oh... someone just did search it

Is it true the internals are just as weak???

Yes you have to be very curious with Dave (prolex) these days, as he is still saying things he knows nothing about, had email of someone the other week, asking about pistons, turns out Dave had told him the wrong info about pistons in turbo charged engines, not good really

ps. and if i know Dave.....its still in Japan and he can get it for you :whistling:

I think it does say it can be got... THINK........

Some things never change  its just a case of going on the sites Dave uses, you can get much cheaper that way :winky:

There an altezza engine on eBay at the mo with the 5 speed semi-auto transmission for 1,700 quid

Claims to have 30,000km on it and price includes delivery.....

Says its the yamaha tuned edition (whatever that means)..

    Just for info..

  11. More pics stevie :D some nice dusk pics would look the muts nuts

I fiited them to mine and think they look great with the HIDs on the fogs.. especially around dusk but thats just me..

had alot of comments about them on the street too.. and alls been good..

Theres a pic of them on my car at night in the "gallery" and it shows that there very bright too.. so fine for day use..

  12. a few years ago i picked up the following altezza parts

    Engine

    gearbox

    ecu

    loom

    driveshafts

    differential

    propshaft

    front subframe

    steering rack

for £500, on an engine that had done only 11,000 miles

4500 is way too much, even with supercharger, with unknown milage,

the engine that THOR is selling, im sure came from Janspeed, and was offered to me a few years ago for £2000, well they did have about 8 to get rid off

WOW, thats a monsterous difference... you stil have all that stuff you picked up!!! :winky: haha

Well as i said, i wasnt sure if it was a good price or not and if the performance was good or not ... AND if it was a stronger engine or not.. but dont seem to be all that promising from the comments here!

  13. i know what you mean mate. so any idea when would this finish

Am hoping by summer.. but trying to get a solution for the noise issue is the delay... i know many say the noise of a tuned car is great, but it has to be drivable and it aint... so this is why its taking so long..

ive not chated to charlesworth for a while.. been up to my eyes, but will get an update next week..

I do have high hopes for the finish product but i cant prove anything at the moment..

In the meantime its given me some time to do some other small mods which have turned out well so no time lost eh!!

    ;)

  14. so we have to wait for figures. ohh this is getting exciting so how much is the kit setting you back mate.

er......... more than invisioned... :whistling: i dont have a definite figure and i dont want to give any figures i have yet as 1st, it aint finished.... 2nd im not sure whats still necessary, and i have parts that have to be returned due to not needing them etc.. but you can be sure that there "seems" to be other conversions, that are cheaper which you can read about on the site...

And with no power figures to show ive yet to see just how much its been /will be worth..

I know this info is kind of a roundabout answer but i dont want to give info that is not certain as others may want to go down this conversion route and i prefer they know the truth rather than what is hoped or predicted..

  15. how much brake would this one kick out at the end mate?

In all honesty.. i dont think anyone has a true answer for that... charlesworth reckon the s/c has alot to give, but when you add noise reduction steve wasnt so sure how it will affect the performance.. so its a waiting game, then theres the mapping element which will again have a massive impact which is at the moment unknown for this setup (to the best of my knowledge).

So i aint goint to throw out theory figures of what is hoped.. thats the best answer i have ....

    Sorry..

  16. Prop done. Now all the gearbox and engine bits can be lined up properly and bolted in place. One less thing to worry about........

The waiting is killing me, but I don't want a rushed job as you all can imagine with all the horror stories going about the place. Just about to book a trip to the Alps so hoping the car will be ready by then as you can't fit skis in Boxters.

With the power you´ll have in that beast.. good look driving up the alp roads if your going soon :whistling:

Id invest in an upgraded traction control.... :winky:

Cant wait to see it finished mate!!

No problem, Race Logic T/C going on as we speak!! Snow chains in the boot when we go, although it is usually clear just the tops of the mountains have the snow the resorts are pretty good.

picture taken today: les deux alps http://www.les2alpes.com/en/hiver/ski-snowboard/webcam.html

Had a chat to someone this afternoon breaking an IS200 Sport but it did not have a LSD? shame as it was only £100.......

Youve no idea of the winter thats just passed.. anodrra is still kicking along with most of the lower pyrnees resorts.. and alot stil have icy road conditions early and late in the day.. just a word of advice.. im driving down to andorra tomorrow.. cant beat winter sports.. well.. unless your making a beast... :winky:

anyway... hope the project continues with such positive results... great to see....
