  1. Road cars do not need garages save for additional security if you life in a dubious area. Little/low used classics do.
  2. Can you? seems remarkably generous/foolish, if they do not know its history.
  3. David Whilst I agree with the principle, it only seems to be a minority who are adversely affected. I am into my second Mark 2 RX - a 400 and have not experienced this issue once with either car. I recall that most threads have failed to reveal numerous users.
  4. The problem that Lexus faces is that there is simply insufficient room to install a bigger battery so a recall would not achieve anything.
  5. Click on the banner at the top which has been up for a day or so.
  6. The driver's seat gives cause for concern - simply does not happen and I cannot recall anyone with an older car complaining of it here. There is no parcel shelf in the spec surely - unless these early cars had one?
  7. At the cost of repairs needed by some of these older second (or more) hand cars that are related here, that warranty is well worth it!
  8. Daft one - are the doors unlocked? Certainly with the RX400, if the passenger doors are locked, the tailgates will not open: Beyond that a warranty issue surely or was it a private purchase?
  9. I am not entirely sure to which "Mr Roberts" you refer but I have expressed no displeasure at the thread's longevity. I have however been bemused privately by that length and that might support closure simply to save wasted bandwidth on something that has not been going anywhere for quite some posts.
  10. The problem is that everyone has to open all your posts, to see nothing new, in order to remove the 'unread' flag from the home page. That is not helpful, especially as most of the threads had been dormant for years.
  11. Out of curiosity I Googled this - there seem to be plenty of pieces about doing it. You might have a more detailed look at the subject and report but it would seem possible.
  12. Why have you posted this same comment in so many ancient threads, all of which are long dormant?
  13. Why is there such anxiety to have this done? yes, it needs to be done but if Lexus says it can wait why fret in the meantime.
  14. Yes, that is the thread that prompted me to make this one... t doesn't explain what the rule is and what it applies to. We aren't talking about a recall here. You have not made clear what "Rule" is troubling you? There is mention of a "rule" in the recall notice nor in the thread or associated posts etc. It's in the very thread you have linked me: hi all, mine is also to be recalled. only bought it just over 2 weeks ago. really have mixed feelings about this. what you guys think? i can return the car as under the 30day/1000 mile rule i know Lexus are putting right, but its just doesn't feel right if you know what i mean What I am asking is: What is the 30day/1000 mile rule? I had not looked at individual posts - it is buried amongst the comments made in response. It refers to a commercial offer made to buyers of second hand cars under the Lexus scheme I believe . In you case the time is well past. Indeed. What I am asking is COULD I have handed it back to them under this rule and SHOULD they have made me aware of this rule when I made the complaint, having been inside this rule at the time of complaint. It will doubtless be in the paperwork somewhere so I suspect that you have little chance of such a claim working. Who has actually tried to cure it recently?
