  1. i'll keep my eye on them as i'm always game for a bargain ;) although im probably looking for something with a lip on it if i'm shelling out more £ ;) Cheers for thinking of me ;) Si
  2. cheers for all that. Will need to look for wheels soon, well may as well, as will need a new set of boots for MOT anyways. Question mode round 29, what are the standard tyre sizes on 16" wheels as i had a spare set in the boot when i bought car but noticed they're not the same as currently on....... I'll have a look later. Thanks Si
  3. went to it years ago & it is a nice event, as above no boy racers as such more of a show & shine kinda thing. Not as big as some of the other jap shows in year which is nice in many ways :D Si
  4. sounds good, why does that date ring a bell are there definately no national shows on then? I know it's chavvy but is it USC at santa pod? Brum area is good for me, used to arraneg scooby meets around the Cov, Leic & brum area so know plenty of decent sized pubs+car parks in that area..... Si
  5. depends on the price of course, scoobies can be picked up cheap enough but as with all high perforance cars expect some big bills at some point. When you say no engine damage it;s never categoric it just means it aint gone pop yet, i'm sure the joyrider didn't adhere to warming up & cooling down properly as you should on such cars! As i say could still be a steal, so to speak, if it's cheap enough & for a track project or sumin but personally wouldn't want to unless the £ saving made it appealing enough. Si
  6. is that to say it's too late to get on stand now? Ta Si
  7. there's not an everything going option? So lager lager lager it si ;) Si
  8. ok so we now have conflicting infobut that would be good as there seems to be much more choice on the IS200 wheels at least on ebay etc So anyone cofnirm or deny? Ta Si
  9. cheers that is reassuring to some degree :D Going to take it into powerflow tomorrow for a nice healthy quote on twin twin full system & might as well replace cats, since i will need them. On that note actually anyone know how to check when engine is dated? Car is late 93 but i guess it takes many months to build ship etc etc so being optimistic i might be able to prove engine is pre aug 02 or whenever it needs to be to avoid emissions, wont hold me breathe thou..... Stuck a load of exhaust filler/repair putty stuff over hole just to make a desperate attempt for short term fix & notably someone had tried to do same before & looks like on the other downpipe, if thats correct phrase still, as well so probably just fell off recently, either way i smell some stainless steel credit card abuse around the corner.....lol Ta Si
  10. are these a regular occurance? i could use a few knowledgeable types ;) lol Si
  11. cheers for that went with blueprint in the end & they do seem to be good quality & went on easy enough. Went on their website & found a local supplier who got them in the next day.... Ta Si
  12. Got the blueprint ones in the end & they went on pretty damn easily although liek the guide says most of the time it takes it taking all the covers etc off. Still got a bit of working on to get her running properly me thinks..... Si
  13. Changed plugs & leads successfully yesterday & now unless it's my imagination actually sounds even worse now althou my mechanically retarded ear isnt sure if it's still a misfire or just the loud noise coming from having a nice big hole in the exhaust (not sure of the technical terms, downpipe? as it's just where the join is as exhaust comes down from erngine bay before leveling out?) + it seems like that long ago when i last used her, ok only a week, but think it maybe just cause i didn't notice before cause it's so quiet inside with doors & windows shut When i took her for a drive yesterday she was certainly popping a bit from the rear of the exhaust, would that be a result of the ropey exhaust, knackered cat or more likely still something more awry with the engine itself? Pulled smoothly enough, zaust noise aside, although i certainly wouldn't say she was on full power. I know it's hard to diagnose without hearing it or at least a better explanation & think i will take it somewhere to see what they think anyways but thought i'd see if anyone had any thoughts on best worst or otherwise case? I recall there's no real aftermarket exhaust for LS400 so presuming i just get powerflow to make one do i have to get a cat put back in as a 1993 or can i get away without one legally speaking? although i do know a friendly MOT man who used to get me decatted RX7 through nudge budge ;) lol. Ta Si (hoping it's nothing too major as my confidence on working on the lex is growing after changing plugs seemed to go OK......)
  14. indeed i know lexus is just a rebranded toyota to compete in posher market was just triple checking the coolant would be same from toyota given the threads i read said to always use lexus coolant, although they did 2 colours i went for red as i recall that being mentioned on here somewhere too. How much coolant does it take to do a full flush i've just topped her up ATM? Si
  15. i went blimey must be nearly 2 years ago, good meet & good pub & that was when it was getting darker earlier. Lots of nice rice rockets & a few poo ones :D lol Si
  16. OK just wasn't sure if the coolant was defo the same but all good. Thanks Si
  17. Hi, I see from reading using lexus coolant is cunning to avoid issues & basically i have toyota garage round the corner so will their coolant be the same good stuff the lexus loves or do i need to specifically go to lexus garage to get it? Ta Si (i did search honest.....)
  18. yeah go for it, are you not aloud to post link on forum for advertising reasons or something? What size are you going to specify then, si fishes for confirmation of offset for LS ;) Si
  19. i actually prefer 1, 3 & 4 but i do love a bit of bling rim ;) Can you post details of what they're called & where you;re looking at them? Also for clarity what offset are you going with, i asked the other day & theory on LS seemed to be 50? I had such rims on me RX7 & i did like a retard forget to keep them cleaned one winter & it did take the shine off one of them but presuming you're keeping old set i'd just put those on over winters salty season or at worst give them a wipe down after a drive..... All good choices IMO Si
  20. way smaller than "standard" sig sizes thou, hell even the avatar is nearly as big? I appreciate the reason for setting a limit as it is annoying when there's an entire web page after someones name & there may still be some none broadband folks out there but is it just me (and not finding an easy way to reduce my sig & keep it readable) or are the limits a bit too restrictive? Ta Si
  21. alrighty then i will get callign tomorrow & see what i can break at the weekend :D lol Si
  22. Cheers for that, sounds like as is usually the way OEM is more expensive & unlikely to be better so i'll do some calling & see what we can see. Thanks Si
  23. I have done a search & found a few of the other lexii :D seem to have issues if the "master" key is lacking with regards replacing. Dunno how it affects LS400 but basically i only have a pretty mullered key which has been glued into a lexus plastic key shell & a plain metal bit of key in the document holder. So basically what's the crack with getting a replacement key which doesn't look so buggered & can be put on a keyring & what is the theory with remote central locking etc as there's no sign of any buttons on the one full gluey key i do have? Ta Si
  24. actually thinking about it that site is so well laid out on how to i may have a pop at it, what's the worst that can happen, dont quote me on that when i have to go to A&E to have a V8 surgically removed from my groin........lol. If i can get bits by weekend so could use some help on where's good for bits, speicifcally HT leads as i can get the plugs easy enough......? Si
  25. Spark plugs seems relatively easy to come by on the main sites but can anyone confirm a good place & what the specifics, presuming there are different sorts, of what HT leads i would need are? Ta Si
