  1. GALex that is a good idea, I will ring around and see if I can get this done.
  2. Has anyone in the UK had the following work carried out under warranty - Auxiliary Audio Input Port Noise TSIB L-AU001-07? I took my car into Lexus two weeks ago and they stripped it down only to find out the wiring was different in my car compared to the instructions they received from Lexus. I have been told by my dealership they are waiting to hear back from Lexus GB however I have my car booked in again in two weeks for them to try this again. If anyone has had any success with this please let me know. - Attached is the TSIB. L-AU001-07 Audio AUX Noise TSIB.pdf
  3. I am very glad to have found this, having been quoted £70/mon for extended warranty cover direct from Lexus I was not best pleased and found this to be over priced. However after reading some of the comments on hear it seems it's definitely money well spent. I will speak to Lexus and see what deal they are willing to offer me, hopefully I can get them down to £50-60/mon. Anyone got pricing they can share for an IS250?
  4. Make sure you make it obvious from the start you want to keep the silver valve(s). I recall having my front wheel changed and a black nasty valve installed, after much deliberation eventually getting the mechanic to change the wheel and putting a silver valve back on at no extra cost.
  5. Update: After writing a sturdy letter to the Manager of my dealership, I have now got my car booked in to have all four wheels replaced under warranty :)
  6. I am aware of this, it's when they come back into position either from going into reverse or being closed that they don't retain the previous position they were in.
  7. Unfortunately someone from Lexus who thinks he knows what he is talking about will always accompany you when taking an IS-F for a test drive. On one occasion I was allowed to take it out of the showroom and back again with dead weight in the passenger seat nagging me all the way. On another occasion I had to be a passenger for several miles before the beast was handed over to me. Compare this to Mercedes who let me take the CLS63 ad C63 out of the forecourt and back without any silly questions or someone trying to teach me how to drive, we even had to stop for fuel as I was heavy footed :)
  8. I find this very strange and quite pathetic really, my brother had his Astra stolen in Sep 2009 and the police recovered it in Nov 2009. We sent yesterday to the Police compound and started the car up for the first time in 8 months and it started first time with no problem whatsoever. What does this say about Lexus.....
  9. Hi, I had my Alloys replaced last year under warranty due to corrosion without me making any suggestions about it. This year I asked Lexus to look at the Alloys as their is definitely corrosion on them again. Strangely this time they have refused to replace them under warranty as one of the Alloys has been kerbed slightly and according to Lexus they cannot replace the Alloys due to this. Am I being fobbed off or this the experience others have had?
  10. Hi, Has anyone experienced their side mirrors on a IS250 going out of position when the mirrors are folded or when the car is put into reverse? I am 100% sure I have this problem however Lexus were unable to replicate the issue when I took the car in. Now I am baffled, I am not sure if they are trying to avoid doing some work under warranty or if they really couldn't replicate the problem....
  11. This is the only reason why I haven't got one, the C63 is so much more tempting with the 5 seats.
  12. Why bother? I've had my 250 SE-L for four years now and the space saver has never been used. If it has to be it's only to get you home or to the nearest tyre services. It seems that Lexus/RAC disagree with you. I had a blow-out on the motorway and called the RAC (cover provided by Lexus). They hauled my car to the nearest service station and then refused to take me to my end destination as I had a space saver in my car. It was 01:00AM in the morning and I had a family travelling with me (including two children under 10) as we were going on vacation. Lexus/RAC told me that it was safe for me to complete a 230mile motorway and A road journey using the space saver to get to my end destination where I would need to find at my own accord a tyre replacement service. I obviously refused to do this and the RAC/Lexus people couldn't see why this was an issue, as far as they were concerned it was safe for me to do this. I ended up opting to pay some third-party to come and fit me a new tyre which cost me £460, the replacement tyre was inferior and not even the same thread/make as the existing tyres which meant I had to change my other front tyre at my own cost aswell. I am yet to write a letter to Lexus and RAC but I really don't see the point as there is absolutely nothing they can do as they not just cost me a stupid amount of money but also ruined the start of our family holiday. I can't see why you think Lexus/RAC disagree with me, as I said "to get you home or to the nearest tyre services" Obviously the tyre service facility would need to be open to provide you with a repair or replacement tyre, just your bad luck there aren't that many open at 1 a.m. I've got a full size alloy spare in the IS200, which I've owned for 8 years. In that time it's been used once. The reason I said they disagree with you is because you said space savers will get you to your nearest tyre service or home which I totally agree with. Lexus/RAC are saying you can use the space saver for a 230mile journey which both me and you know is nonsense regardless of the time of day.
  13. I think we've all been there mate, I've had mine stolen several times and once off my own drive just like you. On another occasion when my car got towed, I went to collect to see all four were missing. I blame the local kids and their need to put these on bikes. Caught two of them in the act once, I must say the parents were very apologetic and the kids got a good hiding from what I hear, lucky for them they were underage and didn't get my wrath :)
