  1. Just to add... they did things by the "book" and attached is what they used. As you'll see, could be anything from MAF, 5th Injector,... ECU update. Good luck on a fantastic car!
  2. Software update? Had the same problem. Used the youtube clips referenced elsewhere in this forum and cleaned the EGR valve thoroughly. However, this was not enough as well as long ru s (multiple). Ended up taking it to Lexus. Came back a new car, response was as new. Consumption was great and of course no smoke even in very cold weather (<= 0) - which is when it predominantly manifested itself. From Lexus I was informed that they (re)cleaned the EGR, did a Software Update, and since no other faults were found, that was all they did for this issue. Note that, my driving routes are mainly city driving which is not ideal for diesels. Also i've had the car for 11years now and I don't think the egr and onwards had ever been cleaned :( I would take it to Lexus, worth the trouble imho.
  3. if you order directly from flyaudio.net you can get it for 1200$ plus about 150$ for shipping.
  4. Apparently this seems not only specific to the is250, as my is220d has also played this tune a few times. I do little kms and i havent gone in for the 1st service yet, and basically ignored it since it happened only 6-7 times in the last year. I'm wondering if any other 220d owners are experiencing the same issue. If so, it doesnt seem to be specific to the engine.

  6. I too have encountered this, but on my is220d, a few times over the past 1.5years. Since it happened just a few times independently of the day temperature being freezing cold or blazing hot, and since I havent gone in for my first service yet, i too am interested in knowing what this is related to. In my opinion this cant be normal and quite frankly embrassing when it happens. I'm going in for a service soon so I'll ask about it, along with the "yawn" or "fart" noise when i turn the ign off (harmless it seems).
  7. Thank you for the feedback adjust8r. I think I will go ahead and schedule the service and not wait till the 30 K kms as they reported.
  8. Ah great Monster-Mat, thanks for the info! :winky: Edit: As always i'm very curious --> Wiki - Electronic Throttle Control
  9. Hi all, I purchased an is220d new in 10/2007 and the dealer told me that the first inspection would be at 30 000Km (18 641 Mi). I dont do many km's a year, as its currently reading just over 15 000 km - i.e., it hasn't gone for its first service/inspection (1year 5months since purchase), and honestly this makes me a little nervous. I was hoping to hear from other 220d owners to determine whether 30 000 km is indeed the lexus service interval or i should get it in asap. The car is running fine as far i can tell, no power issues, consumption is suprisingly great (6-7l/100) given the amount of complaints other users have placed in this regard. I do however sporadically encounter a difficulty to start the engine - which tries and tries and will not start - which i work around it by turning off the ignition then trying again and works. This occured about 7-8 times in the past year and a half and independently of the weather (hot or cold). Thanks in advance. Regards, Ode
  10. Hello All, I was wondering if anyone has noticed what i can only describe as a "yawn" sound eminating from the engine bay after i turn the ignition off. I suspect its not a problem, but was just wondering what in fact this is. Thanks for your feed-back Kind Regards, Ode.
  11. Hi Roger thanks for your feed-back. I managed to get the US versions but like you said there's no version for 220d. I will do as advised and have a look on ebay. Regards., Ode
  12. HI all, I have a 10/2007 IS 220d purchased in Germany. Having bought it here "everythings" (manual) is in German and well, given my still current inability to grasp the german language i was wondering if anyone could provide me with an English e-version of the IS220d Owners manual. I tried searching the forum posts and found a similar request (here) but with regards to the Haynes manual. Although this would be good too, i'm primarily searching for the 220d's Owners Manual at this point. Much obliged to anyone who may help. Kind Regards, Ode
