is200 wont it......
altezza may, but the 3sge from a fwd, isnt designed for rwd application
From reading around on some other forums and talking to someone about it the fwd engine can be altered ie sump/ oil pickup pipe need adapting which isnt to difficult when we have relatives in engineering
also i dont know where you are but getting a gearbox from an altezza seems to be almost impossible in sunny old england unless someone out there has one lying around. Whats the difference between the altezza and the is200 anyway as i was told they were the same car virtually sorry for sounding a bit dumb but these cars are quite new to me and im still trying to figure out between the differnt models /names
the difference on the is200/altezza is the sid ethe starter motor is on, this is important as its the opposite to the exhaust manifolds which are opposite on the tezza/is200, they use the same box, but different bellhousings
if as i assume its for a kit car, you would be able to make it al work anyway
I have just found some pics from a kit car in aus which has the 3sge and altezza 6 speed box in, am i right from what you are saying that the is200 box and its bellhousing will fit but the starter will be on the wrong side? (under exhaust) if this is so ive got to fabricate a four branch manifold anyway so i could acomodate this
again thanks for the help i was getting to the stage where i was thinking it wasnt going to be worth it which is a shame with such a good engine
yep with the is200 bellhousing the starter will be under the exhaust manifold, also the bellhousing will be for the 6 cylinder engine not the 4 cylinder
is the 4 cyl and 6 cyl a different bolt pattern then?
