  1. Hello, Does anyone have any recommendations for an independent mechanic in the Berkshire (Bracknell/Wokingham) area? I need the following work looked at on my LS460:- - Tyre pressure system is not working - I think it needs one or two sensors replaced. - Front centre parking sensor is not working. All others are OK. - Outside boot release is not working. Any suggestions most welcome. I normally use the Lexus Reading dealership but I wondered how an independent would compare on price. Thanks.... DavidB
  2. Over the last few months my mpg has been steadily increasing. I don't have a clue why - my driving routes/profiles are the same and I haven't changed fuel (always use standard supermarket fuel). I used to get about 485 miles to a full tank, but now it's up to 520 miles - quite a significant jump. Any ideas why? LS460 - four years old, 35,000 miles on the clock. Mainly driven to and from work - motorway about 33 miles each way. Normally stick to about 70-75 on the motorway.
  3. Just renewed my insurance. LS460, clean licence, good NCD, 56 year old. Price was 467 on Admiral multi car policy.
  4. Hi. Does anyone use the premium unleaded petrol in their LS460? I don't, and I wonder if I'm missing anything. Other than paying more money is their any advantage in doing this?
  5. That happened on just a slight incline? That's very bizarre, unless it was just ice underneath I wouldn't expect a car to do that.........that's got nothing to do with RWD though, any car would have slid down if it happened to the Merc. Yep - that's pretty much what happened to me. My block paviour drive has a very slight incline towards the garage door, and stopping on the drive (from 1mph) caused the car to slide forwards and sideways. I tried to reverse it to straighten it up and that just caused it to slide more. I'm not sure whether to clear the remaining snow from the drive or let it melt naturally.
  6. Well I'm having a fairly exciting day here in the snow. The car's got a mind of it's own and unfortunately doesn't tend to go where I want it to! The LS is the largest car I've owned - before that I had an Audi A6 which I don't remember giving that many problems. So is there an additional set of problems driving big cars in the snow? And other than staying in any tips for handling?
  7. I took delivery of my LS460 a couple of weeks ago. Just about worked out how most of it works now, but I was a bit surprised that there weren't any locking wheelnuts. Is this to be expected on an LS?
