  1. I had a boot leak on my Mk4 LS400. The garage put an apprentice in the boot with a torch and then hosed it down. When they opened it the guy inside was pointing to exactly where it was leaking. The seal had flattened on the corner where it drops down. It needed a new seal.
  2. Great to see such high mileage and praise. I have a 1998 Mk4 with 123,200 on the clock. Just had the discs skimmed and brakes done because of brake judder ruining my driving pleasure. All OK again now. Wonderful car.
  3. My '98 LS400 had the original CD. I got the latest available in 2006 from Lexus Newcastle and it cost me £161, but I'm not sure what the version number was. When you load the disc it takes a while because it upgrades the application software as well as the maps. Be patient. I think one of the updates is house numbers, which you couldn't enter on the previous version. Maps are good, and the whole of UK is covered, but the York by-pass is not. You'll be back in that field. I've no complaints. Well worth the money to me.
  4. Satin black sounds cool. My LS is dark green so not sure they'ed even be seen. I guess that's the point.
  5. So after the tree fell on my car and I got it back from the repairs, some moron used a screwdriver to nick my boot badge. All I have now is a scratch. I've looked for a replacement and there are two sizes on ebay. 121mm x 90mm or 95mm x 70mm Has anyone got the measurements from their 1998 LS400 boot badge please?
  6. Thanks Steve. I found it right where you said and with the wires attached. It had broken away from the mounting. It looks very brittle and I've not managed to disconnect it. I fixed it to the frame again but it's still showing high. Will have to see how much a new one is.
  7. Thanks Steve. I'll check it as soon as it stops raining and let you know.
  8. Hi everyone. I’ve owned my LS400 for about 2 years and I’ve gained some very useful information from the LOC website. Thanks for sharing it. Earlier this year we had storms in the North East of England which blew a large tree onto the nearside rear wing of my car. Apart from the huge dent, it also blew the shock absorber on that side. Having got it back from the repairs, looking as beautiful as it did before, I’ve found that the external temperature is always showing about 11 degrees higher than it should. Display says 29C, when it is really only about 18C outside (that's good for the North). Any idea where the sensor is? Or any idea what else might be causing it?
