Had my IS250 SEL for over 18 months now and been in 3 times for dashboard rattles on passenger side. Each time my fingers crossed but each time not resolved. The cold snap of late has made the rattles particularly bad recently. I will book in tomorrow for number 4 attempt. Such a shame but the rattle is so annoying.....

Had dash out 3 times for rattle on passenger side near air vent (Exeter Lexus). No change. Same old excuses re temperature of car, weather and 'it never rattles when the technician takes it out'. All very polite in dealership but never solved this problem. Like others on this post I have given up complaining (thank god for Mark Levinson at 50+ volume which is my own personal fix!). Shame as I love the car but this rattle may have lost a future purchase from me....

Really hope your rattle has gone. My dash has been out three times and rattle still occurs near passenger's side front of dash. Not all the time though! Very frustrating.... aaaaaargh.

Had 20k service completed yesterday at Exeter. When booked I was quoted £283. When I collected charged £334. When I questioned the price against the quote the invoice was adjusted and I was charged the lower amount without any issues which I thought was good service. Moral of story - always get a quote when booking.

Agree on the rattles front. Had a rattle near centre of dash and had dealer take dash off to fix (which was succesful). Came back and a new, more annoying 'hard plastic' rattle now made on the passenger side near vent/dash. Had dash out a further two times at dealer but stil not cured. Due 20k service soon so will raise again. Sooooooo annoying!

Thanks Geoffers for the advice. Buzzers now disabled :D - still got the red flashing warning on the dash which is certainly sufficient. Need more MODs!!

Chill Captain Nemo! I defend the Lexus 'oldman' image enormously having previously had an S2000 but now I'm starting to wonder!! Maybe I'll keep my outspoken thoughts to myself in fear of upsetting anyone! (would still be fun though! How about a TV on the move as well!)

Do you have to dismantle anything, or cut any wires to install it? AND.... Can you fully access the phone while moving? If it's like the one where you cut wires, then I wouldn't be interested...mine rattles enough as it is - perish the thought of taking something out... Yes please do spill the beans. Love the IS250 BUT....HATE: Buzzers, Not seeing full telephone directory when on move, Safety start up menu EVERY time I start the car; and I guess DVD on the move would be fun too!!!

The ML MM is a great peice of kit however does anybody know if there are any options to: 1. Add speed cameras to the Sat Nav. 2. Turn off safety message when start up - I have been so agreeable since owning this car!!! I am guessing the answer to both of these is no but would make my day if something could be done. Cheers

No more rattles! Horraar... When in for 10k service mentioned the rattle and Lexus Exeter were more than familiar with it. Apparently an 8 hour job so kept car for 2 days but seems to have done the trick. All covered by warranty so just the £143 10k service bill to settle. Had 220D SE as courtesy car - I must admit I was pleased to get mine back! Can't fault the service received so far... long may it continue.

It's just the way it is, so you can't select names whilst driving. I believe there are some hacks to enable to work around it. Any idea what the hacks are to use full phone book whilst in motion? Also to turn off safety message when starting car?

Mine too. Now done 9,700 miles and rattle now very obvious behind centre consol (near the dashboard speaker and windscreen) when driving over anything but smooth surface. Admittedly the Mark Levinson is usually working over time but occasionally when not used is very very annoying. Have mentioned to Lexus ahead of 10k service next week but is it something they can rectify???

I do the same with cup holder but despite having MM on IS 250 SEL does not display incoming call ID on screen - have over 500 contacts downloaded. Kind of ruins the object if I can't see the name without picking up phone to check who it is and also can't select a contact from complete list on MM whilst driving unless a speed dial (which is limited). Again I pick up the phone to select from address book to dial - how naughty am I?? Any ideas or is this just the way it is?
