  1. Happy Birthday Basha!

  2. I am a real pain when it comes to looking after my Lexus. Can i suggest you try meguires cleaning products, if you log onto thier web site they will send you a brochure with all the products you could wish for they even have an anti grit wash bucket. Halfords are starting to sell more and more of meguires stuff. I have been using there gear for years and i totaly recommend them. Have a look for yourself, it costs nothing to look. Hope this helps. Basha
  3. Hello Fellow toony, Your right its easy to pick fault, but praise is not so forthcoming, and apart from a vibrating mirror, i really do enjoy driving the motor As for poor service, i paid for a set of roof bars for mine only to find they took a set off the car in the showroom, but as a fellow Geordie, they wont get away with it. Back in tomorrow to make sure. Keep in touch Basha
  4. Guy's, I traded a 2.2Diesel Honda civic ( absolute flyer) for my new 220d, if you want a fast economical car buy a Honda. If you want a refined first class piece of engineering and build quaility buy the lexus. As for performance, you just gotta get used to the different gear set up, if you drive it right, it can go real quick, as for MPG, i average 37, and i aint no vicar Basha
  5. Hello again, Bought a new 220d last week, when i ordered car i asked the dealer if he could De-badge the Lexus and is220d Yes we can he said. But when i went to pick up car, badges were still on, Why i asked, only to be told the badges had locating pins so they would leave 2 holes in the body work. I thought makers had stopped this practice years ago, and now just stuck badges on. It also looked like someone had had a go to remove badges ans bent the L, so now i have to get them to fit a new badge. Does anyone know if the badges are pinned or is my dealer telling porkies????
  6. try to change the position of the mirror. it has two joints, so it can be higher or lower and still adjusted. This helped me. Thanks Matus, Didn't know about that so will give it a try
  7. Nope...can't duplicate it either Guy's, If you pump the brake pedal without the engine running you will fill the servo's full of fluid, pedal will feel rock hard, Not a fault at all, thats just the way servos work. Next time your out for a lavish take away, keep your foot of the brake pedal, and you should be fine. hope you enjoyed your supper Basha
  8. Hello Macnorec Just bought a new is220d se, dealer said it would take around 10k miles before i would see good fuel return. Currently averaging 37mph, i dont do (sunday driver syndrome) but i dont drive like a traffic cop on speed either. Reckon you should see what the dealer comes up with. As for 6th gear, The way the gearing has been set up (low ratios) i reckon you will always need to be over 2k revs to use 6th, bit like an overdrive on the old MG
  9. Thanks Jamboo, Been quite a few years since i was at school, but yoour right, you do learn something everyday. Thanks again Basha
  10. This is definitely a trouble (and for sure - i have the same). Lexus is aware about and working under new hardware (mirror mount) - it should be available soon. This is an information from my Lexus dealer. Thanks Bluey, Told my Lexus dealer (Newcastle) what you said, but they say this is the first they have heard, but they are looking into it for me. Thanks again, Basha
  11. Many thanks Saracen, looks like this is going to be a great club. clocked up around 200 miles this weekend, and loved everyone, real nice motor, better than my previous merc sport coupe.
