My dad now has my Lexus GS300 on a 1999 plate There was a noise coming from the engine bay high screeching could be heard from inside the cabin, I soon managed to suss its the famous fault from the brake accumulator, Lexus quoted £200- for the part alone! Needless to say I found the second hand cannistor for £50 delivered, now I am trying to track the guy down from either either or soarer world who charges about £120 to fully service the part etc so I know the one going on is good. I was going to do it myself but dont think ~I am thorough enough and after visiting a few garages I found one that will do it, anyone know if the rest of the brake servo can stay on the car and jsut remove the cannister once brake resevoir is removed? Hi guys, Ive noticed my door strip on drivers side has come away, the bit of rubber that runs along the bottom, where can I find a new one? ITs on a lexus GS300 Also my car is the navigator model and the touch screen seems ot reset itself oocasionally to km and the sat nav will reset to London? Im guessing where the car was bought? Any ideas on this, it only takes seconds to reset but can get annoying Cheers guys

Long story short decided to change my pads today on brakes, only to find that after I had got 3 very seized nuts off that the final nut was the locking wheel nut, no problem usually but after removing the plastic case on top of nut I saw that someone had obviously tried to get this off before and expanded all 3 key holes where the adaptor fits and chewed them al up. I have managed to chisel off the plastic sleeve surrounding the nut and Im about to order those self tapping nut removers from internet, can this tool be used with a normal ratchet or do I need a air powered gun type thing ?:) Also am I right in thinking the tool I need is a 17mm adaptor?

Forgot I had a mate who's dad owns a garage, job done for £10 cant complain, ordered some new pads on the way home to, decided may as well do those while Ive got two days off :) cheers for the replies guys

While looking for new alloys my exhaust developed a rattle, on closer inspection it is one of the smaller heat sheilds on the middle section, took it to a local tyre and exhaust garage who said the weld has come loose and I would need a new centre peice! which is only available from Lexus, I on the other hand think it should be fine to get it re-welded, anyone got any reasons as to why I shouldnt do this? Also anyone know who could do this in the Kidderminster area?

I kinda assumed it was for all 4? obviously not, are they different? They could all be the same, but you would need to make sure so that it can be calculated correctly if they will fit. Ive mailed him, would it be ok to drop yo u a pm when he gets back as you seem to know what your talking about lol

By fot mean fit lol As title really guys Ive seen some nice alloys Stud diameter 114 FRONT WHEEL SIZE 18" X 8.5J WITH 235-40/ZR18 TYRES REAR WHEEL SIZE 18" X 9.5J WITH 265-35/ZR18 TYRES offset is 35?!! These are being sold by a guy with a supra who is selling as it doesnt fit over his bigger calipers. Will they fit my 1999 GS300 Navigator (before I buy them and realise they dont fit and/or to wide etc

Hi guys Ive had my GS300 Navigator (V plate) for a few months now and loving it, well all apart from the constant visits to the petrol station! Anyway my sat nav and on board screen seems to be going a bit..well..strange...it started a few weeks ago by wiping all saved data like mpg and average mpg since each petrol fill up, then it changed my saved infor like mpg and english language to km and german! then everytime I started the car in the morning the sat nav thought I was in London (I think where the car was bought) eventually it would catch up but occasionally it would also lock me out of the menu so I couldnt change it! its fine today but may go again tomorrow! Has this happened to anyone else? IF so how the hell do you fix it lol Cheers guys Reece

Thanks fella, Im actually liking the look of the soarer, to which Ive been told to aim for the 4 litre version..no major problems as long as they have full service history? Ive jsut jumped on direct line quickly to get a quote on the soarer but it says they dont recognise the make and model..what would I expect to pay im.. 27 10 years NC 3 Points TS20 License held since 17 Reece

Someone has also mentioned to me about teh Soarer? Same engine as the LS but a bit cheaper so I wont end up with a bargain basement one...these seem more around my price range? Anyone know about these? Got a lil seat in the bakc to for the lil un (she is only 5 so will fit lol)

Right guys guess this is my "hello" to this forum. Story goes I have owned MR2 turbos for the past 4 or so years and have now decided that I want a change into something bigger and alot more comfortable. The sale of my MR2 should be completed in 9 days time and after paying of some debts will leave me with £2.5-£3k to spend on my next car. Now I know this isnt alot for one of these cars and Im sure you must of had a million posts about cars on ebay but Ive been looking and it seems I could get a 130k milage lexus for about my price range. The thing is I cant decide between the GS300 or LS400...mpg seems to be mid 20s which is the same as my MR2 now so that aint a problem, nor is insurance as I have 10 years NCB Whats the main difference in these cars? the only thin Im sure on is I want the one with what looks like the SAT NVA screen in the middle of the centre dash. Any help or opinions guys? What should I be looking for apart from the obvious service history etc and common faults? Cheers guys
