My mate bought a Jag XJR and gets about 16mpg if he drives it like a nun! I get about 30mpg in my Mk 3 LS and \i always have it on ETC and occasionally fall into juvenile mode at the lights (shame on me) ...so although his is more powerful (negligable) he can only use his at weekends....hahaha

are you sure as my 93 has the pwr/ect button next to the gear lever but not on it? The pwr/ect button is not the gear shift. Hi and welcome to the LS elite!! True, the etc button was never on the gear shift. On the mk I & II the button on the gearshift was was the shift lock overide. On the mk III this button is top right of the gear console. I actually preferred this button on the gearshift....takes 2 hands to engage it now. There is a guy on here who has all the answers to the electrical Idiosyncrosies....can't tnink of his name but will look it up for you. Mk III alarm is not a siren but a horn! Also there is a button under the dash to turn on/off the setting beep. Regards Ken

Hi Alan, The 21 and 23 error codes now make sense as I tried it at night. I took it to kwik-fit today and they gassed it up. Cost £45 and its working perfectly. A Lexus engineer told me that the refigerant tends to leak from the condensor connections on the LS. Anyway, thanx a lot for the top tip (Lexus were trying to flog me a new condenser!!) Regards Ken

Hi Izzy, It's cos it's a group 19 and you are leaving it out on the road. Also, the L postcode doesn't help. I am L32 so I know how you feel! Try offering a higher excess but to be fair, £650 is about right for the class of car. Mine was £880 but I have business use and 20K miles per year so cant really use it as a comparison. Regards Ken

Hi Alan, I did this and I get the following: The display shows 14, then beeps 3 times...each beep is accompanied by a display as follows....21....23....24 Then back to 14 (no beep) and starts again. Any ideas? Regards Ken By the way...The only key i can press that does anyting after the 3 beeps is the recirculate key...which steps through all the functions and speeds.

Hi Ian, I phoned lexus and they said there is no fuse/relay as it is powered by the drive train. Looks like I have to take it in for a check up. Regards Ken
