  1. Normal, most of the time - I dont think sport is impacted in the same way.
  2. Has anyone encountered this issue? I saw a similar post on another forum but my LC has an occasional hesitation (as if its not sure which gear it wants to use, almost like the TPS isn't really doing its thing. You end up using more throttle than necessary and so when it decides to engage the gear you shoot off:
  3. Yes, mine arrived today (based in UK) and managed to install in about 30 mins. I need to do some DB readings but there is a noticeable difference open or closed. Certainly will be less annoying for my neighbours should I have an early morning departure.
  4. I've just ordered that kit, hopefully the closed valve option will help with start up at unsociable hours.
  5. Mine has just arrived so I'll give it a go when the wind dies down a bit during the week.
  6. As in how did you get on with using the touch up paint, did you take before/after pictures? I need to do the same for a small chip on my LC.
  7. How did you get on @RiverFred? I need to do the same on mine prior to detailing.
  8. And I am an official LC 500 owner. Lovely drive back.
  9. Full surround and a better parking camera are really big misses imo. I think the rarity factor is a big reason for the change. Everyone has a Tesla these days 🙂 How is the LC on normal driveways, ours is pretty standard. The Tesla has a ground clearance of 5.5 inches and doesn’t have any issues.
  10. White or blue would have been my preference but those colours are so rare.
  11. So I’ve just put down a deposit on the V8. Reasoning being it’s the last time I’m going to have the option, all cars from this point are going to be EV It was in great condition and I managed to get a good deal on my trade in and on the car so the cost to change is small, £59440 for a 2018 sport model with 12k on the clock was too good to turn down. Collect this Saturday.
  12. Tbf these are 5 year & 4 year old cars but the hybrid had a missing badge (on order) and had paint repair so alongside the worn interior it felt like that it hadn't been loved. The V8 was 1 owner originally sold by the same dealer who then returned to when they traded in against a LC convertible which is a good sign.
  13. Oh don’t get me wrong I’m pretty sold on the LC500, it would be my 3rd Lexus. Just a question of finding one in the right spec. I am sad that they still seem to use the same reversing camera as my old RX400h though. Re the noise comment, when it’s that loud and still slow (in comparison to what I have), I’m on the fence. I thought I would have a more emotive reaction to it, especially after the sterile/clinical nature of the Tesla. Both are great options. I am still surprised at the hybrid, oddly I think it suits the cars character more than the v8. I think my route to the car is different to most on here coming from an electric. Lots to ponder today. The real shame of the v8 is that it’s missing the HUD, any idea if it can be retrofitted? I assume not. We’ll see what the dealer(s) come up with price wise today.
  14. Well after 7 hours driving and and hour or so of test drives I'm back home. First up the hybrid in deep blue and ochre interior. Generally good condition though needed a deep clean a trim piece replaced and some swirl marks removed. Loved the external colour and the interior but it did make it feel a bit old at first glance. Performance was more than acceptable, fake noise and gear shifts made it feel like a video game, which isn't a bad thing. The 'box felt a bit snatchy at times and for a 2017 car the interior seemed well worn (the paint steering wheel controls was coming off). Rear seats are a joke but at a push it could get my youngest in there. One thing that did suprise me is how much I could feel the car move when the engine came on, I had a similar experience in my leggy 400h but assumed it was down to worn engine mounts. Clearly it's a feature of the power unit. Then I drove to Coventry to see a V8 in red with a black interior. The change in interior colour made it feel more modern, serious even. I wasn't blown away by the noise, it sounded nice but after electric cars there is some aspect of it just being exactly that, noise. As mentioned above my Tesla does 0-60 in 3.1, so whilst the sound was something I don't know if it was a game changer for me. It also felt like there was more road noise compared to the hybrid. The gear box was indeed faster and more precise but again, not sure if it's enough to make a difference for me. Overall both drivetrains are excellent, and testing one with the HUD really made me miss it in the other. Whilst I won't likely buy that example of the hybrid it certainly wasn't the open and shut case I had expected. The V8 being in red (future paint damage and colour matching scares me) and lacking the HUD probably counts that one out. Great fun though.
  15. Agreed, I am doing the hybrid first then traveling to another Lexus dealer for the v8 - I currently drive a Tesla model 3 performance so its going to be odd to pay more for a slower car. The heart definitely is interested in the v8 but the stealth of the hybrid also appeals.
  16. Two test drives booked for saturday, one for the hybrid and one for the v8
  17. How do you find the hybrid, did you compare it to the v8 prior?
  18. Agreed not too fussed about interior colour but the cream/rose makes it feel a lot older than it is.
  19. I would really like the white and dark wood interior rather than the cream/black with rose wood. hard to find spec
  20. Nothing major to fix though: Not sure how it can still have a valid MOT till may with a fail though?
  21. Thanks for the responses, as I've not driven an LC I'm not confident on sending in an offer prior to testing it in the metal (especially as its the hybrid version).
  22. Browsing approved used LC's atm and saw the 'negotiate on this car' option - has anyone used this vs in person haggling?
  23. For sure, it's a great car from what I can see - might be test driving one on the weekend.
  24. I spoke with Lexus and they state that UK cars came from Japan, so it's likely that the 600 does not have this valve but they are checking with their technical team to confirm.
