  1. Thats how i felt about the situation and thats how my local citizens advice centre saw it too. I've asked for contact details for Meccatune. We'll see how it goes!
  2. Easy! Still totally appreciate your help mate!
  3. Yes actually. My friend Jay has. He told me where i could buy thre bulbs from. Then a few weeks after my bulb popped his did! Perhaps its the climate in Aberdeen? Hehe
  4. They werent HID conversion kits. They were the £9.99 Meccatune Halogen bulbs. I understand were you're comin form but i know better than to touch the bulb. Made that mistake before. hehe
  5. im not trying to bad mouth prolex im just wanting to find out if anyone knows where i stand. and how much replacements will cost. whether they're new or second hand. I've had a few cars now and had to replace a fair few bulbs. i know you dont touch the glass section. just like the instructions say. I've got pics of both the bulbs and the headlight. thanks Chris
  6. Hi guys. I purchased Meccatune bulbs off of the Prolex website. Within 2 weeks one bulb (the drivers side) exploded. This in turn smoked the inside of the headlight unit and has left thousands of pieces of burnt blue glass inside which has melted into the reflective area. I called Prolex and they nicely sent me out replacement bulbs. I fitted these bulbs and after 4 hours the passenger side one exploded. This has caused the exact same thing to happen to my other light. £10 bulbs has left my with damaged headlight units. Prolex is refusing to supply new headlight units. This annoys me. Why should i be left a couple of hundred quid out of pocket for a very poor quality product?? Couple of questions.... Does anyone know where i stand on this? How much will replacement units cost? Regards Chris
  7. Thanks guys. I've got no intention of changing anything other than the headunit for now anyway.
  8. Hi guys. Plannin on changing my headunit to a 7 inch monitor but the website that i may be buying it from said i will have to bypass the amp? Will this be easy enough to do?? I've chnaged plenty of headunits but this will have me stumped!! Thanks for any advice. Chris
  9. It sure is mate. Same one. And i'm not Rogue! ha ha. Your cars fairly coming along. See you've gone for xenon lighthouse beams too! Magic aren't they!
  10. thanks guys. its a bugger to keep in that nick! need to clean it more than myself! ha
  11. Hi there, Yep, I'm lowering the car onto its "standard" alloys. I say "standard" 'cos I think they look cracking for standard alloys lol :) Jamie Good stuff. My ones are almost beyond repair! Going to get them powder coated and use them in winter. I'm thinking of coating them black. Any opinions? Too much black perhaps??
  12. So are you lowering 35mm on your standard 17"? Last thing i want to do is drop it 35mm and find it scrubs all round or the lip on the rear arches slices my tyres before i get off my driveway! ha
  13. they certainly are! i love them to bits. when they're clean and they're spinning at about 30 they're magic! the bottom two pics are just after i picked it from getting machine polished. i nearly cried! wouldnt think it was 6 years old! ha ha wish i had the cash to finace the list of stuff your cars had! hehe
  14. Hi folks. Now i know i'll be covering old ground here but i still need the advice. I own a Sport. its a 2001 model. Few questions: Will it have been lowered as it is a sport? I have fitted 18" x 7.5 alloys with 225/45 tyres (not certain bout the tyre size). i want to drop the car some more. I've found 40mm 35mm and 30 mm springs. i fancy the 40mm ones but will they cause a problem??? should i compromise and go for the 35mm ones? what else sould i really change at the same time? any help is much appreciated chris
  15. Howdy folks. Im Chris and im a very happy Lexus Owner. Had my car for 6 months now. Love it to bits! I have an IS200 Sport in Astral black with Sat Nav. Not done much to her to be honest. Have plenty of plans though! My standard 17"s were corroded to hell so i splashed out on new wheels. Also had the car machine polished by a local company. Delighted with the results. heres a few pics of my pride and joy!
