  1. Am loving LOC! Afterall this is where I got the fix for the idle/start problem, replacing the fuel pump ecu(once again, thanks bill). Sorry about the last post, did'nt read the date :iraqi-info-minister: DOH!
  2. Did you check on a pump control unit? Did it work?
  3. I know, I know......this should have been in the soarer forum! :iraqi-info-minister:
  4. very true supercharged! I am currently sationed on okinawa and there are a ton of cars running around with the lexus badge, hell I have even seen right hand drive saturns over here!
  5. I know, I know............I'm a little late in replying to this post and giving out a hearty web hand shake of welcome!I am stationed on okinawa and the extremely proud papa of a '92 Soarer TT :D B) Well timbo, yer starting prob is easily fixed, little on the spendy side however. Run yerself down to wherever you buy parts and tell them you need a fuel pump computer/control unit. I had the very same problem and that fixed it right up, at least on my car, a little bit better gas mileage now also (thanks Bill). Cost me 218.00 us :tsktsk: , so maybe 110.00 pounds for you(?) Anyhoo, welcome and enjoy a fantastic ride!
  6. I know it's been a while, but I have been somewhat busy. Just finshed installing a new fuel pump computer......grrrrrrrrrrrr , $218 ...............I have put on some nice 17" rims, An HKS intake and filter, And a HKS earth ground kit. Nuitn special, but like bill once told me..................baby steps grasshopper, baby steps. Will try to get some pics and post them when I can.

    Ahhhh!

That will be just about enough on the "americans don't have taste" bit thank you very much! How dare you lump all of us together with that idiot! Must say I am very disapointed to find such an opinion in such a fine car club.
  8. Well, I just got back to okinawa, and I'm here to tell ya..............................parts is damm expensive! I went to the auto hobby shop on base (which is supposedly cheaper than off base), and it's gonna cost me 700 us for stock replacement rotors and brake pads!
  9. Hi yaz! I'm on okinawa and have a '92 Soarer TT. The only probs I have run across are the stock brakes are kinda prone to wear and tear (rotors on mine have groved fairly easy), and my fuel pump ecu seems to be going a bit skizty. Other than those things, if you find a properly taken care of lexus SC/toyota soarer, it should last you a good long while. These cars were well made and have very good realibility histories. And from what I have been able to discern, you can take supercharged and bill's word as solid gold :D
  10. Well Warren, I to might be too late to add any input, however I am the extremely happy owner of a '92 Soarer TT (same, same) as the sc lexus models. All I can say is go for it. If it happens to be the single turbo even better as the twin turbos are parallel and not sequential, so you should see a bit more power out of the large single. As has been mentioned, the car being a '97, you shouldn't see much of any problems unless it has been poorly taken care of. And as you seem to know your way around cars, you should be more than able to spot the tell tales of poor maintenance. Good luck and happy motoring! B)
  11. I'll do some checking around when I return to okinawa from korea, could be a couple of months or more, not sure yet.
  12. I know there are many parts sources online, but if anyone has any japan only sourced parts, or knows of parts that can be gotten over here, drop me an e-mail, I'm willing to help out any fellow soarer owners!!
  13. Thanks for the info brn! I live on okinawa at the moment, and I am pretty sure that my side turn light are in addition to the amber turn signals, so I will give the mod a try.
  14. Welcome from a fellow new memeber mecury! From what bill has told me and from my own research, the sc250 and the soarer tt are one and the same beast, although I have never heard of one stateside. I'm working on being one of the few, if not the first sc250 to be in the states :arrrggg-matey: The 3.0 engine is supposed to be the same as the supra non turbo, and the one I drove was fast indeed. Not as fast as my TT, but fast enough. The only problems I have had as yet is the fuel pump ecu and the stock brakes going all wonky. Both of which are easy to fix, just got to find a good source for calipers, rotors, and pads. I just wanted to add for all you soarer owners, if bill or your local parts sources can't find ya something, drop me an e-mail and I'll see what I can find here on okinawa. Good luck mate!
  15. I would have to agree with Bill on this. I am not any kind of authority, but I am stationed on okinawa, and in the land of the supercar/street racer type of vechicles.............the Soarer TT is considered a very desireble car. I picked up a '92 with over a 100,000 kilometers and a somewhat faded paint job for $5000 us. The only problems I have had is the fuel pump ecu starting to go and idiots not paying attention when they open their doors while parked next to me! Now I have heard that the aristos and the 4.0 soarers are also very nice, but if you're looking for a second/toy type of car, the TT is a real beaut. :D
  16. Silly question totally unrealted to the subject. Does anyone know how I can make my car bigger in the pic wihtout too much distortion? ;)
  17. I have found the ECT power button to be a real kick in the backside B) , as has been mentioned I imagine the fuel consumption does go up a bit
  18. Stationed on okinawa.......................let me know if I can lend an hand!
  19. New guy on the block here. I am in the USAF and am stationed on Okinawa (Japan). Recently purchased an '92 Toyota Soarer 2.5 twin turbo, which I have been told is practically the same as an sc300/400. I have a lot of ideas I'd like to try out, but this is my first expirence with turbos. Also I have a few things on the car that while trivial, are beginning to drive me insane. Thanks in advance for any info that might be thrown my way!
  20. Greetings all, new member here! Proud new papa of an '92 2.5 twin turbo soarer B) ! She's muh baby, that's why I replied to this particular post. Personally I use a two coat system. After I have washed the car, I usually use turtle wax extreme cleaning wax to clean up an possible road dirt or oxidation that might have built up since the last wash. As a finishing coat, I use meguire's gold brand. Something else you might want to try for those quick detailings is the eagle one quick wax, it's great stuff for those in between regualr washes and prior to a road trip or right before a show.
