  1. That's exactly right & that's what happened with mine, when it's in get them to check the manifold as well as that the dealer couldn't replicate the problem that I had & the next time that it broke down, they looked in there & it was full of soot which had built up as it couldn't go anywhere...
  2. I would insist on them checking the car again & even having it to test for a couple of days. I noticed a similar problem especially after sitting with the engine idling (normally in congestion) & then accelerating, I reported it & was told that if the smoke was white then it was fine & probably only condensation. A week later it was being recovered because the manifold was full of soot. Coincidence? Maybe but better safe than sorry....
  3. Don't build your hopes up - mine's had to be recovered 6 times now - I can't wait to get rid of it, the dealer has tried everything to help sort out exactly the same problems but i've lost count of the number of 5th injectors & ECU upgrades... Not a word from Lexus HQ though....
  4. I had my recall letter 4 weeks ago & the 5th injector was replaced again (for the 4th time) but it didn't stop my breaking down again last week. 70,000 miles & 6 breakdowns isn't what I expected from a Lexus - not to mention 32mpg...
  5. Same here, My 220d has been backwards & forwards to the dealers SOOO many times (mainly on the back of a breakdown truck) - 6 recoveries, 3 recalls & numerous problems that i've reported. I can't wait to get rid of it but i'd have a petrol one tomorrow...
  6. B I N G O - Thanks to Peco84 Just keep the odometer button pressed in & press start without depressing the clutch pedal. The odometer will then show a series of dashes & start counting down, when the dashes disappear it's reset... Thats it while the ignition is in ACC mode without engine Running ( As mentioned in the owners manual) Handy Toilet reading info :winky: Regards Matt By the way why do you need an Oil check gauge on the Diesel As this is the first diesel i have owned why is it there ???

  8. Hi, does anyone know how to reset the oil maintenance light? My IS 220d has just had a service (last week!!) & the dealer forgot to reset it & I really don't want the hassle of having to go back to the dealer again just to reset it... Thanks
  9. You shouldn't have any problems Exiled, my IS 220d has broken down in the South East, the South West & the Midlands (twice) & each time the dealers have been very helpful although obviously the inconvenience is a pain. It's the car that's the problem, not the dealers. Thank goodness that Lexus dealers have a good reputation on the whole, let's hope that Lexus manage to get to the bottom of all of the problems before all the drivers lose their patience & start to vote with their feet....
