  1. Hold down the trip ODO reset button and press the start button with foot off the clutch to bring on ignition lights. On ODO dipslay you will see a countdown start, when it gets to the end release ODO button ans switch off ignition. Start car as normal and your display should be clear, all in all takes around 10-15 seconds... Hope this helps
  2. DTUK Try DTUK, everyone on the Vauxhall forums swear by their products with some excellent results and good warranty. They don't have the Lexus listed but think the box for the Avensis 2.2D 177ps will do as it's the same engine, increase bhp to 205 and torque to 470nm.. :)
  3. Just had mine in getting the alloys changed before warranty runs out and asked them to upgrade ECU... They did this and to be honest biggest difference I noticed was I could use 6th gear from around 65mph and seemed to pick away better from lower revs, was on motorway most of road home but on the short run from motorway to home noticed that I could come off a tight roundabout in third where usually I had to drop down to second.. Hopefully this keeps up.. Once car is out of warranty will Lexus offer free flash on any future upgrades or will this be dependant on the dealer???
  4. Cailen, I got quoted the same from Edinburgh, Glasgow were around £315 and independent using genuine parts was £200. That was for 20k service and warranty still intact.
  5. Just back from the dealer as car is out of warranty in August and they agreed to fit 3rd set of alloys to car no problem, in fairness to them the nearside front was really bad. There was flaking on one of the spokes so was prepared to fight it out with them but no hassle at all..
  6. Could be that the engine works best above 2000rpm as at that speed the turbo is fully spinning and gets that extra oomph.. Raised the issue of same engine and fuel consumption as I was given an Avensis as a courtesy car be dealer, comments were different drive train and heavier car equates to poorer consumption...
  7. Had the same concerns but everything is flush and all in line..
  8. 20,000 Mile service for diesel Lexus Edinburgh £440 Lexus Glasgow £320 Independent garage using genuine Lexus parts to keep warranty intact £188 10,000 mile service was quoted £170 but got it free as a gesture of goodwill due to all the warranty issues I had.
  9. Odd one out here, I have it on the passenger side, you really only notice it on sunny days.. which are few and far between..
  10. Just thought I would share the good news... Looks like Lexus have found a fix for the Boot Lid/Bumper issue... Car was in for another respray of boot/bumper beginning of Sept, a few days after it came back out I got a call from the dealer to say they had a solution.. The four rubber stops on the boot lid were replaced with slightly longer ones. I have been running the car since then and have paid special attention to the danger area, so far so good, no recurrence of the problem.. So if anyone has any concerns pop down to your dealer and ask for the new rubber stops, easy fix just pull out the old stop and push in the new one.. Happy days :)
  11. Seen a few GTR's around my way, but not any IS-F's, don't think they exist in Scotland... If Humberside Police are taking them does this mean there is less available stock allocated to joe public???
  12. For the smelly air-con try switching it on then turn the temp up full and run for at least 15 mins with engine at normal running temp... I had a similar problem with my MG ZS and it was cured by doing that, seemingly the heat kills off the bacteria that creates the smell..
  13. We went to Mothercare who look up a chart and will only provide a car seat suitable for your car (got both the lexus & astra car seats from them). The seat we have in the astra will fit in the Lex but is not recomended as it can move. As for the issue pointed out earlier regarding car seats messing up the leather we got a protector that ties into the headrest and then goes over the seat had no problems whatsoever a year down the line.. Would recommend Mothercare as they let you try before you buy at the store..
  14. Yes it does, you could take the risk and not tell then although if you did have a serious accident you would have to remove before an assessor got anywhere near your car... Most premiums with these add an additional £50 or so to yearly premium... Although if tried to palm it off as a fuel saving device they might not charge If anything it will improve the emissions as the fuel burns more efficiently as it is injected at a higher pressure.. I know a few guys have them on their Astra's and have toyed with idea, thinking about getting a BMW and was looking at getting it chipped and came across this site Chip Site Big claims for £50 less, also they confirm what I was told by another company that the Lexus was hard to Chip due to the ECU set up but looks like some clever folk have worked it out :)
  15. I will second that have had one for 3 years. Had a similar issue with relfective windscreen, got round it by using their magnetic windscreen mount which is a suction cup similar to Sat Nav holder that picks up the signal no problem, Costs an additional £14.99. Never had any problem with mine, saved me on a couple of occasions, you can be driving along having idle chit chat with a passenger and forget about a speed camera that has been around for years and this wee thing bursts into life :)
