I am getting excited ..... car is delivered to Lexus Worcester, pdi'd, supaguard being applied as I type to the exterior paint, all the interior and the wheels :) I am picking it up in the morning ..... don't think I'll sleep tonight ....

lol I laughed at that :) Seriously goto www.yell.co.uk ... it takes you to a search page...... in "I am looking for" ...... put "Helium Gas" in "Located In" ..... put your local town or city ..... and it should come back with places with "GASES - INDUSTRIAL & MEDICAL" .... give it a go ...

I picked up a courtesy car instead, mine has stil lnot arrived, still I got a IS200 with sat nav to play with :)

After a number of calls to ESure and telling that I just don't accept it .... got a call back this morning to say the underwriters have accepted it. So policy stands. Called Lexus helpline on Wednesday explained the problem ... have got them trying to inform BPI of the existance of this model of car. Lexus Insurance ..... well still no quotation despite phone calls ...... so they haven't come up with the goods, yet to find out if they will cover the .... with Styling Kit. Moral ---------- just never give up, you will get a result. Ask Vauxhall, Ford, KSB ( importers ), Land Rover and now Esure ........

David as long as you have signed the deal and they have ...... ie all paper work complete and you have a copy ..... then will be no problem and you get the chance to learn to drive a Lexus ....... and it's theirs. I have similar situation, Lexus dlivered wrong car to dealership and I am waiting for phone call tomorrow to see if the correct one arrived today. if not then I have a courtesy Lexus for the weekend and until mine is ready to go. When dealership and being good accept and say thanks.

Matthew - doesn't look like it !! I phoned Lexus Uk & they gave me 0800 1383200. I have printed off details from link + the compamy ( won't mention it as it's for Gold members ). I'll call them tomorrow & report back. Cheers

My main point is that it's not a modded car, it's as it comes from Lexus. Have tried Tesco online and 1 quote and they do not list the IS200 with Styling Kit so I can't insure it online. Looks like Lexus Insuraqnce will win :) Agree with you Administrator ( Steve ? ). If there is any way out then the insurance company will find it !!

I transferred my insurance with Esure on Monday from my Freelander ( now sold ) to the Lexus IS200 Sport with Styling Kit that I am hoping to pick up Saturday. Told them twice what the car was. £19 ish additional premium and documents in the post. Received said documents and they say Lexus IS200 Sport, so I phoned up to be sure ... and they said that they haven't got the model with Styling Kit on their BPI list ... it gets worse ... So faxed then price list page of brochure, explaining it was a standard model etc. They spoke to underwriters who will NOT insure it. Result policy cancelled. Refund due .... have phoned & complained etc. but no good. I have asked them to listen to tapes they make .... but they say underwriters will not insure an IS200 Sport with Styling Kit. I haven't finished yet ....... But if you are insured with them or perhaps anybody else any you have a factory fitted Styling Kit .... please ..... please check your Insurance Schedule and make sure it says what it should. Am going to try a couple of online sites tonight ..... and see if they have the model .... have alread got quote coming in the post from Lexus Insurance ..... wait to see what that lists for the car :) Any comments people?

The blue stuff I was on about is Zymol ...... it dowes work .... no advert ... but the big H sell it :) Mer is good as a polish, in fact its excellent but not the dogs whatsits for scratsges IMHO.

Are they swirl marks from polishing or scratches from things rubbibg against car? If it's swirl marks ... Halfords do a product that's about £12 a bottle can't remember name ( but it's a blus thicky liquid ) it's fairly hard going doing a bit at a time ... but works. I'll find out the name ( got some in the garage !! ). If it's scratches try GS27 ... also Halfords ... and other places .... about £10. With anything like this try it in a fairly hiiden place to make sure it is compatible with your paint ( thin .. ).....

I would suspect the ABS system. I had an identical problem on a Mondeo ST24. To see if it is this find the ABS unit on bulk head and idsconnect the plug ( wiring ) from it start engins as normal from cold & see if it does it ..... if it's gone that's the problem. Sorry can't tell you where the unit is as I haven't got mine yet ....... sure some of the guys on here will know where it is and confirm if it is safe to do so. Please do not attempt to drive like this until sombody confirms it is safe to do so.

Black cars as you now know are always difficult to clean and they show every mark be it dirt or surface scratch / swirl. Two products you can use to clean ( applies to all colours but more important on black ) are Mer and Autoglym, both are available at H**ford*. If you follow the instructions on the bottle they will give you a good finish. Supaguard is a permanent protection on the paintwork and interior ( it's £299 = vat by the way ). It seals / levels the paint and is meant to amke it easy to clean. Supposedly you wash it & dry it & that's it ..... rain / dirt sheet off the car ....... rather than spotting. I have ordered a car for March delivery and am still undecided ( i am going to try and get a demo of a car treated with it first ) .... if it's that good they should let me thrwo a bucket of water over it ... There are a few comments on another post .... mixed opinions ... Come on guys help us out please.

After experiences with other "lesser" cars I don't think you can guarantee any two fuel tanks, senders, electronics & read out combinations will be 100 % identical ...... I dare you to try it and prove me wrong ....

Would it be possible to add the "next oldest topic & next newest topic" links that are at the top of each topic ( before first post ) to the end of each topic ( after last post ) as it would make it a hell of a lot quicker / easier to go to next topic :) Hope you all understand this :o

Java - sorry should have said 3% .... finger trouble & it was Fleet discount. As with anything to do with paying ... always go in low and prepare to settle somewhere in the middle if you have to. Just talk car price first ..... then haggle additionally over extras .... ask for carpets fror free as it will help them .... when you go for your 4th IS200. I have only negotiated my price on car .... will do extras when I order them. Anybody tried the Supaguard Protection ... paint, leather, carpets, interior trim. £299 + vat plus I think you can protect the wheens to for extra. I was going to try and negotiate on this too before delivery if it's any good.

I believe 3 5 is the Fllet discount .... so wotk that out on the basic car price ( without car tax and VAT ) and that should give you something to aim at as you will have no part exchange. I reckon in my head it will be £550 - £600.
