  1. Hi all Just wondering if anyone has used this stuff? They seem to do a 3 stage system similar to Meguiars. Is it any good? Cheers Gavin
  2. Good choice of car mate - looking good. I'm in N. Ireland too but I have got rid of the IS200 and now have a Saab 9-3 Aero
  3. Yeah but its not a Sport is it? Its a GS300 S And why does 67k miles automatically mean that the car may have been clocked? Is it not possible that the car has had just two owners and they didn't do much driving hence the low mileage?
  4. Thanks Chips I think £4500 may be rock bottom - he was looking for £5000 to begin with. Does this sound about right for a car like this if it really is in the condition he says it is?
  5. Hi mate Try this one: Click here I went to see this car on Friday. Bodywork needs attention but he was giving it to me at £1500 which is quite cheap for a GS300 Sport
  6. Hi guys I may be going to look at a 97 P GS300 Sport at the weekend and I would appreciate any pointers as to what to look out for on these cars. It has 67k miles, 2 owners from new, full Lexus history and just had the cambelt done. It is described as being in immaculate condition inside and outside. It has the 10" rears with new tyres all around and a new MOT. I think I can get it for £4.5k, does this sound right? Any thoughts/advice welcome. Cheers, Gavin
  7. I've seen 97 P reg ones on Autotrader for 3k, with over 100k miles. Is this too cheap?
  8. Hi guys Having sold my IS200 Sport I quite fancy a MK1 GS300 Sport. I would prefer a late one (think the last of them were on a P plate?) Mileage isn't too important but I would like one with around 100k or less and condition would be more important. How much could I expect to pay for a nice 97 P reg to suit my requirments? Also, anything to look out for on these cars when buying a used one? Cheers Gavin
  9. You could try changing the power steering fluid :) Gord, I had thought about that. Is it necessary to change the fluid? Is this part of the service schedule for the IS200? Furthermore, how easy is it to change the fluid?
  10. Hi all, My 2001 IS200 Sport has developed an annoying problem with the power steering. Basically when I start the car from cold in the morning, I have no power assistance whatsoever for the first few minutes of driving. However when the car is driven for 5 mins it is OK. This is a real pain especially if I have to try and move out from a parking space etc. If I start the car and leave it idling for 5 - 10 mins before setting off it appears to be OK also. Obviously it has something to do with temperature? I have checked the fluid level which is OK. I have also took a look at the drive belts in the engine bay and these also seem to be OK. There are no unusual noises either. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Cheers, Gavin
  11. Just disconnect the negative terminal on the cars battery for a few mins and then re-connect. This will cause the unit to reset itself.
  12. I've just ordered the PCP from Autopia (missed the GB!) with the DAS pad kit and I was wondering could this be used in conjunction with the Meguiars Deep Crystal system or do you have to use Sonus products with it to achieve best results? Thanks in advance, Gavin
  13. I always remove the headrests and the brake light from mine when I'm cleaning the rear window. To remove the brake light insert a flat blade screwdriver underneath it at both ends and prise upwards. I also find that a roll of wide masking tape is handy to use the sticky side to pick up any dirt from the parcel shelf where it meets the bottom of the rear window as this area is too tight to get the nozzle from the vaccum cleaner in to clean it properly.
  14. Remember if fitting the TTE rear skirt to use Sycaflex or some sort of bonded sealer as the two sided tape that comes with it isn't strong enough and the skirt will start to sag in the middle.
  15. If you remove it (just pull upwards) the part number will be written on it underneath. Then you can just phone your Lexus dealer and get a price.
  16. Have a good one mate! Was in Benidorm for a week last September, really enjoyed it. Did you get a chance to go to Terra Mitica? Great for keeping the kids amused I'd say
  17. I'd say you would have to remove the bumper mate. Apparantly its only a 20min job on the IS There are workshop articles on how to do it.
  18. Trying to run a GS300 on £56 p/w sounds very tight Hope you don't have to get rid mate?
  19. The "old" Sport OEM spoiler isn't the TTE one, most people just call it the Sport lip spolier. The TTE lip spoiler is a much smaller affair, like the one you see on some BMW's including the M3. You can see pics on TTE's website www.tte.de On later cars the OEM Sport spoiler came with an integrated brake light. There is a company on ebay called autocosmeticsuk which sell the later type OEM Sport spoiler with intergrated brakelight for £125 I think and £80 extra for supplying it painted. I will try and post a link...
  20. Would the actual caliper on the MK2 GS not be the same as the IS? Is it not just the carrier thats different?
