I thought I would pay my respects before I depart from this forum. 3rd party was at fault- back end was smashed. Boot, exhaust, trd bumper- gone. Waiting to be paid out now.
I've recently registered as a new member on the Honda S2000 forums as I plan to buy one within a couple of weeks. The Is200 sport was my first taster of owning a RWD car and now that I move onto the Honda s2k im hoping all that experience pays off. The s2k that im looking at has no VSA (traction control) and the back end is prone to slipping out in the wet. That and the heated seats will be sorely missed!
I want to say thanks to all that helped me whilst I owned the Lex. Some good guys on here. I had the car that you see to the left of this post for almost 3 years, purchased from an ex board member on these forums. We had a good time and I cant recommend the is200 enough but I think my days of Lexus are over for good.
Thanks all. Goodbye. Take care.
I need to drive my car tonight somewhere and just realised its started snowing again! i havent touched my lex since it started snowing last week.
if you dont hear from me again, call all emergency services to look for a Y reg silver is200 stranded somewhere near watford!!
(im ****ting myself taking the car out now)
I had eibach springs fitted to my lexus a year ago. i didnt drop it too much as im running on 19s. ride comfort was noticibly different. I havent changed my shocks though but not sure if i would need to....
Hi mate, when you say the ride is noticibly different, what do you mean? I love the ride quality of the Lexus and dont want to ruin it too much. Just wish it wasnt so high!
Thanks for all your other responces - appreciated!
Even though my car had 19s when I bought the car the car looked really high like it was on stilts, especially the back wheels. I opted for Eibach springs and wacked them on. I didn't have them dropped to low. There was a big difference in ride comfort and I feel every bump on the road now. It could be because i need to change my shocks but im not too sure tbh. The car does look much better lowered and more responsive handling. I may downgrade my wheels to 18s though.
Anyone know where i can get the original lexus sport gear knob apart from dealership? cant seem to find them on ebay anymore.
not sure if this is what you are after?

Thats the one! Thanks mate :)

Toyota have quoted me £280 for a full service compared to the £430 from lexus, so i might just go with Toyota.
Have you heard of Jem? There saying £210 but i dont know anything about them to let them do the servicing.
i paid £750 last year. fully comp. modified lexus sport (rims, bodykit, exhaust, tints, suspension).
this year im paying £630. im 26, 9 points, 6 yrs NCB (protected)
I just recently fitted the new 55w HIDs - 6000k. Bought it off ebay for £60 including p&p.
I've only got the one picture. i'll upload some more shortly.
Might be worth asking Tony at WIM about his arch rolling matey when you go to see him as it might give you enough clearance for your rims and stop any rubbing :)
love to know the make of tyres as i deal in them and 2253519 arnt a uk size?
intresting
Originally had Kumho on the front. Now have falken fk452s- 225/35/19 on the front. 235s on the back (kumho).
Tony won't bite you know, he's actually a nice bloke
Yeh, i had my geo done from him last week. He liked my car as well which was good. and i had free coffees while watching wimbledon. great stuff.
I've just ordered a pair of falken FK452s from camskill. I rang so many garages up and none of them could get the falkens from their dealers! i must have phoned 10 places. only camskill were the ones to have them.
For under £100, there is DEFINATELY not a better tyre out there other than falken. I dunno how federals compare to the falkens but either way, im getting the falkens fitted tomorrow so ill report back on my findings later.
This will be my set up now-
FRONT: FALKEN FK452 225/35/19
REAR: KUMHO ECSTA SPT 235/35/19
Falken FK 452! They are the ones! £90.60 on camskil is the cheapest, inc vat and delv.
And the reviews.... OMG! I havent come across one single bad review for this tyre.
Im ordering them on monday UNLESS someone can convince me not to or recommend something better.
Federals are £110 each fitted. are they worth the money? I cant really find anything else within my budget. I could stick with khumo- £130 a tyre.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Guys, i got 225/35/19s and believe me the tyres are not cheap!
I managed to get 2 kumho's for my rear at £120 each about 3 months ago. Now there gone up to £135 because i need some for the front.
Every tyre place is telling me about FULLRUN. I've searched and searched and not found a single decent review on them. There £85 a tyre fully fitted which is dirt cheap for 19s! Good performance tyres cost £200 each!
anyone had fullrun tyres before or know anything about them?
Oh yeh, thanks to Tony in WIM for sorting out my geometry!
apologies, 225/35 was what i meant to say.
i put 235s as the back tyres. The outer rim on the alloys dont stick out like they do with the 225 but it does rub now on the back tyres when i have passengers and going over bumps.
To be honest, the 19s on there were perfectly fine with the standard springs on. The ride comfort was still there until i lowered the car.
Im running 225/45/19 on the front and 235/45/19 on the back.
