  1. I think they are lovely looking cars. They appear much bigger in the flesh.
  2. Managed 33 mpg on a 62 mile round trip. Motorway and single carriage roads plus a bit of town driving (6 miles)
  3. Please do a quick comparison of your MK1 and Mk 3 Malc. I keep threatening to do a review of my Mk4
  4. I sold all my cars too cheaply!
  5. Depends on the TYPE of Automatic Gearbox you have. The video below, I found very informative - worth watching as it also deals with electric and hybrid cars.
  6. There has been a storyline in the radio series about a charging station application with cafe on the edge of the village.
  7. The video shows the removal of a check strap on a RX350 - not your model but I would imagine a very similar procedure. Are you prepared to name the dealership? I would consider that poor service but possibly they might argue it is incorrect opening of the door (swinging open harshly, wind?). Writing to the Dealership Principal might be one course you could take. Looking at the video might explain their reluctance - not a two minute job but doable by a competent technician! https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=Lexus+what+are+check+straps%3f&mid=EC1C34FE881427A076A7EC1C34FE881427A076A7
  8. You have been caught Ken! A closet Archers fan like me!
  9. Are they being serious? Is that the genuine cost of replacing a strut? That is ridiculous.
  10. Ed this is EXACTLY what is happening in Ambridge!
  11. I could not agree more Ron. The poor reliabilty and finish would put me off. I do not need to race about, and to be frank it is very difficult on our busy roads. Wafting along at legal speeds in a 4 litre V8 is an experience you should have before they become extinct! I have nothing against electric cars - just any car that is poorly made and unreliable. hence my choice of Lexus/Toyota/Mitsubishi (in the past)
  12. Your response, Gary, is interesting. Whenever I have bought a "newish" car, my expectations are high and I have sometimes been a little disappointed. When I have bought an older car, I have zero expectations and that has usually been very surprisingly good! You do need to own a Lexus for a few months before you fully appreciate their worth. I love the colour combination. Please keep us all informed how you are finding the car. Congratulations on being soooooooo..... patient!
  13. An option might be an excellent late NX300h? You would not be compromising much on quality but saving on fuel, insurance and VED - provided you find one under the 40K list price. Just another thought?
  14. I thought people would have already decided that Malc. Interesting to see!
  15. Quote:So, a bit of jeopardy - will the temp drop to 5 degrees before I get it rectified? In Yorkshire surely!!
  16. I am a bit confused about the Luxury Car Tax - I thought you had to pay from Year 1 to Year 5? That is on top of the "normal" VED. Ed, your car is a 2021, so two years old. I thought you would be paying from the start? I must admit that was one of the factors in finally choosing my NX300h.
  17. Sadly Marek, you have bought the one Lexus model (the diesel) that few people on this forum would recommend. I believe it is the most unreliable car Lexus have made. Some IS220D owners on the forum will disagree with this statement. Lexus cars are hard to beat - many owners who change their Lexus for another brand often come back. Unfortunately you have picked the wrong one. This will probably put you off the brand, which is a shame.
  18. With that dazzle camouflage, you will be safe from a torpedo attack!
  19. I do sympathise with your dilemma. Older cars need some TLC, which costs money. It is deciding when to stop putting your money into a car, that is the issue. They are not cheap cars to run on a tight budget.
