welcome to the fold.. sorry i cant help with the shocks, power steering- sounds silly but us there fluid in the power steering bottle? could be a faulty/shot steering pump! as you say it is there slightly im hoping it is just very low on fluid. but then begs the question why is it low? pop the bonnet and then get back on here

im not implying you can run around with an old tax disc because you cant be bothered to display the new one. it is totally fine to run around with an out of date tax disc because you are waiting for the new one in the post. if you get pulled for a random reason and they spot the old tax disc they'll check with the dvla. that was advice from dvla EDIT: man im slow at typing!

if purchased online you are automatically taxed on the system even without a valid paper disc. you cannot get fined/clamped/crushed while you are waiting for your paper disc as its all on computer Is that true? I was under the impresion that you can still get done for not displaying a valid tax disc? thats why you can order it in advance so your always showing a valid one. 100% true. before a car is ticketed for no tax its checked against the computers. you may get questioned if an officer spots its out of date, but a quick check with the computers will show your covered and waiting for it in the post :winky:

seems like he's trying his luck. he has no legal grounds to chase you for money. make sure you keep his letters/emails in a safe place in case you ever need them!

theres no way the Lexus brand will be changed as they recently launched in Japan. i dont think Lexus has ever tried to distance itself from Toyota. you'd have to live under a rock since birth not to know its the same frickin company and besides, does it actually hurt the image being linked to Toyota? one of the biggest car companies in the world? the most reliable? its probably a restructure or a company tax issue. -

just a thought... if he gets arsey sue him for distress caused by his letter demanding £49. a local sued the council for causing distress as they chased him for parking tickets he didnt pay. luck was on his side as they didnt show up at court and he was awarded £20,000. the council didnt pay so the court sent the bailiffs to the parking ticket office and shut them down. sure enough the council paid up but vowed to get the £20k back via appeal... as far as i know that man is still £20k richer!

val kilmer as KITT? tis unfortunate the original KITT voice was going to do it, however GM pretty much forced his hand and he backed out after recording the 1st episode. something to do with GM not being happy Ford had sole advertising rights during the add breaks and they were using the Mustang as KITT. **** politics!

avg scan came up with nothing. i've just noticed windows security centre shows malware protection as off. when i try and turn it on (avg is already selected there) it will not. 7171 is there i'll uninstall avg and try another one. it seems avg has been bypassed somehow...

hi aido, AVG has been installed since day one, will do a full slow system scan now. as for proxy the boxes have always been unticked(and not set) and set not to detect settings automatically. (iirc there are two boxes to tick in that tab, both are unticked) thanks once again aido! :)

apparently there is a guarantee, however i've read some horror stories when trying to get the money back. some get it instantly some dont. as most the companies are in USA i doubt we'd be take too seriously

researching points to registry problems.... and only paying £30ish for a program to fix it as the free version wont fix everything...

right i've managed to get slightly further on cmd.exe -> run as admin however this time it starts at C:\Windows\system32... proxycfg -d still doesnt work...

i dont think it has a virus as many others have the same problem after updating windows. also the anti virus updates fine...
