the one you speak of on ebay is one of the ones i found but also found a couple others . but by the looks of things the toms 280t edition looks like the winner out of them all as i like to be different and i like white cars lol . i found the one on autotrader i have also heard about there rep so not to sure on that one cant seem to find any others .

how reliable are the toms edition ? and do thay all go for that sort of price ?

Yeah you can take it that they're more expensive than a normal altezza, there was only 100 made so they're quite rare! How reliable are they? How long is a piece of string? If taken care of they're shouldnt be any problems with it, if you're out throwing it around round abouts and doing alot of drifting etc obviously a lot of work will be needed to keep her going but that'll be your own doing!

I've had my N/A one since Jan 08 and the only problems I've had so far are

General Servicing & maintenance (tyres etc) - needed in anything

Water pump & Timing Belt - when I was getting a service done the mechanic noticed a leak in the pump, not major but slight, just got it repaired anyway!

Shocks - rear passanger side shock shat itself so replaced the whole lot with coilovers. Its a 7 year old car so its to be expected though.

As long as you look after the car they're shouldnt be any problems. Its a toyota at the end of the day, they're pretty much bulletproof once looked after

i wouldnt buy the one on ebay just because of the Louis Vitton interior! :(

There was no turbo tezza's produced except for the Toms 280T which was a limited edition turbo model, 100 made and 10 given to 10 different garages. After that anything with a supercharger or turbo is an aftermarket mod. When its comes to what to look out for though I'm not 100% sure as mine is N/A.

I've just put the Tein Superstreets on my tezza and the difference is huge in my opinion. Car is alot more responsive, seems to stick to the road a lot more! At the moment I havent changed the settings on them so their still stiff as hell and at that they're still comfortable enough. Seem low enough, put it this way I'm getting caught on speed ramps now that I didnt when I just had the lowering springs.

They're designed for daily road use and the odd trackday as well. I think they're great and delighted I got them. Got them off eBay from amber performance for £650 I think. Worked out with delivery etc about €130/€150 cheaper that if I got them here!

Personally I'd say go for it. Got my mechanic to put them on for me, he builds t/a & drift cars for a living and he uses Tein in everything he does but have heard good things about the BC's as well!

Yeah i got those exact lights on mine...failed the MOT....would only recommend them if you could get someone to turn the projector lenses round to change the beam direction to suit UK roads...kinda tricky

Just after buying a legana front bumper for my altezza.

Just looking for advice on the paint for it..

I drive a blue altezza. Does anyone think that it looks nice with the center piece painted blue as well or is it blue and black all the way?

Oh and does it matter about the black or does somebody have the paint code for it?

Personally I'd leave it black, I certainly wouldnt paint it blue but hey thats just me I've a legana front in blue with the black grill on it, the pics are under the topic "my altezza"

Oh yes the mods have been planned, theres a few bit and pieces done already, aftermarket wheels and speakers, exhaust and manifold with an induction kit.

At the moment I'm looking at the ICE with the suspension and wheels to follow (not mad about the wheels on it). That may be it for the moment, wanna clear loans etc so I can put all my money into her, more than likely will go down the line of a full interior refurb and look at a turbo but thats all in good time. Going to enjoy what I have for the minute

I've got a HKS system on my tez and the noise is savage, its got a tailpipe I can fit my shoe in so that shouldnt be a problem for ya, but the sound is good at low revs and brilliant at high revs. Only thing is the car came with the exhaust already fitted so I cant tell ya exactly what it is but I do know that its hks

i phoned bell and i told them its altezza and the guy goes it classified as a is200 import so i will still be covered.

is200 import = AS200 !

i went through that with Tesco's and when i spoke to them they found the RS200 on the computer and then added some 150 on the premium !

bear in mind the insurance people do legal stuff for a living and know every way how to not pay you !

just be carefully and ask yourself can you afford to lose the cost of your car if they don’t pay out !!

Forget if you can afford to loose the cost of your own car but what happens if you hit someone elses car and write it off!!!!!!

Can someone tell me is it possible to change the orange lighting behind the a/c & radio etc? I've been looking at changing the speedo etc to blue and found a nice kit but dont want a combo of orange/blue in the car

There's no real way of proving that your auld lad isnt the main driver but if you dont declare the proper details to the insurance company and you have an accident you're screwed, take it from someone who works in insurance

Thanks for the advice guys. Parts have been ordered today from Toyota and told they be here tomorrow. Thankfully the wing can be repaired so all going well should be good as new by Monday.

Also I dented and scratched my front driverside wing in same accident. Can this be resprayed alone or will i have to get the whole side of the car sprayed. Mica blue i think the colour is called.

To the best of my knoweldge traynors do a delivery service, think its every tuesday at lunch time near the enterance to the green isle hotel on the naas road. Hope this may help a bit and you get sorted asap

Ya according to the owners manual it should return 29 mpg .... but to get this you won't be having any fun, which kinda defeats the point of buying an RS200...

I agree with Noel, you wont be getting 29mpg. Picked mine up on Friday, filled the tank, have done about 200km and have just over half a tank left, but then again I only got it Friday and am having way too much fun to start driving sensibly just yet :D
