  1. Both the above answers are spot on, it’s like adverts that say AC not working, just needs re-gassing……so why not get it done and sell the car more easily and for a bit more dosh? Airbag could be anything from a dodgy connector under the seat (easy) to an actuator or airbag module (very expensive).
  2. Yes, although there is a train of thought that hydrogen can be used to power 100 year old ICE technology and call itself Green. 😂
  3. It’s a years motoring for £1K……don’t believe the re-gassing, that would be a miracle it’s more than likely a component failure, but it just means no AC. Hondas are very well made.
  4. You might have to pay a subscription for a seat to use in the bus soon 😉
  5. Don’t doubt it the way the base rate is going. We’ll be paying the real going rate for motoring soon 😂
  6. All manufacturers offer “customisation” as you call it, most just call it options, even Lexus gives you option packs. All BMW are doing is giving buyers of secondhand vehicles the choice to upgrade to options that were never picked by the original buyer, I really don’t see the down side, sure it would be nice to have a buy outright option but the if you don’t keep cars that long your may well be paying half the cost for the next owner.
  7. Even here in the U.K., the most used one I believe is VW and a stalk change enables cruise control. In the old days it used to be if your car didn’t have the puddle lights, or footwell lights it was a matter of just inserting bulbs!
  8. I agree, but I guess it depends how long your going to keep the car for and how much a one off payment would be, would have been good to have the option though.
  9. What a strange outlook, yes if its a top model it will already have heated seats, fine. But, if you buy a lower model which heated seats didn't come as standard you can add them.
  10. Unfortunately this is just hype and misunderstanding, if you buy your brand new BMW you can order it with heated seats (if it is not standard) just as normal with no subscription involved, but what BMW have done is a first in the industry by making it available to secondhand purchasers if it was not specified when new. The purchaser of a used BMW can add the heated seat feature by buying the subscription.
  11. Not allowed, might…..no definitely would upset the woke brigade.
  12. That’s the official WLTP*, just as ICE official figures are always a bit optimistic. But BMW efficiency is excellent and has been since they launched the i3, they put a priority on engineering efficiency and battery management and control, as an example we regularly get 4.5 miles/KWh in summer and 3.8 in winter……Audi are ***** compared to that, the Audis struggle to get 2.5m/KWh in most circumstances. The Korean makers are great on efficiency as well, it’s just down to getting it all correct. *and it’s a f**k up…….😂 https://ev-database.uk/car/1701/BMW-iX1-xDrive30 I would expect 250 miles on normal driving summertime, maybe 220 winter, but it really does depend on driver, as you know.
  13. Your first paragraph is very true, in Sept we took the i3 in for its biennial service as I walked out of the showroom later in the day I noticed a price tag on one of the “sporty” saloons finished in a matt primer (fkg horrible) the price was £155,000……😱 The rest of your post is also true 👍
  14. Actually I missed that, mine being a REX but classed as a Hybrid on the DVLC means I won’t be paying £20 like other EVs but £10….great, thanks.
  15. Until the majority of Lexus forum members are EV drivers it’ll stay this way I am afraid, or are they afraid? 😄 It is a shame Lexus (and Toyota) took so long getting onboard, they really did dig their heels in the sand. Had they jumped sooner Lexus could have been a leader just as the “h” series of vehicles was to hybrids.
  16. It seems to be only the journalists/press that seems surprised, it makes good headlines. The rest of us just get on with life.
  17. I knew you were in Kent, that’s why I asked where your Utopia was 😉
