  1. I was quoted 785.83 for a major and minor service, 120 000 and 130 000, GS300. According to the service book the 120 000 is a very big service but in the quote it worked out cheaper than the 130 000 minor service. Can't say I was overly impressed with the way they treat their customers either. Customer A rolled up in a near new motor and looked as if he had a few quid, staff were all over him yes sir no sir would you like a brew sir. Customer B first time ever in a Lexus dealership, dressed smart but casual, golf gear type of thing, nothing no hello kiss me arse or anything two staff continue to suck up to bloke A, one member of staff went to get him a brew while the other sorted out a date to bring his car in for a service. leaving me to feel like a spare prick at a wedding. All in all I think I'll be getting my services done at my regular place where everyone is treated with respect. BTW this was at Lexus Bolton.
  2. I have the GS 300 only had it about 3 weeks so I've been keeping an eye on my MPG. Have to say I'm quite happy so far, I'm getting 25mpg just knocking about, short trips, would think 30+ on a run
  3. I might be able to make this but more than likley I'll be on me bike, it is Sunday after all and the bike comes first on Sunday's ;)
  4. If he comes round to yours set out 5 min early so you miss him. If you pick him up on route take a different route and tell him he wasn't there when you went past, or next time he asks just say nope.

  6. This is exactly how i described my GS, a lazy mans car, all you do is move the steering wheel, even this is efortless But after a year and a half I need something more exciting to drive, as much as I love the GS, its no fun You need to get a motorbike, I've never seen a car as a fun thing to own, my bike on the otherhand makes me smile every time I ride it.
  7. What exactly does this do, when should it be done?
  8. I picked the car up on Wednesday, shoved 50 quid in it and went for a ride. Very very early impressions, fantastic engine even with 111000 miles on the clock, superb cabin comfort, great radio/cd player. The ride is quite firm more so than I expected, the petrol gauge goes down just as I expected, I'm more than happy just poodeling along as I know that their is more than enough power there when I want it. This is my first automatic car, talk about lazy motoring, luv it, only thing I can honestly say that I'm not liking is that I'm finding myself at my destination without knowing how I got there. I've also started to look at ways to bling it up a bit, chrome light rims and new wheels being the first things I'm looking to spend on, happy days.
  9. Spot on, Thanks for the welcome folks.
  10. A big kid waiting for Christmas, thats just how I'm feeling right now, the reason being I pick up my new to me Lexus GS300 on Wednesday. It's a 2001 with 111000 miles but has got full Lexus service history, it's either Green or Black depending on how close you stand to it. The only slight worry I have is if the Mrs finds out about the mpg that I'll be getting after always bragging about the mpg of my ex-Passat TDI. I only do around 6000 miles a year so petrol expense wont be a massive worry and a once a year service should be fine. First question Can anyone point me toward a good review of the car, I've already read a few but a few more would be good. Cheers people Bars open
